My friend asked if they had bananas foster for dessert. Our waiter said yes and brought out bananas foster CHEESECAKE. Uhm, ok? Again, we were in a hurry, so we didn't fix it but my friend ended eating only the bananas on his dessert.
I'm not coming back.

First time here, I had the green curry with chicken which was a 3 star in my book. Portions were definitely more than filling. The second time I went, I got the Pad See U with pork, which was a dish I saw another friend had the first time I went. It's very reminiscent of a dish I had back in Hong Kong and tastes pretty much the same. Delicious. 4.5 stars. Next time I go back, I'll definitely order it again. My recommendations. Both times I had the Roti Canai, the smell is luxurious and saliva-inducing, a bit pricey for what you get though.
Okay prices, could be better, but again, the portions are generous. No qualms with service.
Generally, good memories.

However, the food left much to be desired. I had the baked chicken. The chicken was ok. It looked like it had been mass packaged and unfrozen, like cafeteria food. It wasn't great and friends' other chicken options were definitely lacking on the chicken. The Mizithra cheese was piled on and it was super super super salty. I could not finish it. It was cheap, most definitely. But I would rather get higher quality food than more food.
I won't be coming back, needless to say.

We ordered the hot chocolates. I had the mexican one. I didn't notice what he ordered since we were so engaged in conversation. Service was good for what little we ordered. But I was surprised to find the hot chocolate a bit lacking for it being so pricey and under the Max Brenner name. It simply was neither hot nor chocolatey enough. For this price, I expected MarieBelle or Jackques Torres quality. I got none of that. The hot chocolate menu was pretty extensive though.
Honestly, I wasn't that impressed but since I didn't have anything else, like the chocolate syringe my boyfriend raves about, I'll be fair and give it 3 stars. Kind of a tourist trap if you ask me.
For main courses, he ordered the lamb burger and I got the chicken. He enjoyed the lamb burger but it didn't look "pretty" to me nor as filling as my dish. My chicken was pretty good and it took me twice the time of my boyfriend to finish it. I cleaned it to the bone.
For dessert, I had the olive oil cake and he had the bread pudding. My oilive oil cake, ironically, was somewhat dry. I had to mix the ice cream it came with into it so I wouldn't choke. My bf enjoyed the bread pudding. It was ok, but I'm not a big fan of bread pudding.
The waiter was very nice. Good service. He gave us some suggestions and made some small talk which a lot of people don't do nowadays.
Ambience? I was a bit thrown off by how casually dressed people were there. We were "dressy" as listed on this yelp page, but you can definitely come in jeans. The lighting was atrocious. I guess they wanted it to be romantic~ but the only thing we had for lighting at our table was a tiny candle flickering at the center of our table. Very bad if you're like me and want to take pictures of every single dish that sit on the table (pictures are uploaded to yelp).
All in all, it was a good experience, but not something that stood out.
The ambience is actually really nice. I liked it a lot. Being Asian, I felt a bit out of place but it had a cool vibe. The chicken wings were huge. Loved them. They are v. v. good. I couldn't finish all of it.
The waffle wasn't anything special. It was better than Eggo but I didn't find anything amazing with them. The boyfriend liked the waffles though.
The fried green tomatoes are amazing. It was my first time trying them ever and they were oh so yummy. Peach cobbler a la mode was also good.
Service was good. There was a bit of a mix up, but that got fixed fast. Our waiter was polite.
I would come back on special occasions. But a definitely recommend. The prices aren't bad but won't fly on my college budget!

The soup dumplings weren't anything special or that much different from Shanghai Cafe's. So if you're looking for soup dumplings, head there. God knows the line should be much shorter, and it's probably cheaper too.
IIRC, I had no complaints with the service.

We had to order two orders of dumplings because there is a minimum of $4.50 per person..so that sucked. The service was pretty poor. Our water never got refilled. The dumplings were good, but nothing that I would come back for. I'm glad that I tried it though.
On the plus side, there was no line.

Shake Shack

We also shared an order of fries which I thought were a-ok, but the bf thought they were enh. The line wasn't particularly long; we waited around 15 min for our food to get ready, which I think is pretty reasonable.
I'm super curious about the concretes though and the shake stack sure looked good so I'll be back. It's really nice sitting in the park with the dogs running around, even in the middle of winter.

Not sure if I want to come back either. Nothing really caught my eye, or my tastebuds.
