This places annoys me.  I hate the people and the atmosphere during lunch.  There's yelling and screaming and throwing and all kinds of lost-in-the-jungle activity.  I hate it.

HOWEVER, damn the bread is good.  I endure the visit just so I can sit at my desk back at work and eat the sandwich.  I've always been a sucker for bread and Jimmy John's, unfortunately for my stress levels, has the best sandwich bread downtown.

Eh, whatever.  I had lunch here today and was turned off by the constant unecessary yelling and screaming by everyone in the restaurant.  It's lunchtime downtown, everyone is tired, hungry, stressed, in need of a one-hour break from the pain (work) and what does Jimmy Johns offer?  Some frightening yelling and barking of orders.  "Stand here" "#1 there" "HEY YOU, HURRY UP!"  No thanks.

The sub itself was pretty good.  The problem is I had to take it back to my office to eat it because I had to literally retreat from the restaurant.

THIS PLACE IS GARBAGE.  Yes, I feel that strongly about it.  To me, it represents all the pompous and misguided 'eliteness' that used to be a mainstay in the Brickell area.

The service at this place is unfriendly.  The food is ok, but attaching a fancy french name to a tomato sandwich and charging 10 bucks for it is insulting.

ATTENTION LA PROVENCE: you are a coffee shop, stop charging restaurant prices and stop acting like eating at your place is a privilege for a select few.  You are not that special.

If all chain restaurants were like this one, then chain restaurants wouldn't be as horrendous and generic as we all know them to be.  The food is good and cheap and the atmosphere is relaxed and hospitable.

If you live in Kendall and want to grab a bite near home that doesn't break the bank or come with an attitude, hit Bahama Breeze.

As far as Ale House's go, this place is near the bottom of the bin.  My food was typical Ale-House cheapy seafood.  But who goes to Ale House for food?  People go to Ale House for sports!  The TV's were small and old school!  Where are the large digital flat screens?  I could see 6 TV's from where I was sitting, the problem is that I could not see the games clearly because the TV's were so freakin' small.

You are better off watching the Game at home or listening on the radio.

I just ate here again over the weekend with the wife.  I take back any comments about the prices at this place.  This may be the all-around best lunch spot downtown.  My wife and I had a huge incredibly delicious lunch for under $20. That's for both of us.

The Bruschetta was so fresh and herby it was almost too good to be true.  This place really serves the best Italian food in Miami.  Case closed.

This place is VERY good.  The pasta is fresh, it tastes homemade, and the people are fast and friendly.  I work down the street from this place and I can't believe I'm just discovering it.  If it was just a little cheaper it would be perfect, but hey, you gotta pay a little more for quality stuff.   This spot may easily have the best tasting pasta in Miami. .

Barton G the Restaurant

This place, as everyone has already noted, is all about presentation.  While the food is delicious, it's really a restaurant about gimmicks and smoke and mirrors.

They try to disguise their exorbitant prices with sparklers and moving fish robots on your plate.  While cupcake Jenga and Nitrogen-cooled drinks are really cool, they are also 40-50 dollars a pop.

But the real discomforting part about this place is the tightness of the spacing.  Our group of five, with reservations made well in advance, was packed in a corner closely (very closely) surrounded by dozens of loud screaming tables.  I didn't even have a backrest in my seat!  People in this place are packed in too tight and that takes away from any sensations or 'feeling' they are trying to build with the food presentation.

Overall, if you want to spend big-time bucks, there are nicer more elegant places in Miami for a special event or dinner.  If you like pouring steak sauce out of a ceramic cow, then this is the place for you.

Very nice.  The presentation was excellent and the food was delicious.  Best of all, everything was free!  It's nice for an event to not just meet my expectations, but surpass them.  Well done Mari!!!!

This place is expensive -- very expensive.  But, you do get a lot for your buck.  My wife and I spent an evening here to celebrate our wedding anniversary.  If you like being pampered and almost spoon-fed your dinner, than this is the place.  It is probably the best "special ocassion" restaurant in Miami.

Food:  Excellent
Service: Outrageously Excellent
Venue: Nice view, but not fall-out-of-your-seat nice
Overall Experience:  Worth it

What a nice lunch place.  I had a mushroom soup that was deadly good.  It was like a puree a la good-as-hell.  Their quiche is unbelievably tasty--almost like a cuban omelet covered in cheese with a hard crust.  So good.

Ironically, their french fries were very tasty.  They remind me of 1980's Mcdonald's fries; before they took all the good stuff out of them and turned them into the crap they serve now.

Can't wait to take the wife to this place.  It's cheap too!

Everyon raves about this place.  It is pretty, trendy, it smells good, they serve water in a fancy glass, and the food presentation is very elegant.  The soup and the rolls I ate were also pretty tasty.  So what's the problem?  Where's the fish???  The pieces of fish in my sushi were so small I could barely taste them.  Even an obvious flavor like Tuna was lost in the rolls.

The service was a little slow too.  It was lunch time and one of our rolls took almost 1/2 an hour to be served.

I'll eat here again and see if it was just a crappy day.  Stay tuned.
