Don't Tell Anyone Else But...Sometimes I eat cookies for breakfast
We were looking for something sweet for dessert (I figured we were going to have to settle for a cookie at Starbucks), so I was really excited to see there is a new frozen yogurt store in the Tacoma Mall. It's self serve, which I really like, since I can never finish the huge servings they give you at other places. I ended up getting a mix of the pomegranate and original, while my friend got...coconut and mango I think. They were all really good, I don't like my frozen yogurt too tart and this had just enough sweetness. I don't really like to put a lot of toppings on mine, but they did have several fruits, cereals, chocolate pieces and coconut flakes. If I'm looking for something sweet after a day of shopping I'd definitely hit this place up again.
We were actually in search of a different thai place near the mall but our GPS wasn't taking us to the right place. People were starting to honk at us for not driving fast enough for their liking, so we gave up and decided to try this place. As with most things, it worked out for the best and we had a really nice lunch. I ordered the oyster chicken and my friend ordered a noodle dish. They were both really tasty, although I thought the oyster sauce on my dish wasn't quite as flavorful as I'm used to. The dish wasn't bland by any means though, I ordered it two stars and since I'm pretty wimpy when it comes to spicy foods, that was plenty. Our server was very nice and our food was prepared quickly. If I lived in the area I'd get take out from here pretty frequently.
Like most of the other reviews stated...this place is completely overwhelming. I've never actually made any of my own jewelry, but I have a friend that does and wanted to check this place out. I hadn't planned on buying anything but I found some beautiful glass pieces I plan on stringing into necklaces and this really neat Eiffel tower I can use to store my earrings. There is a little cafe in the store, so I was able to pick up a bottle of water (they also have sandwiches, coffee, muffins, etc). The employees were all really friendly and helpful. I just may have to take up jewelry making!
I had just landed at the Charleston airport less than an hour before we arrived here. I had forgotten my dramamine for my flight and was still feeling pretty airsick, probably not the best way to start off a night at a new restaurant. While I didn't really care for my pulled pork sandwich, those cheese muffin things they serve (free!) were awesome, definitely helped settle my stomach. I'd definitely come back for those muffins, and maybe try something else off the menu. It's right across from the Tanger Outlets so it's pretty handy if you need to fuel up pre or post shopping. They also have a drive thru where you can call ahead and pick up take out.
We were grabbing dinner over at Jim & Nick's when I saw a sign announcing a new cupcake store at Tanger Outlets. The store is actually located in the food court, right next to Sbarro's. We stopped and picked up six cupcakes (they were having a buy one get one free sale, so we went a little overboard). We sampled the almond, coconut, red velvet, citrus and two different chocolate cupcakes. My favorite was probably the chocolate cupcake that is denser, like a brownie. The other chocolate, red velvet and coconut were also pretty tasty. I generally don't like citrus cupcakes but my boyfriend enjoyed that one. I liked the almond cake, but wasn't much of a fan of the plain white frosting on that one. Overall they were pretty tasty and with the sale we got a pretty good deal. I'd definitely stop by to pick up another sugar snack the next time I'm shopping at the outlets.
We missed our ferry to Seattle so we decided to drive around and grab some lunch in Tacoma instead. I'd been wanting to try this place for quite awhile and my boyfriend is always up for pizza so we swung in here around noon on a Sunday. Parking was easy to come by and there were only a few other tables dining while we were there. We decided to share a pizza so we ordered the Crazy Little Thing veggie pizza. It was really good but heavy on the garlic (we both love garlic so it wasn't a problem). Our service was great. I bet if I come back for future visits I could easily upgrade to a five star review.
I was unfortunately pretty disappointed with these cupcakes. We got a red velvet and a chocolate cupcake and I didn't think either of them really had any flavor. I've never had a chocolate cupcake where I couldn't even taste the chocolate...very strange. My boyfriend thought they were okay (he likes milder desserts, while I prefer rich ones), but we still ended up throwing a majority of both cupcakes away. We were there on a Sunday so maybe it was an off day and fresher cupcakes would have tasted better? If I happened to be in the area I may give them another try, but I wouldn't go out of my way to come back.
A coworker recommended this place to me way back in 2007, but I ended up moving to the east coast before I could give it a try. Luckily I ended up moving back to wonderful Kitsap county so we were able to give them a try last week for lunch.
I had the crab and artichoke sandwich and my boyfriend had the steak sandwich (his came with fries, mine with salad). Everything was delicious (make sure you really like artichokes if you order the crab sandwich though, they were pretty generous with them). Service was friendly and speedy.
We did happen to overhear them discussing their new hours with another table. Apparently they are no longer offering dinner (even though there is still a dinner menu on their website). They will do prearranged group dinners if there is a minimum number of diners (I can't remember how many, maybe 8 people?) Breezy Hill is a great locally owned place to grab a nice lunch in Silverdale. We'll definitely be back.

This was my favorite hotel on my recent road trip. I think Drury Inns are my new favorite hotel chain! This "Plaza" hotel, seemed much nicer, bigger and newer than the little Drury I stayed at in Nashville. I felt like I should have been carrying my puppy in a diamond studded shoulder bag, rather than just walking her around with her old dirty brown leash. Well, maybe it's not that fancy, but it was definitely the nicest hotel on my road trip.
I chose this Drury because I needed something pet friendly, that wasn't downtown. This location appealed to me because it was right next to a mall. Puppy and I were even able to just walk across the street and then do laps around the outside of the mall. There are a few eateries in the mall, plus there is a steakhouse attached to the hotel that is open for dinner and can do room service.
Our room was very clean and quiet, the shower water was hot, the internet was fast, and the free breakfast was huge (plus they had free happy hour snacks and drinks in the afternoon). The only negative I encountered was using the pool and hot tub. It's not the hotel's fault, but apparently a lot of families stay at this hotel. There were about a dozen children that were in the pool and hot tub...unsupervised!! Who lets their six year old go play in the pool without any supervision? In any case, for $120 a night in a nice pet friendly hotel with lots of amenities, it's a great find.

My review probably won't be super useful since the puppy and I reached this La Quinta and then pretty much collapsed, without using any of the amenities or checking out the local area. I can say that the room was pretty clean, although the carpet could definitely use a new life (maybe because it was a pet-friendly room, the other rooms might be a bit better). The internet worked fine, the shower had hot water, and the employees were friendly. Breakfast was typical for a La Quinta, a few pastries, some cereal, a waffle station, and some canned fruit. They did have a huge book of menus and stuff for the local area at the front desk if you need it. If you need pet friendly accomodations in Grand Junction this is a safe bet.
