Babycakes

When I was in San Diego on Sunday, I was craving for cupcakes. All I can think of is that I wanted something like Sprinkles and not something from Von's. So I yelped it and found Babycakes. We were at Fashion Valley Mall so we weren't that far away from Hill crest where Babycakes were located. We had a hard time finding the place because there isn't any colorful signs like the other cupcake places I've been too. I thought it will be like a to go place, but when we finally found it, it was like a cafe deep inside the side walk. First, you walk through a gate, then you walk up the stairs where the patio seating is, then through a door where you place your order.
Once I walked in, I didn't see a lot of varieties in the display case like some other cupcake places, so I basically ordered one of each cupcake I found interesting. I ordered, a Pommy cupcake (made with pomegranate and something else - i forgot), a Mango Guava, a Hazel nut, a Pistachio, and one more but i forgot - sorry. The cupcakes definitely satisfied my craving. Considering this was more like a cafe, the cupcakes were pretty big and wasn't very sweet. It was definitely what i was looking for. The price of each cupcake was only $3.00 compared to other cupcake places. I ordered 5 cupcakes and two ice teas for only $21.00, It was DELICIOUS!

Decor: very artsie

Pro:
Great customer service
Seating area: plenty of indoor/outdoor space
Free Wi-Fi

Con:
only one restroom for ladies
lack of parking on the streets
not a whole lot of varieties for cupcakes but what ever they had was yummy.

Once more thing, if you were thinking "Dang, this girl ate all that", I didn't. I shared amongst 4 other people and we devoured it in 15 minutes. It was so good. I can't wait until I go back.

My family and I had a memorable dinner here last Saturday. We celebrated my niece and sister's birthday. Instead of the usual Chinese Resturant we normally go to on family get-togethers, my sister decided to go to this place. It was fine with me, since I eat anything. There were about 14 of us, so we were loud, the biggest party of the whole place. It seems like many other customers were on dates and here were we being loud. LOl!
The service was great. We were waited by Shauna (she was pregnant - I hope that is how she spells her name) and served us very well. There was so much food on the table, that I didn't order an entree for myself. I shared with my husband and mom. My husband had the Salmon, it was delicious, it melted in my mouth. My mom had the Halibat and that melted in my mouth too. I ate most of the appetizers, Tuna tar tar (the best I ever had with taro chips), garlic fries, clams, flamed cheese, and something else, I can't remember.
The price was reasonable considering the portions you get. The quality of the food was yummy. The desserts were delicious; we ordered the Ho-hos and brownie with icecream (yummy - gosh I want some more.
The downside of the place is that the restrooms are pretty far away, you will need to walk through a metal door into another building to use the restroom, but it was clean and nice.

Thuy Dolce Hair Salon

This place is awesom. My husband and I discovered this place when we went to Tasties for a drink (right next door). It's been about 4 yrs. and haven't gone anywhere else. My stylist is Ninh. He is the best hairstylist I ever had. Since I moved down to SoCal from NorCal I had a hard time looking for a perfect hairstylist until that one day when my husband and I got thirsty. Ninh is always busy, I always have to make an appointment with him. Although, I live in Riverside County, it is worth the drive to have Ninh cut and style my hair. I put my hair in his hands. I trust him so much that I usually tell him to do "whatever" to my hair and when it is over, it is gorgeous. He tells me what looks good and what doesn't. He knows about today's trends so you won't end up looking like you were in the 80s.
The only down side is that he doesn't know me by name, but it's okay since he has so many clients; I don't blame him.

The Rolling Stop

I came here once to check out the place since it was a new eatery in Lake Elsinore. The food was good and the customer service was great. I rated it 4 stars is because everything I ordered that time, they didn't have in stock or didn't serve it. I am not a beef eater, so when I ordered a chicken burger, they didn't have it . So I ordered a pizza with mushroom and olives, but they didn't have mushrooms in stock. I was a little disappointed. Since I was hungry, I just ordered an olive cheese pizza. The pizza was really good, very cheesy like how I like it. Because they didn't have want I wanted, the owner (I believe he was the owner) upgraded the small pizza I ordered to a med. size one for no extra cost. That was really nice of him. My husband ordered a burger and he said it was really good as well.
I will try this place again, if I get down the mountain before 7pm (I believe that is when it closes) from  OC. I hope the next time I stop by, they will have chicken burger. :)

PROS:
-Good food
-Nice staff
-Decent prices
-convenient location to stop before going up or coming down from the mountain before driving into Lake Elsinore.

CON:
-no drive-thu
-no vegan menu

Toms #1

My husband and I go to Tom's religiously every Tuesday for their Taco Tuesday special. Their tacos are only $1; you can choose carne asada, port, chicken, or Mahi Mahi. To be on the healthy side, we always order the Mahi Mahi taco. You can just eat two and you will be full because they stuff the tacos with fish, lettuce and salsa. Before we will go to the Del Taco across the street for their Taco Tuesday deals, but since I don't eat beef, the chicken tacos were $1, so since we found out that Tom's had a Tuesday special with grilled fish on the menu, we couldn't pass it up. We haven't been back to the Del Taco for a while.
If it is not their tacos I'm ordering, it will be the chicken salad and/or the fried zucchinis. I am so addicted to the fried zucchinis with Ranch dressing. I almost order it every time I go there. What stops me sometimes is my husband telling me that we ordered way too much food and that I can not finish it all :)
I've tried the chili cheese fries and it smothered with chili and cheese, the way it suppose to be. Delicious! The chicken sandwich is really good too, it taste like Chick-Fil-A chicken sandwaich but much tastier.
Can't remember everything I tried, so if you are in the area, you might want to stop by and try it out yourself and Yelp about it. When we have visitors, Tom's is the place to go.

