I really wish I could give this place more stars, but here are the reasons for docking of two stars:
1) Took forever. We were seated promptly, but we didn't get our drinks for the longest time. Deepdish pizza naturally takes a long time to make, but the wait was almost unbearable considering we were starving. Good thing we ordered some fries to tie us down during the 45 minute wait.
2) We settled for this place instead of Gino's East. We were a bit a way from that place and was too lazy and too hungry to go there. Perhaps we should have. The thought "maybe Gino's is better" lingering in the back of your mind keeps your from fully enjoying the food set before you.
The pizza itself wasn't bad. But it didn't exactly bring tears to my eyes when I sunk my teeth into the colossal piece of pie.
I will definitely give Chicago deepdish another try next time, perhaps at another place, though.

The admission is a bit pricey, but you get your money's worth. Plenty to see. The oceanarium is great, as well as the whale shows.

It can get quite crowded. If you want a decent seat, get there early - way before the sets start. They have good grubbin' and very affordable drinks, but really... you're there for the music. And it is FABULOUS.
I didn't have the pleasure of seeing Buddy himself, but they bring in solid artists. My sister and I sat through both bands, and it was definitely worth the cover and then some.
I was there pre-smoking ban, so I'm excited to pay them another visit next time I'm in Chicago.

Emilio's Tapas Sol y Nieve
Categories: Tapas Bars, Spanish, Basque
Neighborhoods: Near North Side, River East
While we wandered around couple block east of the Mag Mile with a guide map in hand, a random gentleman took pity on us and asked if we were looking for something in particular. We weren't about to be picky, so we pretty much said anything good. He suggested Emilio's.
Both my sister and I were new to the whole tapas experience, so we asked our very helpful (and cute) waiter for suggestions. I don't even know what we ended up ordering (I think between the two of us we shared four dishes), but they were all excellent. Perhaps the fact that we were uber hungry helped.
The outdoor seating is great. Very casual, relaxing atmosphere where you can throw back a beer or two...or more... ;)
I enjoyed my experience there thoroughly and would definitely visit again next time I'm in Chicago.
We got there after the lunch hours have passed (around 3pm), so we were the only ones in the place. So my review of their service is a bit skewed, but it was excellent nonetheless. The waiter was very patient while we took forever to decide and friendly enough to suggest things.
From the soup (I believe is was creamy red bell pepper soup of some sort; memory fails me, it's been more than a year...) to the entree crepe to the desert crepe, everything was very delicious! If we had any room to spare in our stomach, we would've tried more stuff.
The portions are large and the quality is unbeatable. Best crepes I've had!!!

It looks very unimpressive from the outside, and it's easy to pass by being on Virginia Street. Do yourself a favor, and endure the less-than-convenient parking (expected on Virgina in that area, but go around the back towards Bangkok and park in the rear lot) and try Miguel's.
The interior more than makes up for the exterior. It's cute, clean, and inviting. The wait staff is prompt to serve you, but at times you may have to wait a bit to get a table. But trust me, that's usually a good sign in a restaurant. ;)
Endless chips and salsa as soon as you sit down. Freshly made chips come piping hot. I wasn't fan of the salsa since I prefer more chunky type, but I wasn't bad. For the chips, get the refried beans!! Some places don't really "refry" their refried beans, but Miguel's gets it right. It's good stuff. I haven't tried guacamole, but I'm sure it would be worth it to venture out.
Enchilada, tacos, and all the other dishes my friends and I have tried are all good, but the best is the uber big burritos. The shrimp kind. Oh so good.
When Taco Bell won't do (and I do like Taco Bell, but on a whole different playing field), go to Miguel's for the goods.

1) I didn't pay, my professor did. We went for an end-of-semester culminating event for a graduate seminar course.
2) We had private room.
3) The private room reservation for the large party came with a dedicated server.
4) Alcohol was continuously flowing from the moment I sat down until we left the place.
5) They insisted we drop a significant chunk of dough to make it worth their time. Which we did. Well, the professor did.
That said, the food was dee-lish. Appetizers were all great. I don't even remember what all was ordered (I arrive a bit later than the most of the group), but I enjoyed all that was on the table. I had the steak - at a seafood place? I know... but I was drinking red wine, and seafood would have been overwhelmed. My big chunk of cow was cooked to perfection. Others among us had seafood, and they all seemed to enjoy it very much.
By the time I got to dessert, I was quite a bit buzzed so I don't remember what exactly I ordered but it was something chocolatey, which went very well with the glass of port (because apparently I didn't have enough alcohol at that point).
Flawless service. Excellent food. The private room was simply great!

It's hard for a Korean restaurant to please me to the fullest because I have been spoiled rotten by my mom who is a phenomenal cook. But Chosun Korean BBQ was superb in every way. You can tell a good Korean restaurant by their kimchee, which was great stuff. All of their banchan (side dishes) were tasty. They even threw in complementary dwen-jan-jjigae (soy bean paste stew) and gae-ran-jjim (Korean egg casserole), and the stew was very good - authentic, home-cooked taste.
Korean restaurants are not really known for their service, but this place was very attentive, all of the waiting staff spoke both Korean and English well (I probably confused them a little by mixing it up all the time on them). The atmosphere is inviting with distinct Korean decor but not overly cliche. We sat in a booth that could comfortable sit four so we had plenty of room to spread out.
We had the spicy pork BBQ, which was great stuff. We ordered two servings, which looked more like three. As matter of a fact, we actually took some (uncooked) meat home because it was too much for two of us to eat in one sitting. The waitstaff came by constantly to make sure the meat wasn't over-cooked, and when it was ready, they cut it up for us.
Two portions of the spicy pork, one bottle of soju, and side dishes up the wazoo cost $60 with tip, so it's not cheap, but it's not unreasonable either. But they work hard to make sure it is worth your while and your money.
I will definitely be visiting again.
