HOORAY for:
ribs - awesome, no matter how you get them!
pulled pork - soft and not too wet or dry - delicious!
collard green - whaaaat?! it has chunks of bacon and is super tangy!
fried mac and cheese - you MUST get these! so gooooey, crunchy, and delicious.
fried pickles - fried slices of pickled goodness.
BOO for:
brisket - boo...4 super thin slices that were dry!
corn bread - generic and they are *tiny* (I'm talking 1.5 x 1 inch squares).
cole slaw - nothing to write home about.
baked beans - ditto as cole slaw
Overall, a great addition to the Ballard food scene! Reasonably priced stuff that's $7 for a sandwich and $12 for a plate (comes with 2 sides). Sides are either $3 or $2. Corn bread is $1.
**non-food related complaint - some of the sides are small. For example, the $2 items like collard greens, cole slaw and beans come in containers that some restaurants use to give out ketchup/tarter sauce. When I think southern food and sides, I think ice cream scoop sized dollops. Oh well, I am probably just a little piglet. *oink*
