Santouka Ramen
Category: Japanese
Neighborhood: Kearny Mesa
My favorite ramen place in the City of San Diego!
Never fails me for any ramen & soup cravings. Because its inside Mitsuwa and is right beside another restaurant, it becomes hard to find a place to sit and eat sometimes! Especially on those rainy days!
Overall:
- CASH ONLY
- Service fast.
-Food Court seating (share with people who buy food @ Mitsuwa and another restaurant beside Santouka)
- Some Ramen options come w/a bowl of fried rice with meat or something else, depending on your preference.
- Some bowls are big enough to share for 2 people, especially with small appetites.
BOWL of Salt flavored Ramen with egg + Small bowl of rice w/meat + Togarashi = HAPPY ME!!

Yakyudori Yakitori & Ramen
Category: Japanese
Neighborhood: Kearny Mesa
Like Josh mentioned, its good to have another Yakyudori-sister restaurant open up! Especially one that's away from residential homes just in case I or people decide to get their fade on at Yakitori(:. Besides that, no hassle parking - that's always a good thing!
I was craaving ramen yesterday so my boyfriend and I decided to give Yakyudori Ramen a try! About 6 types of soups available, 3 appetizers, and 4-5 small bowls of rice are the only menu items available at the moment.
I tried the Chashu Ramen which was about $9.00 and my boyfriend tried the Nagoya Ramen (spicy one!), plus an order of Takoyaki. I wasn't really too impressed with my ramen; i thought I had better at Santouka. The meat was pretty tender , but I still prefer Santouka's. The noodles and the broth were okay. No instant-spark-of-I-LOVE-THIS-SOUP came over me.
However, I did like my boyfriends soup because I am ALL about SPICY soup!! Make my nose run and I am a fan. I'm just kidding. It was pretty tasty too.
The Takoyaki was pretty brown colored so I thought it was burnt, but after the first bite it wasn't. It was crrrunchy! I liked that!
Still no yakitori and liquor. Big bummer because I can't wait! Until then, I guess we'll impatiently wait until they have their liquor license & yakitori is served!!!!
Note: Lunch Special from 11AM - 3PM: Free Barley Tea

Based on fellow yelp reviews and because my body was craaaving for a massage, my friends and I tried this place last November.
Luckily, Qua Bath's had a special online, $99 for a 50 minute Swedish massage! Boyyyy, it was the most heavenly 50 minutes of my life. Not only do you get a GREAAAT massage for $99 dollars, we got to utilize all the other amenities at the spa. The 3 pools (one at 98 degrees, one at 100 something degrees, and another at another relaxing temperature) in the main room, the endless saunas, Jacuzzis, showers, blow dryers, FOOD and DRINKS! You get to use everything in the facility until it closes! We wanted to stay until it closed, but we, unfortunately, had stuff to do!! heheh.
WORTH EVERY SINGLE PENNY!
I really wished we had the massage BEFORE we left Vegas, instead of the very first day we were there but the special only applied from Monday to Thursday. Ahhh welll!
We all absolutely loved it.
NOTE: For 1st time massagers/customers, BRING/WEAR A BATHING SUIT. We failed to have time to change into our suits so we were given disposable tops & bottoms. One size fits all, btw. haha SoOO these disposable tops & bottoms did not necessarily cover everything we wanted. Especially for us shy ones. . .so we decided to use them AAAaaaaaand use a towel to cover ourselves!! (:
I look forward to go again on my next visit to Vegas! Which will be next weekend! WEEEEEEEEEEE!
Massage, exceptional!
Facility, AWESOME!
Staff, Nice & atttentative!!

