I'm so glad this place isn't like it's old counterpart-the crepe store on Broadway that got shut down finally because it totally WAS a drug front!
Looking in, it looks like a tiny place, but there is a back room--don't be fooled, you can totally get a seat.
The types of crepes are by sweets and savories, and they do have a lot of great combos or you can make your own. THe one that caught my eye was the chicken breast, tomatoes, and goat cheese, how amazing does that sound!?
It was fabulous and came out pretty quickly, too. The amount of goat cheese was perfect(a lot of it...mmmmm). The crepe was nice and big, but I didn't feel like I was being bombarded with fattening ingredients. It looked a bit bland on the plate in it's square form, but it was perfect and it totally hit the spot.
They also have great coffee, nothing special, just good. The service is great too, very very attentive.
I will be coming back here again now that I've tried it once.

Gelati
Categories: Desserts, Ice Cream & Frozen Yogurt
Came to visit some friends in Naperville and they raved about this place, so naturally, I was alll ready to go!
They have a ton of flavors, seasonal and regular. Their mixtures are pretty creative too, just ask them what's in them and try it too!
Their prices are pretty good for it too and you can mix flavors. The consistency of this stuff is great. We looked across the street at Coldstone(which I also love) but this place had wayyy more business--probably because you can't get Gelato just anywhere!
5 stars, i wish you were down the straight from me in Chicago :(

I always heard that it was great, and to not judge it by it's crappy overhead sign.
There is outdoor seating and minimal indoor seating, but this place serves quality Mexican.
With an extensive menu of apps, dinner, lunch, and a la carte(choose from this menu, actually a lot cheaper) this place has it all--EXCEPT Margaritas...damn.
They use real chicken...not the bits n dicey pieces some crappy places serve.
Service is super quick and they have great chips! The salsa is ok, they have both red and salsa verde.
I would suggest the burritos and tacos, chicken or steak, both great!
Location--for me at least. Restaurant is nicely sized and they have outdoor seating, great for ppl watching
Menu-huge, granted you can only do so much with middle eastern food, but still great!
Service-orders are taken in a timely manner and they are nice
Bathrooms-hey, they're actually super clean!
As for the food, I've never had a bad meal here. I tend to stick with the chicken kebob roll or spicy kafta or beef rolled. I could probably eat these all day and not get sick. They have great hummus/pita bread and combo dinner platters too that are pretty big. A friend of mine swears on the fattoush salad!
They sell beer and wine, though I've never sat down with either. Carry-out here is great, never tried delivery though.
This is my neighborhood staple and I hope it never leaves!!

Angelina Ristorante
Categories: Italian, Breakfast & Brunch
Neighborhood: Lakeview
This place is great and quaint.
Right off of broadway is a great location for this place, IMHO. Although sitting outside is kind of annoying because the 36 bus always stops on Addison--be weary of that.
Any of the pasta dishes are great, and they aren't too big that you feel like a pig eating all of it. They have pretty good bread, and appetizers--I had the Pollo Angelina and it was fantastico! Just a great little Italian place in the midst of all of sushi/bars/mexican around this area :)

The seating is really nice, but a little cramped while you're walking to the back room. The service was good too, but I think our waitress got annoyed that we were taking super long to order food
Great Calamari... great burgers!

Royale of London Inc
Category: Hair Salons
Neighborhood: Lakeview
Coming to Chicago more than 2 years ago, I have tried 4 salons to perfect my hair color. However, for cutting, I try to go to cheaper places...and very very less frequently.
I have lived in this area for a little under 2 years now and for some reason, never tried Royale out before (and I'm kicking myself for it now!!)
I made an appt the day of and got in an hour later. Eli cut my hair, and it took him no time at all. I told him exactly what I wanted, without even showing a picture. 4 days later, the hair cut is still withholding, no stray hairs, no blunt ugly bangs, no split ends, I really got a great haircut that even I LIKE--as well as others!
Like I said, I hate getting my hair cut, even more than getting it colored, so dependent on my hair cut alone, I might even have to try Royale for my coloring soon, too!
I would def. recommend this place, esp. if you live around the area.

Sunda
Category: Asian Fusion
Neighborhoods: Near North Side, River North
Sunda offers and extensive menu of asian-fused cuisine that most people choose to share. They do have big dishes you can eat on your own, but it's much more fun to just order a bunch of hot or cold apps and dig in.
They have sushi, noodle dishes, and innovative salads that make it easy to try and share.
The rock shrimp, blue crab noodle dish, crab cake sashimi are fantastic.
They also have amazing mochi in a bunch of great flavors.
The atmosphere is pretty happenin on most nights and there is a lot of great seating available.

Coming here for lunch is the best getaway from work--atleast if you work downtown.
They have a great prix fixe lunch menu that is $17 for soup or salad, sandwich, and dessert. You could even do a la carte and everything would be worth it.
They have a great selection of cheap cheese for starters and excellent frites--also very cheap for the large amount that you get.
I had the smoked salmon club which was excellent and came with a small side salad.
The salads are really colorful and u can add chicken or steak to most for about $2 or $3.
Their dessert is great too, try to lemon or lime bars--they are basically like cheesecake bars or keylime pie almost.
The atmosphere is really clean but not pretentious.
I will def come back here again, maybe even for dinner!

So glad this place, Mezza, has made it into the loop.
I love me some medi food, and now I have a resource for it right by work!
Chicken Kebobs, kefta kebobs, pita, hummus, many traditional sides--my dream!
This place is really hoppin during the lunch hours, I think people are refreshed to find this place within all the cafes and bakeries downtown. The line goes pretty quickly, but the people serving don't know the menu too well. Since they have a la carte, and plates, I think they get confused...but no matter, the food is still great you just have to double check what you order.
Their hummus and pita is great, how can you go wrong? The prices are standard, restaurant super clean, and location perfect(for me atleast).
This will def. become a regular lunch spot for me to get thru my work days.
