Service can be slow and bathrooms are tiny. The food is good but not great. The prices are about right for what you are getting. The reason it is getting four versus three stars is the free ice cream and wifi.
If you want filet-mignon for lunch at hamburger prices look no further. The crazy potatoes that come with them are awesome, maybe even better than the filet...just kidding. The atmosphere leaves a lot to be desired and the place is dark.
I've only been for lunch and the service is usually pretty quick.

I go here a lot because it is two block from my house. The red beans with hot sausage is a staple and the fried oysters are great when I want to splurge. The food here is home-style and the serving sizes are large. You can take a family of four here and not break the bank either. It is kinda out of the way (the W. Metairie location) and you may never see a tourist unless they are accompanied by a local.
My wife and I used to stop here about once a month on the way home from church. The atmosphere is very family-friendly and the decor down-home. The food is fabulous and I think their jambalaya is one of the best in south Louisiana.

Great food at excellent prices. You get large portions of well-seasoned seafood here. The boiled seafood is excellent and if you're like me and like it hot, they will drop it back in the boil pot to reheat it for you if it has been sitting for a little while.
If you go on a Friday get there early or be prepared to wait. The line can be long and the seating in the waiting area is limited. The owner is there working hard and the wait staff is good but not exceptional.
If you want good fried, boiled, or blackend seafood served in a family-friendly atmosphere you need to check out Kenner Seafood.

This pizza taste great and has the added bonus of being gluten free and having all fresh ingredients. They even grow some of them on the roof.
