Wonderful food. Super friendly service. Easily the best Mediterranean food in Orange County. Falafel is great and rotisserie chicken is to die for.  Only problem is the wait time, so order ahead or just be patient because it's worth the wait.

Ok, so I'm originally from Dearborn so I really know what good good Lebanese food is...and the fact that I am Lebanese helps as well :)
I love Sunin's food, it is very very authentic. Their hummus and baba ganoush are very flavorful and their shawarmas and shish tawook are juicey.  Now the falafel can use some work, it's good but not the best. The salads are pretty good as well, the tabouleh taste great as does the fattoush, although I love my vegetables cut smaller for my fattoush, their dressing is very good.
In all really really enjoy their food...the only problem is the service and parking.  Parking is always horrible anywhere in LA so you might have to park on the street or even a block or 2 away, which I don't see as a problem b/c I like walking but others may not like that.  Also the service, everyone working there seems miserable or just not happy, which is very NON-typical of Middle Eastern places b/c being welcoming is part of the culture...hmmm maybe they lost that part of it.  Oh and if you want something from your server ask for it up front b/c they may never come back to your table...again it's the service. I go here b/c the food is so good but then I get upset b/c the service is so bad.  HOpefully they read this review and do something about it. I'd like to walk in there one day and have them say "Welcome" with a smile on their faces.

Pita Pita Cafe

As I continue on my quest for Great Mediterranean and Middle Eastern food, I found this New Place in Lake Forest called Pita Pita on Yelp. So I decided at the last minute to go and try it out. I can not remember what time I went on a Friday night but it was still pretty early and they were going to close in 30 minutes, so I quickly drove down there.

Once I got there, I realized that the place was nice and clean with a nice designed. The Menu was a little confusing so you should ask but it's pretty much you pick a protein and sides.

I also saw that the bread was made fresh, which I loved. Because I am from Dearborn and they make bread fresh there daily, I found this to be amazing because you cannot find fresh made bread almost anywhere in OC. It would be nice if they sold the bread alone as well.

The people where very friendly, especially the owner. I really like that Because it has been my experience when I go to some Mediterranean - Middle Eastern restaurants, the owner's do not interact with the customers, but when i find the ones that do it makes it a great experience.

The price was ok but they are a bit skimpy on the sides, I only got 2 grape leaves and 2 spoons of hummus, I think for $10 you should 3-4 grape leaves and a bit more hummus.

The steak was amazing, it was super tender.  The chicken was really good as well. I like that they make the pita for you in a sandwich.

The garlic was a bit to watery, I think they should check out my recipe and use it.  But you can ask for a side of garlic.

The food from what I was told by the owner, is fresh, no microwaves, no freezer, everything made fresh, which is FANTASTIC!

The Hummus was good and they have a few flavors to pick from but it needed salt.

Again, I am from Dearborn so I'm a bit spoiled b/c they serve big portions over there, I guess that's why all the guys from MICHIGAN look like football players.

IF you go during lunch hours the service is pretty fast but if you go after 5pm expect to wait a few minutes since they cook the meat by order.

Ok so this is the best Mediterranean food in "SOUTH" Orange County,(there are some better ones in the North) it is super clean and a nice atmosphere. I would like it more if the people behind the counter had a nice smile and maybe a bit more outgoing. To me it is very important that the employees are nice and welcoming to customers.

One of the owner's is super nice but he's not there all the time to greet customers.

Here is what I like and don't like about the food. The beef shawarma and the chicken shawarma are pretty good. Gyros, Garlic and Tzatziki sauce are also pretty good. However the Falafel and the salads not so good.

This is my place to go when I'm not in the mood to cook and I want a quick fix.  The price is very affordable and you do get good portions.

Best regards,

Dede.

Wow! Great Food. Great Atmosphere, Terrible Service. This place has a amazing food - OMG!. Definitely one of the best places in Southern California for Mediterranean and Middle Eastern food.  The Atmosphere is amazing, Music is not to loud, Belly dancers dancing, and water fountains flowing. (Even Hookah for smoking) However their service is terrible, Good luck finding your waiter, or getting the check. I read other reviews and I think we all concur that this place has terrible service. And that is why I gave it only 4 stars. But, if you can get past the service, the food truly is amazing and a great place to hang out with friends on a Saturday night, only $25/person and that includes food and pop, hookah is extra.

This place was okay. Not bad. Has a strong Turkish influence on the style of the food.

Not really the kind of taste I was looking for, but overall  it was good.

Try their Garlic Sauce!

If you are in the Gas Lamp and are looking for Mediterranean - Middle Eastern Food, this place can satisfy your palette.
