So there I was pissing and moaning on a Wednesday night when a friend invited me out for a late bite and drinks. "Yard House" she said. Those two words made me twitch a little. I was prepping myself for the worst. Long lines, a huge crowd on weeknight for their late happy hour. just complete negativity. What actually happened was quite the opposite. My friend got us a booth and we had really good service. It wasn't packed at all but a decent amount of customers. No pushing and shoving around this time! Woo hoo! I can see the bartender and he got my drink order right away! Pumpkinhead on draft for $4 is a-okay!

I went on a Wednesday night for the 10pm- Close happy hour and it was incredibly packed. Good thing my friends had been there for a while or I could have seen myself waiting 30 minutes for a table. Although it was packed I had a great waiter (Marcelo) who provided excellent service the entire time. $4 draft beer specials is nothing to get excited about. If it had been $3 and it would have been a great deal. For 10 buffalo wings it was $5 something. Plenty of HD sports going around so i can see this as a good place to watch a Dolphin's game.
Still my main gripe was that there were too many people there especially for a weeknight. The amount of noice made it hard to talk to people across the table. Park near the Audi dealer on Ponce De Leon Blvd for free meter parking that expire at 10pm.
This little place is tucked away from all the busy noices and lights of Coconut Grove. I had not heard of Scotty's Landing until my friend who works nearby asked me to stop in and have a drink on a Friday afternoon. I didn't see any signs for the place and so it's very hush-hush and the local patrons seem to want to keep it that way. There's plenty of seating outside next to the marina where you can watch boats come in or set sail. Food service was very fast and the price was spot on. I enjoyed jalopeño poppers with my Blue Moon draft. The menu has typical bar food with some seafood thrown in the mix. I think if you were thinking of going to nearby Monty's you should come here and give this a try.
I go here for all my car washes. I also pick up the extra soap for the premium charge. My sedan is $15 and I feel for that price the service is good. You should go during non peak hours to avoid extra long lines. That means avoid during rush hour when it seems people leave work, get into their cars and decide that their car is dirty and all make a b-line for this place. You will drive up and stay in your car while they pressure hose your vehicle and much more. Then you get out and while they dry the exterior and clean the interior while you go and pay. It all takes about 15 minutes. They also do quick oil change but I never done that myself.
I can see Waxy's as serving multiple purposes for a good night. I've come here to start the night and another time to grab some food and end it. And let me tell you, it's such a difference then the Brickell Irish Pub. For starters the service here is great and the crowd is thin for a popular night such as Thursday or Friday. I'm okay with that! They have nice indoor area but what's really nice is the outdoor sitting area that is right on the Miami River and good views of the Miami skyline.
They have Chimay for $9 and regular draft beers going for $7. Yeah I'm not feeling it either. Do they have a happy hour? That would be nice to find out.

I've been to Jada Coles twice now and I must say I am extremely impressed with this place. A simple place to hang out and drink with my friends is just what I been looking for. Jada Coles gives us this. The happy hour is defenitely the time you should try heading here. Bartenders are very friendly and attentive which is a big plus for me. Drinks are very cheap and the pours are very generous. Guys, try the loaded fries!!! They are amazing. Only $3 and my friends and I loved it so we got about three orders for our group and they were all gone pretty quick. Live music came in the form of a cover band here later during the night around 10pm. They have a dartboard to play with but I would sure love a pool table here too.

Going to keep this short as I did not spend much time here. I went here with a friend from the area. We came here to get some desert and had the Oreo milkshake. It was absolutely delicious! Great 50's decor too
I am never disappointed with Casola's. Whether my friends and I go there to eat some late night pizza as a sure fire way to deliciously sober up after drinking or getting delivery. Casola's is always so good.. They have subs and pastas but I never have had to venture past their bomb cheese pizza and chicken wings. There just hasn't been a need for it. My absolute favorite pizza in all of Miami. If you ever go to the restaurant be ready have cash, as they only accept cash. There is an ATM on premise if you do need it.
No doubt the sandwiches here at Cheesme are delicious. I had the "Euro" a toasted crescent sandwich with mozzarella cheese, prosciutto and tomato that is making my mouth water just writing about it. But I still racked up $17 bill on a sandwich, bottle of water and tip! The seating for us were just ottomans on the floor, rather uncomfortable. Air conditioning seemed to not exist. The cooking of food was a bit slow too. All Logistics that will probably be fixed in the long term if they place stays open long enough. The place is behind the club Furious Angels and if your smart, you could get in for free through the back by going to use the bathroom.
The idea is good but the price is just a bit unreasonable. The location isn't great. Basically it was to much of a hassle. The food is delicious but I won't go out of my way to go for it.

So I finally went to John Martin's after time after time driving by it and I'm happy to say I'm glad I did. My friend and I wanted to grab a bite and drink around 10ish on a Wednesday night. After taking him to the over hyped and packed Yard House, and showing him it's worth the wait, we went to Miracle Mile to see if we can find a quieter place. John Martin's on Wednesday night is College night with drink and food specials till 2:30am. I grabbed a delicious Chicken Parmesan sandwich and my friend grabbed a 12' Pizza for a measly $7 each with college ID. Wednesday is also Karaoke night if you are so intrigued. Throughout the summer they have $5 drink specials and I suggest you try the Peach Mojito. The place is lovely inside and I was able to catch the Marlins game. The place is counting down till the Dolphin's first regular season so this looks like a nice place to drink and watch the game.

Versailles Restaurant

Versailles is the quintessential Cuban restaurant and also a Miami landmark. If your a tourist coming in to the city, come here after Domino Park to see classic "Calle Ocho". You might see demonstrations outside for some obscure Cuban cause. Local TV and radio stations come here to get the pulse of the exile Cuban community. Seniors come here to get the espresso and to talk about how everything ways better in Cuba. Nostalgia is served free of charge. The day Fidel dies, this will be the place to hit up. HA!

Try the "Media Noche" sandwich which is my favorite.I recently took a trip here and had the Spanish Baguette which was also delicious. The staff talks Spanish but don't be discouraged. I'm sure they know a few words to get by. The service is not at all bad. The restaurant is big and kind of loud and the place is always busy.
