BUT this place isn't Sabrinas, Honeys, or Morning Glory. God forbid it turns into one of these places I would never go back. So yuppies and hipsters need to know going in, that it's just a local neighborhood breakfast and lunch place. REAL Philadelphia for REAL Philadelphians.

Buttercup Cafe is Delicious. It is a neighborhood diner tucked away on the west end of South Street. Looks like a take out joint from the outside, but inside tells a different story. It's very homey with tables and old time movie posters on the wall.
Nicole and Rosa, the new owners, really work their butts off, and they're friendly to boot! I went in on a Saturday morning for breakfast and it was really tasty with some top quality ingredients. Also, can I just say that the grits are BANGING!?
I will definitely go back here again and again.

Bonus for you dirty hippies: They have reusable bags and will give you a discount if you use them again.
Right now, they're a bit expensive but if I need something I can't find at the Dollar Store. I'll go here.

I went with my British expat group for a brunch time munch. I didn't really like the food and the service was a bit harsh. For the amount of money I splashed out, I would have liked better food and nicer service
Oh well, I'll go back again--if i'm ever in the 'hood.
The grilled food is delish though and I had some sushi that was probably the best that I've ever had in England.

So well I can call them up and say "This is Chrissy. Can I get a small tofu at work?" and in 15 minutes I get it without them asking 1) what I want in it or 2) where my work is (same goes for my house too). That is service I can get behind!
They do some other food pretty well too, but I order the same thing all the time now.

It's cot damned delicious here, I don't care what the yuppie transplants say.