Ramak Hookah
Category: Nightlife
Neighborhood: Hillcrest
After my brother, my boyfriend, and I had a scrumptious dinner at Yakitori, we decided to go on a whim and try out the new hookah bar/cafe next door.
I mean we've seen this specific store as a yogurt place, to a cafe, and now to a hookah bar/cafe.
Riight when we walked in, we seemed like the only asian or non-persian group to walk in. But don't let that stop or make anyone nervous! We just took it as "the real deal."
The place was arranged with 4 main couches and tables. It was a "pretty packed night so us three settled for a small "mahjong-looking-table" near the cashier. We're kindly greeted by a lady and she gives us a "menu." I've seen hookah menus before (Fumaris, Adam's, and Sinbads), but this menu had a plethora of flavors! Some I've never heard or imagined would be possible! There was Caramel Macchiato, Pumpus, Mango Mojito, Dark Arabian Coffee, etc, etc, etc. .
We felt overwhelmed so we asked for the lady's advice. She advised us the Caramel Macchiato was a tadbit on the strong side so she suggested the Pumpus. But then she added on that she can customize our order and add a tint of blueberry. Sounded good so we ordered it.
We sat around hooka-ing . . blowing O's, doing the waterfalls. . (hahaha!) and then a couple minutes later the dj starts playing music. Apparently, it was someones' birthday so they started blasting the music and few moments after the music started, the bday girl and friends start dancing! It was really entertaining and kinda fun! It got me clapping along! Although I am the shy one, the fun they had almost convinced me to join in on the festivities.
It was a paaarty!! The owner started spraying confetti and silly string! And later, glow sticks! haha :)
It was great!! We ended up staying until around 1:00AM when we started to get really tired. It was a great way to end our Sunday night or shall I say start our Monday morning! :)
For 2 teas and hookah, it came out to be $19 something plus some change.

IF YOU DON'T WANT TO SLEEP, here's the place!!
My family and I stayed here for TWO nights to visit my relatives. We could NOT get a peaceful nights sleep, AT ALL! The walls are SO thin that you could hear the outside traffic, anybody on the floor opening and closing their door, and my neighbors footsteps from upstairs! UGhhhh!
And since my brother and I shared a bed, every time he moved, the whole bed would move as well. As if the bed did not have a sturdy foundation. Now, my brother isn't heavy or big so it was unbelievable to find the bed move every time he moved.
Two stars for: free breakfast and decently clean. I guess I was happy bugs didn't appear out of no where!
However, WE WILL NOT STAY HERE EVER AGAIN!

Visiting my cousins, my family and I tried this place out!
My brother and I totally enjoyed our meal! Or shall I say meals! We kept coming back for more and more plates of food!
We loved the crab legs!! Verrry tasty! We also enjoyed the porkchops, crawfish, egg drop soup, and soo much more!! It was pretty crazy when we went because they over-booked three parties at once (including our party of like 20+ people).
I have not had the same quality and tasty Chinese buffet style food at San Diego. I hope I can find one?!
It was a great way to end a wonderful trip to SF.

i will always have to come here at least once every time i visit Vegas! an alternative for drunk late night eating steak & eggs! it's not the fanciest place so don't expect a whole lot. the prices are a bit over priced for a chinese place but its Vegas!

Opah!!! (Translation, "Cheers") Well cheers to this little gem!
I tried this place out on the advice of a fellow co worker. I've only had a chance to eat the Kabobs and I love it in my tummy. (:
The atmosphere and vibe is nice and welcoming. The owner is soo nice - another PLUS in my book! Great food, great ambiance, and great customer service = A BIG HIGH FIVE and a big yelp, "Opah!"
I will be coming back soon! Reaaaaaaaaaaaaallll soon! Tomorrow probably! haha.

SUCKS its about 100 miles away from me!!!! :(
My boyfriend, brother, and I ALWAYS make a stop here when we come up!! Tried about everything grilled on the stick with Yozu Koshu and we liked!! Tender, juicy, and scrumptious. Whuuuuat, Quail eggs wrapped in bacon? So simple but soo OH-SO-GOOD! Not to mention the Yozu that added a touch of spiciness to every bite!!
Aand the cooks drink with the customers?! Hahaha, good times right? However it gets pretty loud in there since the waiters/waitresses/cooks yell when people leave, come in, cheers, or order?! It just seemed like they were shouting something every 2 minutes. I would not suggest babies to come. It's not exactly a baby-friendly environment, especially when other loud drunkards can add to the noise level.
My cup of tea was NEVER left empty! I had about 10 re-fills until I had to tell the waiter to stop! HEHE.
Great food, fast service, and the real dizzle!
Wish they had a location at San Diego!! Please.
