Palermo Ristorante Italiano
Category: Italian
I ordered the gnocchi with half pesto sauce and half marinara sauce and I thought it was yummy. The gnocchi was just as gnocchi should be, tender and a little chewy. My husband had the osso bucco which was the veal served with polenta and spinach. I don't usually eat veal but this veal was really tender. The polenta was very good and tasty. The spinach was good as well.
My friends had a pork dish and a pasta with sausage and mushrooms, respectively. I had a bite of each and they were both very good, although I liked my gnocchi the best. So in conclusion, everything I tasted at this place was good. The server was also very knowledgeable about wines and was able to recommend an excellent rose when I told her that I like sweet wines. This is a great place to go if you like Italian and are tired of the chain restaurants in Elk Grove and want something different.

(long, thinly cut round pasta with calamari, prawns, mussels and clams in a delicate saffron sauce) and the tagliatelle (long, flat pasta with a beef ragout, walnuts with a touch of cream). The pasta was just the right texture and the food was just tasty. I mean we devoured the whole thing and I seriously considered licking the plate!

We had the Baja Salad and the Pesto Pasta. The Baja salad was great with avocados and pico de gallo and chicken. The only problem was that the cook (who I was told was a new girl) at first forgot to put pico de gallo and crispy tortilla strips on it. The Pesto Pasta was very good.
This place also has a full bar and a great beer selection. It's really good for lunch or a dinner and pretty reasonably priced too. It's really much better quality food than you would normally see in a coffee type place and the bar makes it extra special. I'm going to go back and try different foods and if I still like it I'll bump my rating to 4 stars.
We had the high tea for 2 which comes with a choice of 4 different types of sandwiches (2 of each kind per person so 8 total per person), scones with clotted cream, and a salad. You also each get to pick your tea. I chose the mango tea which was really fragrant. We had the chicken apple walnut salad sandwich, the salmon and cream cheese, the salmon mousse, and the pear and blue cheese. They were all good but my favorite by far was the chicken apple walnut sandwich. I had a petit four for dessert. It was good but probably better to look at than eat.
I didn't see a lot of men here but I do think that if guys would actually give it a chance they wouldn't mind this place. But they also have meatier stuff like shepard's pie on the menu if you think that tea and sandwiches aren't going to cut it.
Bottom line, this place has good food and tea. Yes, its a little pricey. But its definitely a worthwhile experience. I'd say try it if your curious and chances are you'll become hooked. I can't wait to go back to this place! I'm planning on taking my bridesmaids =)

I love the following brunch items:
Eggs benedict (awesome with bacon but I think you can also get ham)
Salmon benedict (awesome if you love salmon)
Potato Latkes (classic, not too oily)
Zucchini Latkes (made with zucchini, no potato-it sounds weird but its yummy!)
I've also had the frittata when it was a special and it was very good. I've only been there for brunch and the food is tasty, the bacon is crisp, and everything is just perfect. I really loved their fresh squeezed OJ too! My only real complaints are that the wait is long and I'm confused as to why there is seating outside but they won't serve food outside. I want to return for dinner because I'm curious about their Pan-Asian dinner menu.
The ribeye was excellent and juicy. I've never had a better ribeye except for maybe at Morton's. The braised pork shoulder was good and came with mango. The ravioli and mushrooms were so tasty! My boyfriend doesn't even usually like mushrooms and he liked this dish. The foie gras was great. They serve it with 3 little pancakes to eat it on. I think it should come with more. My favorites were the ribeye and the ravioli.
All in all the food was awesome and very refined. It's just high quality food and you can tell they use fresh local ingredients. I'll be coming back here again for sure! If the weather is warm ask for a table on the patio outside!

I love the tan-tan men. I love how you can order small, regular, or large and specify how spicy you want it. I love that you can add a boiled egg, shitake mushrooms, corn, or spinach. I'm definitely going back.
Btw, if you are happy with Edokko, then you're unworthy of even coming here!
