These are the only people I've let touch my skull in years. They have awesome folks, punk/urban atmosphere, good music and free wi-fi. If that ain't enough for ya, try the DLX cut... It's like being transported back to the old West when people went to the barber for a reason (even cowboys needed to feel pampered from time to time).

Pumpkin appetizer and lamb kabob were amazing. The atmosphere was airy with music not relegated to a subliminal murmur (they had a band on the outside court when I went at lunch, too). The waitress was sweet and engaging. I guess what I'm saying is: what's with the negative reviews?

It's quirky - the cooks were wearing funny hair - but the music was a bit jarring. It's pretty pricey. The food was good, but I think I prefer the food and atmosphere from the sister restaurant, Mamma Lucia.

You don't sit to eat one of their burritos, you stand and salute it.
But, you are also crying - because you are destroying a work of art... but you can't help it because it is so tasty!

Really, I challenge anyone to find a better burrito north of the border. Everything here is cooked so well. I've tried all of the flavors and haven't been disappointed yet. The salsa bar is also one of the few to actually have verde - yummy.

Don't let the location fool you. This place is the best Italian restaurant in Santa Cruz & one of the nicest I have been since I left Chicago.

I took a chance on it when my wife (then girlfriend) had her car break down and walked across the street to treat her to something nice to take her mind off of her troubles. It was one of the first places we went while dating and was a good start to the "courtship".

But enough about me. The atmosphere is cozy with rustic murals, finishing off the authentic feel. Our server (also part owner) is very accommodating and friendly (and likes Frank Zappa - we were instant pals). In contrast to many Italian places, there is a healthy choice of vegetarian fare and all of it tastes amazing. They specialize in seafood and fresh, local fish are often used in the specials.

Top of the list for me here is the gnocchi dish, the crostini with eggplant and you must try the limoncello liqueur. You must, I say.

First of all, I'm seeing a lot of people that didn't like the place because of the food. You are silly. You go there to drink. Silly, silly people. Also, please no more making Americans look like racist jerks. Please stop. Maybe you got the rude act because you were being the typical American loudmouth. And, then, maybe that's part of the charm. Some places like Ed Debevic's in Chicago use that as a schtick.

This place is fun, and the closest thing I have been able to find to a tiki-bar in the NW.

One of the only things to do in ABQ and also a nice little joint to-boot. It's got my prerequisite funky atmosphere, fairly priced beer, oh, and did I mention that there's NO Cover! At least not that I've experienced. Just walk in here or the place next door and listen to free live music. That's unheard-of. Even in the tiny little berg I've been living near in WA where they almost always charge on a Fri. night.
The latter outweighs any gripes one can come up with, especially since I've paid just to be able to drink at a bar where the band is knocking my eardrums with bad, bad riddims.

Small, darkly-lit, comfy and one of the 2 bars that are worth a damn in L.A. There is no need to put on airs here. And the decor has a kind-of Bob Crane feel - swank yet sleazy, which I for one am drawn to.

L.A.'s a big place, and still this is one of the 2 I'd be caught dead in. It really is the best place to go for a cheap, unassuming beer and the occasional live set. And if you get hungry, the best deli on the W. Coast is just a door-jam away.

This is the best place in Chicago to see a live show. It's small, has interesting stuff on the walls and other distractions and if you can get through the door, there is almost always a great band playing...are Hubers still a dollar? Yeah, I'm old and haven't been there for a bit.
