Scoutmob invited me to eat at Shout. I decided, hey, it's a nice evening outside, Shout's not that far, and I get 50 percent off. Ok. Lets go there. I regret that decision. The food really wasn't that bad. I had the pork chop. It was supposed to come with Cheese Grits and Collard Greens. I don't like collard greens so I subbed them for a side caesar salad. Mind you, on the "Side's" menu, the collards are 6 dollars and the salad was 4. That being said, an even trade would have been fine with me. Well, apparently not for them as I was charged 2 dollars for the trade...so in essence a 4 dollar difference. Ok, now back on topic The pork chop. It was just aight. Definitely not the best I"ve had in the ATL. (I'm about to make a list on here re: best Pork Chop in the A). The cheese grits were freaking amazing. The Caesar Salad was pretty good too.

The service sucked...and I was at a bar high top and our waitress had all of like 3 tables. But really, she wasn't good. She came to take our order, clear our food (she even cleared my not completely finished glass of wine...ummm...no ma'am), and bring us our check. She was slow, rarely asked us how we were, etc. As a rule, I tip 20-22 percent at a restaurant, and yes, I realize scoutmob warns me that a business may add an 18 percent gratuity (I've never been to a restaurant that actually had done that though with scoutmob), but if they do, I don't tip additional. And I didn't. I wouldn't go back unless a friend had another scoutmob to use. It really wasn't worth it, and I rarely say that.

Brunch+Scoutmob+$10 bottomless mimosas=not as good as I had hoped. The food was aight, the service was slow, and the wait was long. The seating doesn't take advantage of all the space of the building, and the food, while good, was sort of plain. The service was SLOW...like slower than the maple syrup on my pancakes.

Michael's....it's right across from where I work. It's a great place for yummy sandwiches, chips, drinks, and the ever prominent tv playing trashy court shows. It tastes so good, and it's cheap.

5 Napkin Burger

I HATE to give one star reviews. Actually, I'm not sure I ever have. This was perhaps the worst restaurant experience I have EVER had in the ATL. It's not so much that I payed 15 dollars for a burger and fries, and another 10 dollars each PER drink, it's that the food, and service simply sucked. I can't say it in any other way. Let me first say that I was with a party of 6 (total). But we had 5 burgers and a salad. It took almost an HOUR to get our burgers after we had ordered.  I specifically asked the waitress if "medium" was actually pink, and her response was "very". That's the way I like my burger. Pink. Medium. Well, next time I'll be sure to order it Pittsburgh Blue so that it's an appropriate shade of pink. Mine was well-done. Not only did the over cooked food take an hour to get, all the other food was sub-par too.

Since we are on the topic of food, I will go ahead and address the issue of dessert. Several people  in my party wanted to order the brownie, but it has "peanuts" in it. Really? Peanuts? Not walnuts or pecans? That's just wrong. They finally settled on the Pecan Pie. Which our waitress had no idea had Bourbon in it. We asked her and she said, "Let me go check". When she returned, she informed the table that the box it came in said, "Bourbon Street". Nice. A box. Classy. Definitely worth 7 bucks. Oh, and the "boxed" version of the Pecan Pie? Congealed corn syrup TOPPED with a few pecans. I may not talk like it, but I AM from the South. I have my standards for Pecan Pie. And that DOES NOT meet them. Plus, my party guests said that it tasted like it had just been taken out of the freezer and it hadn't even fully defrosted yet. Gross. So much for that microwave y'all probably have.

And for real? 30 minutes to VERY POORLY separat\e our checks? Really? I'm still not sure what I actually paid for, but the price was in the ball park...I think. On another note, classy or not, I don't like places with glass ketchup bottles. They're a pain my ass. Just no. Don't do it.
For 30 bucks I could have gone to restaurant week, gotten a better meal, and paid less. Unacceptable. If it lasts more than 6 months, it's because it's in a baller location. There's more, I'm just disgusted that this burger joint in perhaps the biggest and best "Burger" city in the Country was a hellish experience. It really was that bad, so I'm gonna let the brave souls that do venture there figure it out. Oh, and Open Table, no Wednesday available reservations? Uh huh. Why was it close to empty (yes, that makes EVERYTHING worse). Oh, and I asked several times if they could turn the Braves game on. Did that happen? Not in the 2.5 hours we were there. And no, I don't want to watch Anderson Cooper without subtitles (really at all, but that made it worse) at a Burger Joint. Give me some baseball. Thanks.

