I hadn't been to a Bertucci's in a few years, but went to this one recently, and it did the trick. At the time, I didn't feel famished, so I opted for the Salad Giardino w/ Grilled Salmon Fillet. It was excellent! The salmon was perfect, and a very large portion! The rolls/ olive oil were delicious, too. I would go back again just to have those! :)

I stopped in here recently just to try their Harvest Spice Ale. This beer tastes nice, but it doesn't have the body I expected it would. I didn't stay for a second beer because I didn't really like the atmosphere. Too dark & too loud. I wouldn't go out of my way to go back to this place, but if I were in the neighborhood & starving, I might stop in one more time just to try a burger. We'll see...

Jacob Wirth has an impressive list of German beers! I recently tried the Aventinus Weizenstarkbier, a tall dark wheat beer w/ high alcohol content. I highly recommend it! :P

Ok. I had stopped in to this place for a beer before, but never had any food until today. I will say that the Clam Chowda is one of the best clam chowders I have ever tasted in my life (and I am even counting all the chowders I had at the Newport Chowderfest!). They should sell it by the bag so I can bring some home to heat up later! I also tried the crispy chicken wings. They were okay, but the potato pancakes were the best! Much better than boring old French Fries or Potato Skins any day. Oh, and the beer is selection is one of the best around. I had a Paulaner. It wasn't the same as having a beer in Germany, but it was pretty close! I'll be back! ;)

The service at this bank seems to have gotten much better than it has been in the past. Whenever I go, the same woman is always there to greet me, and I never have to wait in line too long. Today, I laughed when the teller asked me why I was depositing a check at the window instead of at the ATM machine just outside. "It's just as easy and safe to make deposits at the machine", she said. I said "I prefer to deal with actual people'... If it weren't for customers like me, she may not even have a job!

Herrera's

I go to Herrera's for lunch on occasion because it's fast, filling, reasonably priced, and consistently tasty. I find this Herrera's to be better than the cart that's in the Transportation building because there are more menu choices, and the food here is actually hot.  :o

I am a fan of their Super-sized Steak Fajita Wrap, but I also enjoy their taco salads & burritos (with guacamole). The only thing I feel they could approve upon is their sour cream. It is like a watered-down version that they squirt out of a bottle - not exactly how I would do it at home!

Quincy Historical Society

The Quincy Historical Society is housed in the Adams Academy building, a national historic landmark. The building stands on the site of the colonial house that was the birthplace of the patriot John Hancock and was later the home of Josiah Quincy Sr. and Josiah Quincy, Jr. In 1822, President John Adams deeded properties to the town of Quincy to establish a fund to build a college preparatory school for boys on this site. The Adams Academy finally opened in the fall of 1872. The building features a gothic revival style and a distinctive use of Quincy granite.

Today, the Quincy Historical Society is an excellent place to learn a little more about the history of our great country. The Society maintains collections of historical archives and artifacts and its museum & library are open to the public year-round. It also offers a variety of publications and programs for the general public and provides instruction on local history in area schools.

The Society is walking distance from the Quincy Center T stop, and there is a parking lot in the back of the building. If you go, allow about an hour to visit the site, as well as the gift shop! Also keep an eye out for upcoming special events at the Society! Currently, the Quincy Historical Society & the Quincy Art Association are presenting 'Abigail in Perspective', an exhibit of art works in all mediums inspired by Abigail Adams. The show runs until January 8, 2010, so stop by and take a peek! :)

South Shore Buick - CLOSED

I took my Buick here a few times until they tried to charge me $1800 to fix the A/C on my 22-yr old Buick. So, I took my car down the street & had the same job done for 1/3 of the price. I also found out that SS Buick lied to me about what parts I actually needed... So, I wasn't surprised when they  went out of business!

TD Garden

Category: Stadiums & Arenas

4 star rating

I get to see the TD Garden from a different perspective than most people - from backstage. I have worked there for over a decade setting up concerts & special events. My only complaint about the building is that the loading "dock" was not designed well. Tractor trailors have to back up a very steep ramp into the 3rd level of the building and then steer around large columns before the truck gets unloaded. Most drivers are not good at this, so it adds a significant amount of time to the load-in/ load-out! Also, the loading dock area is not very big. We can only fit 5 or 6 trucks in the building at once, which is not sufficient since most big rock shows have 12 - 18 trucks on the average! (Sometimes we are able to use the 2 -truck dock in the basement on load-outs, which helps a lot.) Aside from the flaws in the building design, It is a pretty cool place to see a concert or game. I don't think there is a bad seat in the house (unless you buy a cheap concert ticket & end up behind a video screen or something). Have fun!!

What a cute park! I stopped here recently because it was the best place to sit and have a hot chocolate from the Starbucks right across the street. I couldn't help but to notice all of the cute little sparrows hopping around in the bushes and trees! Some of them were birds that I had never seen before! At the time, I had wished I had a muffin or something to share with the birds, and at the very same moment, someone walked up to my table to inform me that feeding the birds in NYC is not allowed. He also invited me to take the following online survey about feeding the birds in Bryant Park and other parks in NYC. http://a.parsons.edu/~... Turns out, I am for the birds! :) http://www.nycbirds.com/

I would've liked to spend more time checking out this theatre, but I picked up my Jersey Boys tickets at the box office 7 minutes before the show started, so didn't really have much time. Overall, this is a pretty small theatre, but the lobby, bar, and restroom areas are not. I was very happy with my seats - sat in the center of the house-left orchestra section, so was able to see & hear the show very well! If you go, definitely check your coat/umbrella like I did because you won't have much room for it sitting at your seat. Rows are a little tight, but seats are comfortable! Enjoy! :)
