We have gone to this location a couple of times and we enjoy the food. It is great to be a part of the E-Club because you can get $10 off any purchase of more than $20, which comes in handy because with that money off it knocks the price down to a reasonable amount. We have always had really good and friendly service until our last visit.
A couple of weeks ago me and my wife went to the Brea location and had some of the worse service that we ever had at a restaurant.
We had received our drinks and our server left without asking us if we were ready to order our meal, which we were. He let us know that our salad would take four minutes to get to our table and our table and that our entree would take about 20 minutes to arrive. It took over 30 minutes to receive our salad. I don't think there is any cold, lettuce based salad that would ever take 30 plus minutes to make. Especially at a chain restaurant.
We were already frustrated by this point. I had asked if i could get a refill on my drink and he said he would get right on that. We were sitting in the bar area and i watched our server walk behind the bar and talk to the bartender about being tired. He never did bring me my ice tea, so i left my booth, walked to the bar and asked the bartender to refill my drink.
We overheard our server mention to the other customers at the surrounding tables that the "system" was down and that things would take a bit longer because the employees had to hand write all the orders and turn them into the chefs. I don't care if he had to carve our order on stone, it took us forty five minutes from the time we were done with our meal to receive the check. And the only reason we received our check was because i got up and asked the hostess at the front to bring it to us.
We were sitting there so long that we decided to pay with cash so we didn't have to sit there any longer. In fact, we were going to order dessert, but changed our minds because we just wanted to get out of there. We were there for two and a half hours and if we ever go back to this location and we get the same server i will ask to be seated somewhere else.
Everyone in our section was displeased. When you can hear people at other tables voicing their opinions, you know that something is wrong. Two and a half hours on a Saturday afternoon spent at a restaurant is not exactly the best use of our time on a weekend.
The food was really good, but getting this kind of service is uncalled for.

There are many reasons to go to Arthur's, but the main one is Biscuits and Gravy! Arthur's has the best biscuits and gravy around!!
I am not a fan of really starchy biscuits. The biscuits at Arthur's are fluffy and buttery, and the gravy is a nice thick white homestyle gravy! I would also suggest the Country Benedict (biscuits topped with poached egg, ham and gravy).
For those of you who aren't into biscuits and gravy, i can highly recommend their French Toast. The O'Brien Potatoes are very good, but sometimes the onions are a little potent and raw.
When you go for breakfast ask to get an "Arthur's OJ", which is a ice blended orange juice protein drink. It's sort of like an Orange Julius and incredibly delicious. A great compliment to the salty Biscuits and Gravy.
Since Arthur's doesn't have a website, i never know when they are doing Dinner. Arthur's is primarily a breakfast joint and usually closes as around 2pm. Me and my wife did drive by once when they were open for dinner and i have to say, my Chicken and Dumplings were exceptional!
If i recall correctly the meal came with Salad and a Dessert and was a pretty good price for the amount of food that was offered.
If you don't mind being a bit patient, the long lines outside aren't that bad. The restaurant is really big and they get people, including big groups, in and out fairly quickly.
The service is pretty good and is leaps and bounds better than it's LaHabra counterpart.
Great alternative to IHOP or Denny's!!