HOToberfest Launch Party...What can I say that hasn't been said before. Like Kristin B. I like beer, and it was a beer drinker's delight. I also like free...and it was free. So, I'm good on those accounts. It also got me super excited about HOToberfest. Sounds like a total blast. Beer and Music Festival...all for charity? Yes please.

Oh, and the food? Lets just say that my initial complaints about Ormsby's have been resolved.

What better way to prepare for the rapture than a five star dinner and drinks before attending "Church" next door? I've been here several times, but this is the first time I have actually had a full meal with drinks here. First off, the bar staff was great. All of them. Cafe Circa has a great happy hour special, and is also a scoutmob restaurant which really helps as well.

We started out with the lamb ribs, and the chicken sausage (both of which are 5 bucks for happy hour) and both were phenomenal. I only wish there had been more sausage. For dinner I moved on to the pork chop and my friend had the shrimp and grits. With my PC I ordered a side of the stone ground grits...I won't tell you how good it is, because I don't want other people to find out my little secret. But lets just say that if people found out. Well...

For dessert? the peach cobbler served ala mode with Jake's "Brown Shugah" Ice cream. O. M. G.. After eating that, I'd have been content with the rapture happening right then because I was already in heaven.

Great service, strong drinks, outstanding food, great fun.

Doctors Express Urgent Care

Update - 5/10/2011
Wow. I don't give many 5-star reviews, and then get to update them with another 5-star review. I came in today around 3:30 to get this nasty cough that had persisted checked on. From the minute I walked in, the friendly staff greeted me with courtesy and kindness, were very efficient, and appeared to be on top of their game. They had overcharged me last time accidentally, and were quick to inform me that I had a credit with them from an overcharge. Thats ok, things happen.

I was quickly called back to the first room where vital signs, temperature, history, etc is taking and that girl was super cool, and was very quick. And then back to the doctor. She was super concerned. Like Marv H., I agree the new doc is http://thebomb.com. She was super concerned, took her time, and even walked me through my chest xrays, showing me and explaining everything.

After having a horrible experience with a MinuteClinic inside of  a Walgreens I needed to go to urgent care on friday as I had sore throat that I could sense was getting worse. I stop in to Express because I had seen some good reviews and it was on my way home. So I stopped in and was the only person in the waiting room. I was taken back in about 10 minutes after my benefits and insurance stuff was verified....saw the nurse who did her thing, then went back to the room and saw the doctor within 5 minutes, and then 5 minutes later, my strep test came back negative, doctor treated me because my throat was very read. Doc was GREAT.

Googie Burger

I'm not really feeling googie over googie burgers. Sure, the location is great, and is right across the street from my office, but I just wasn't feelin' the food. The burgers left a lot to be desired. The alleged 1/4 pound single patty burger was paper thin, tasteless, and really not that good. I was left feeling like the commercial from old: "Where's the beef". It would get 2 stars, but their fries were pretty great, so I'm bumping up to 3 stars.

l had a really great haircut here. I'm picky about who I let cut my hair, and I came in for just a trim. My stylist Jason did a great job. He noticed some dandruff and volunteered a complimentary shampoo with their tea tree oil shampoo to help moisturize the scalp to see if that helps. Normally, places that use texturizing shears lose a star for that if they don't point-cut the texture in, but Jason straight-razored and then sheared. Classy.

The Tenth Thai Cuisine & Lounge

I'm picky when it comes to Thai food but The Tenth impressed me. Having eaten at Lotus of Siam in Las Vegas, arguably the top Thai restaurant in Vegas. Anyways, the appetizer of Chicken Satay was flavored perfectly, and not too salty (although the portion size was very small) and the lamb was great and cooked perfectly medium rare. It was spicy but tasty. Great place, great service, I will definitely go back. The mango sticky rice for dessert was to tie for as well. Have them add some Coconut Ice Cream on the side :-D Yummy Yummy!