PROS:
-A lot of varieties
-Good food
-decent price
-friendly staff
-opens late - I beleive until 1am Fridays and Saturdays

CONS:
-It takes a while for the food to be ready. When I call in for pick up, I tell them I'll be there in 10 -15 minutes, but when I arrive, I wait another 10-15mins for the food. They only have one cook occasionally.

Yogurt-Biz

Category: Ice Cream & Frozen Yogurt

4 star rating

Since I discovered this place by Wal-Mart, my husband and I love going here. It is probably the only yogurt shop in Lake Elsinore. I love how they have so many variety of yogurt and toppings.
I agree with the other yelper, the yogurt doesn't stay it shape for long, but it is yogurt. I had tried other yogurt places like Yogurtland, Whimsical and all of them are a like..it melts fast.  Yogurt Biz have comparable flavors as Yogurtland. The closest one is in Irvine unfortunately. So Yogurt Biz is the best Yogurt place thus far.

Cons: Close too early. I believe they close @ 10pm on a Friday. That is when I go out. No lychee as a topping (I love Lycee). The price is pretty high compared to other yogurt places I been to. They charge $0.36/oz..with all the toppings I put on..it adds up.

Pro: Healthier dessert than icecream. It makes me feel good if I have a small cup of it with fruit toppings. Yummy!

Palladium Hollywood

I was really skeptic about going to the Palladium after all the reviews I read, but I wasn't going to lose my tickets to see New Kids on the Block. I went to the Palladium this pass Saturday and thanks to all the reviews I read, I stood in line for four hours just to get a wrist band to have a space on the floor. They were only passing out about 1500 hundred wrist bands so I was lucky to received one even with so many other people in front of me. Most of them probably spent a night in line just to be guaranteed a wrist band.
After standing in line for so many hours, we went into the Palladium. I will say this place has its modern decor, but I really didn't pay much attention to it because I was really excited to see NKOTB. The reviewers were right, if you don't get a spot on the floor, you won't have a good view. Even on the floor, I didn't have a good view because I only stand 5 ft 2in (with heels). I needed to be at least over 5 ft. 6in to see the stage because there were so many tall people standing in front of me that I had to stand all the way back just to see the heads of the performers. The floors weren't slanted where the back people can look down (like stadium seating), it was flat. So if you are short just like me, you may not enjoy yourself that much on the floor because you may be searching for a good spot to stand most of the night. Once the arms start going up in front of you, you will need to tiptoe to see, otherwise just relax until the arms in from of you go down.
The balcony seems like a good place to be, but if you don't get there early to stand in the front where the rail is, you may not see a thing as well because of the same situation on the floor. Too many tall people in the front that may block your way.
I probably won't go back to this venue again because it was pretty stressful trying to find a good stop to stand. The total ticket cost was $119 and I spent most of the night being frustrated not being able to see the stage. The only time I had a full body view of the performers were when they went on to the Platforms, otherwise I was seeing their chest up. Luckily they had the big screen.
Suggestion to this venue.... the venue need to lift up the stage so the audience are looking up at the performers, not straight, so the whole body of the performers can be viewed from the floor no matter where a person stands.

I went here to celebrate my brother in-law's b-day and I had a pretty good time. This place just opened up; the staff was still pretty new so i didn't expect much from them (service wise). Because we have to put a few tables together to seat 9 people, we ended up with 2 waiters (base on how the sections were divided, I guess for tips purposes), which they did not communicate very well with one another. We will ask one waiter for drinks/refill but he will forget so we ask the other one. We were very annoyed with the service. Luckily the food was pretty good.
The food was good but we waited a very long time for it to come out. Not sure why, but their excused was that there was a private party in the back of 20+ people. While we were waiting for our food, the music turned up and the wait staff started to dance (cowboy style). It was pretty interesting. That was the highlight of the night.
Yes, I will come back here again just because it is quite different from a traditional resturant. I just hope I won't have to wait very long to eat.  By the way, the food was very yummy.

Lake Elsinore Outlets

This place has a few good stores like GAP, OLD NAVY, NIKE, POTTERY BARN and BATH and BODY WORKS, but it needs more store to attract more costumers. Many stores had been closed down and replaced with others through out the years, but half of this place is still vacant. The property management need to bring more stores in to  compete with the Cabozon outlets. So many people are willing to drive over an hour to get to Cabozon because it is worth going, but not to Lake Elsinore because there is nothing there. You really can't spend a whole day there for sure like you will at other outlets.

Trevi Entertainment Center

I was psyched when I found out an entertainment place was going to open in a place like Elsinore, but now...not so much.
I have been to this twice and both time I did not stay more than 30 minutes, once to check out the bowling alley and the other was to play arcades. When I went in the first time to check out the bowling alley, I thought it was pretty cool until I got the price sheet. I can't believe how much they charge for bowling. That night when I went, they tried to charge $50 person because of Disco night (or something to that nature). It was ridiculous so we left. The 2nd time I went there was to play with the arcades. There wasn't much there so we didn't stay long.
I gave it a one star because it is a pretty pricey place for being in Elsinore and also because of the lack of crowd control.
