I love love love this diner.  The coffee is hot, the food is fresh, and the waitstaff rocks.  The line cook sees us coming in and makes our daughter a Micky Mouse shaped pancake.  

The prices are fantastic-- portions are huge.  I have yet to have a meal that I'm disappointed in, and the whole place has a real family feel to it.

Okay- so this place is a drive through that serves from styrafoam containers, and is generally the best place for mexican fast-food I've ever had.  

That being said: The California Burrito lists having potatoes in there-- if fries aren't made of potatoes, I don't know what are.  It is a HUGE tasty wonderful burrito- There isn't any guacamole at Santanas, they have Avocado Salsa, which is a thin, spicy avocado sauce.  It is awesome.  

Try the breakfast burritos, they also contain fries (which, in my opinion make everything better), and are huge and filling.

SOME of my rating is based on the fact that I got the rate through hotwire and got a super good deal ($39 for the night).  MOST of my rating is based upon the fact that the staff was friendly, the hotel was lovely and clean, and the cookies tasty.  I was really happy to see neutrogena mini-products.  Initially we were assigned a smoking double, but the front desk people were really sweet about putting us in a non-smoking king.  The room had a really nice LCD flat panel, it smelled (and was) clean-- just great.  It was a few minutes from the strip by car, but well worth driving to and fro.  The hotel was nice and quiet, and I really appreciated having a proper nights sleep.

We loved this show.  It was beautiful, funny, and a nice break from our normal mundane reality.  I can see that some people may be offended by some of the scenes, my husbands eyes went up above his forehead (cartoon style) during a male scene, but it was really awesome.  Exploring sexuality through theatre means all sexuality-- really really good.  

Zumanity offers a 35% military discount, we preordered the tickets.  I wanted to make sure I could get seats that I could leave if I needed to (pregnant and needing to pee all the time), and ours were lovely.

Flat out- really tasty tasty food.  We had caprese salad, bruschetta, and pasta.  Both of the apps were awesome-- very well done.  I had one of the chef specials, which was amazing, and my husband had the linguini mari-- he loved it.  Also, the bread to start was quite good and the olive oil was lovely.  I took off a star for service-- we had some time, so it was okay, but I was getting antsy to go do other things besides dinner before our show.

We really wanted a place for my husband to try pho (even though we lived near 6 pho places in VA, oh well). So we walk in, on Valentines Day at about 5pm. The restaurant was not busy yet, but I didn't think it would be. We had our 5 year old with us so we wanted to go early-- before the romantic couples without children came. The waitstaff was prompt and courteous. I was SO happy with my Thai Iced Tea- quite a treat. My husband got the Pho from the dinner menu (there is also one kind of the appetizer menu), and we also got the Thai BBQ chicken and Pad Thai. My daughter ate her weight in rice and pad thai. The chicken was OUT OF THIS WORLD amazing. It was so moist! I don't think I've ever had chicken that good at a restaurant.  There is a good sized full bar as well.  The pad thai- well- we had to get it so our daughter would eat it, but I like food a little more spicy- I added some hot chili sauce from my husbands pho plate.  We also had the Vietnamese Fresh Rolls- which were AWESOME.  They came with a peanut dipping sauce that I'd like to replace my blood with, and the veggies were fresh and crisp.  Totally delicious!

All in all-- so awesome.  My husband can't wait to go back- which is saying something coming from him.  I can't wait to go back, so I can have the pho next time!!!  This place is really pretty aesthetically speaking, the waitstaff is really nice, the bathrooms are clean, and I can't wait to go back!

Oh.My.Goodness!  Great food-- we went last night and I am honestly counting the minutes until I get to go again!  I love sandwiches in the first place, but these really were first rate.  I had the Coyote, my mother had the TBA, my daughter had the peanut butter banana and honey, and my husband had the shrimp dinner special.  Great food- so fresh and lovely.

Really great little bakery in downtown Joshua Tree.  We had a morning glory muffin, which was amazing-- and my daughter had a teacake, which was lovely homemade shortbread.  Cute little place, sweet owner, and nice selection!

This place was alright-- we got take out, and while I was hoping for steamed dumplings as an appetizer, that was a no-go.  The interior is... interesting.  Not awful, but not someplace you'd find in a larger town.  Got the food home, and it was tasty-- not the best I've had, but certainly not the worst.  I will keep searching for a decent Chinese place near our new house.  Oh-- very quiet interior and when my 5 year old began talking, other patrons looked at her and rolled their eyes.  Not cool.

I was shocked and surprised to learn there was Indian food here in Joshua Tree.  It was awesome- we went in hungry our first night in our new house (no pots or pans or fridge).  We bought almost the whole menu I think.  The chicken tikka was probably some of the best I've ever had, as well as the peshwari naan.  AWESOME stuff.  They don't take credit cards in the restaurant, however you can walk next door with your bill to Sam's Liquors and pay there.  Also, their pizza is pretty tasty too- very inventive.  This is more of a place you want to order in and eat at home because the decor leaves a lot to be desired, especially in the winter when the dining room is quite chilly.
