Eh, whatever. I had lunch here today and was turned off by the constant unecessary yelling and screaming by everyone in the restaurant. It's lunchtime downtown, everyone is tired, hungry, stressed, in need of a one-hour break from the pain (work) and what does Jimmy Johns offer? Some frightening yelling and barking of orders. "Stand here" "#1 there" "HEY YOU, HURRY UP!" No thanks.
The sub itself was pretty good. The problem is I had to take it back to my office to eat it because I had to literally retreat from the restaurant.
The service at this place is unfriendly. The food is ok, but attaching a fancy french name to a tomato sandwich and charging 10 bucks for it is insulting.
ATTENTION LA PROVENCE: you are a coffee shop, stop charging restaurant prices and stop acting like eating at your place is a privilege for a select few. You are not that special.
:)
If you live in Kendall and want to grab a bite near home that doesn't break the bank or come with an attitude, hit Bahama Breeze.
You are better off watching the Game at home or listening on the radio.

The Bruschetta was so fresh and herby it was almost too good to be true. This place really serves the best Italian food in Miami. Case closed.

This place is VERY good. The pasta is fresh, it tastes homemade, and the people are fast and friendly. I work down the street from this place and I can't believe I'm just discovering it. If it was just a little cheaper it would be perfect, but hey, you gotta pay a little more for quality stuff. This spot may easily have the best tasting pasta in Miami. .
They try to disguise their exorbitant prices with sparklers and moving fish robots on your plate. While cupcake Jenga and Nitrogen-cooled drinks are really cool, they are also 40-50 dollars a pop.
But the real discomforting part about this place is the tightness of the spacing. Our group of five, with reservations made well in advance, was packed in a corner closely (very closely) surrounded by dozens of loud screaming tables. I didn't even have a backrest in my seat! People in this place are packed in too tight and that takes away from any sensations or 'feeling' they are trying to build with the food presentation.
Overall, if you want to spend big-time bucks, there are nicer more elegant places in Miami for a special event or dinner. If you like pouring steak sauce out of a ceramic cow, then this is the place for you.

Yelp's Spice Trade at the Mandarin Oriental
Category: Local Flavor
Food: Excellent
Service: Outrageously Excellent
Venue: Nice view, but not fall-out-of-your-seat nice
Overall Experience: Worth it
Ironically, their french fries were very tasty. They remind me of 1980's Mcdonald's fries; before they took all the good stuff out of them and turned them into the crap they serve now.
Can't wait to take the wife to this place. It's cheap too!
The service was a little slow too. It was lunch time and one of our rolls took almost 1/2 an hour to be served.
I'll eat here again and see if it was just a crappy day. Stay tuned.

HOWEVER, damn the bread is good. I endure the visit just so I can sit at my desk back at work and eat the sandwich. I've always been a sucker for bread and Jimmy John's, unfortunately for my stress levels, has the best sandwich bread downtown.
