If you want to look sharp, go here and ask for the salesman named Saint. I had him today and wow, I was impressed.

Here's the reasons you should ask for Saint:
1) He is SOOO good at presenting combinations of shirts, ties, and suits
2) He knows the current fashions very well.
3) He pays attention to your tastes.
4) If that wasn't enough, here's the topper: He'll suggest many ways you can maximize your outfit. You aren't just buying one suit, he'll show you ways that you can use the suit as a sport jacket and match other pants. And he'll show you different shirts and ties that all work together.

I love mixing and matching my wardrobe, but Saint really took it to another level. For pricing, make sure to go in when you are renting a tuxedo, because you'll get 50% off your suits, shirts, ties, everything you buy.

5) Saint will listen to you. He'll show you different angles on how to see things. You can try things on. You can lay out the outfits on the table. Really. He gave me the full presentation.

This school rocked!

Even though it is now closed, when I attended from 1981 to 1989, this was a great school. Miss Moles, Mrs. Becker, Mr. Becker, Mrs. Martin, Mr Martin, Mr. Saunders, Miss Puffe and Mr. Miller. All wonderful teachers.

Football in the street with me ripping off a piece of trim on the car. Playing kickball with madballs. Texas sheetcake. Walcamp. Championship soccer teams. Tony's fake cast. Nate breaking his pole in cross-country skiing. Rudy passing out while doing a math problem. Crazy school buses.

All with a good solid Christian education.

The best plaza in Chicago.

I walk through this plaza every day. I like to leave public art in this plaza almost every day. What artwork you might find here:
+ a plastic treasure chest in the baby's arms of the Lombard Lamp
+ a chalk drawing of a puppy dog with a dog food dish. I change what's in his dish every time

Other things you'll find:
+ chalk drawings by all sorts of other kids on the european-style bricks
+ everyone in the community gathering to listen to the live bands every thursday night
+ fun conversations on benches
+ little babies running around on the weekend
+ a delightful fountain
+ historic lamp given to us from Germany
+ during christmastime, a giant shoe filled with regular shoes

I call this my nature park. In contrast Welles Park four blocks south is the social park.

If you want a nice walk through nature, this is your park. There are several willow trees that are nice to climb too.

I also leave little artworks around the park. Wire people handing from strings. See if you can try to find them. Currently there are three spread throughout the park! I posted images of them in the photos section.

This location has been open for over two years now and it still feels like an empty box. Granted it's in Illinois Center, so it's not really a place for ambiance. But still, if you like eating in a cardboard box, this is the place for you.

Aside from that, the food is really good. But it's pricey. I couldn't believe when i ordered just one sandwich. No drink. No side. No soup. Just one sandwich, and it came up to be over eight dollars. Huh?

I also came at 1:30pm, and I was the first person in line and it still took a while to get my sandwich -- Al's Special with Manny's Corn beef.

End story: If you are really looking for one of Halsted Street Deli's great sandwiches, go to another of their locations. This one has less character than a milk crate.

This Walgreens is so fancy for a Walgreens.

The grand opening private party was full of people in dark suits. It was like Demolition Man in 2032 and Taco Bell is the premiere fancy restaurant. It would have been so rad to see Sylvester Stallone and Wesley Snipes crash the party and cause general mayhem.

Now it's time for some sushi, barista-made coffee drinks, fresh bakery goods and made-to-order smoothies.

Best place to get wood cut. They have a HUGE tabletop wood cutter that is accurate. 50 cents a cut vs Home Depot's $1/cut. And that Menards that claims to have Chicago's largest lumber yard? Perhaps it's the largest, but they don't even have a sheet cutter. Please. You need wood cut, go here.

You must take someone here if you know someone who is a fan of these three things:
1) Chicago's bridges
2) Chicago River
3) Elevators

This place has an elevator inside one of the bridgetowers at Clark Street. That alone is the reason to go to this place. If you are looking for a bar/restaurant downtown, then this is the unique factor that makes this place different.

I always want to go inside the bridgetowers in Chicago. Other than the Bridge Museum on Michigan Avenue, you can't enter any of the other bridgetowers. But here you can not only enter one of the bridgetowers, but you can take and elevator in it.

Good:
-- Different
-- Fun (love the orange walls)
-- Tasty (although not super tasty)

Meh:
-- A bit pricey
-- Gave me gas
-- Even though we were sitting down, they brought our food to us in bags. Kinda strange. I know that's their standard thing to do. But it sorta made me feel like I wasn't supposed to stay and enjoy it. There's plenty of seating.

It's fun. But a little too pricey for lunch. If you or someone you know haven't been here, definitely go. I'll go back whenever I want to change up my lunch routine.

Now available at Trader Joes: The brand new Super crunchy milk chocolate covered peanuts are really good! Peanut core. Butterfinger crunchy around the peanut. Then covered in milk chocolate. Be wary if you buy them, because you won't be able to stop eating them.
