My opinion, the beers are standard, the rates are as expected in any music venue but as for the space..... hope that your band is playing in a more spacious venue.

Jeep Masters

So..... I have this Jeep Grand Cherokee in which the cooling fan stopped working so I reviewed the fuses, etc.... not knowing much on electrical systems I took my Jeep to Jeep Masters, well I can honestly say that I don't remember w/who I spoke with but the estimate to fix my Jeep was close to $800.... WOW!!!!! that was allot by my standards but then I had no working AC (w/100+ degree summer) & my Jeep would overheat when stuck in traffic, so much that "if" I sat in the drive-thru for too long my temp needle would redline so I had no choice but to start saving to eventually be able to have it repaired here thinking that they knew what they were talking about, you know the whole "Jeep Master" thing.
Long story short!!! while I was still saving up for the repair I visited my older brother who is more mechanically inclined than I (he's the one who taught me) & when he asked, I told.... WHELL!!! we walked over to my Jeep, removed the electrical fan, opened it up, CLEANED the coil w/starter fluid, tested it (it worked) & put it back on.... WAAALAAAA cooling system back on w/cold AC & it took all but 10-15 minutes!!!
And to think, Jeep Masters wanted to charge me $800 when it took less than 15 min & a few quick squirts of starter fluid to fix the issue.... Never will I go to this place nor will I EVER recommend it. I will say this... "if" you have car troubles, always & I mean always get a second opinion & shop around for quotes.

1. her complaint about the time it took to get served, now I'll agree it does take a while to get served, I myself hate to wait an overly-extended period to get my food but when it's only 1 or 2 cooks making the food for the whole restaurant, this is to be expected not to mention they make your order as you order it, not in bulk as CR may be acustomed to.
2. I don't know what Cali's mexican food may be like as i've never been but would've assumed they have good Mex food but this is TX & Tex-Mex has overpopulate the "mex" food genre so finding a decent place w/good food (at a decent $ rate) is not as easy here as it may be in Cali.
3. In regards to seeing the staff munch on someone's else's plate, i'll admit, that does sound pretty gross but for someone who used to work in the Service industry (& those of you who have know this to be true), that happens at EVERY restaurant, they just hide it better, hahahaha.
As i mentioned in an earlier review of this place, "this is NOT a place you want to take someone on a date or to impress them", this IS however a place you may want to go to have good authentic mexican food which actually tastes like home cooking. If you want fast mex food, go to Taco Cabana, if you want looks more than taste, go to Z-Texas or Pappasito's.

This may not be the kind of place you may take someone on a date BUT it is a place to go for lunch w/good close friends who aren't as particular on atmosphere but are more into good food, OH BTW, did i mention cheap? Working downtown it's hard to find a good decent place to go for lunch that doesn't involve fast food or require a cost of $10 or more, it's lunch people!?! hahaha. Seriously though, i just find it hard to pay over $10 for a lunch that i have to hurry up n'eat w/in 15 minutes, i'll save that for dinner. SOOO this brings me to this "hole in the wall', literally. This little known place is in the East side of Austin, 10 min's from the Capitol & cheap to boot. Now don't let the decor throw you off as it does scream "holy MeHico!!!" but it more than makes up w/their really good eats & the friendly staff. They have over 7 lunch specials, all under $5.50 & the servings are plentifull, so "if" you ever find yourself downtown looking for a cheap Mexican place for a quick lunch, this is it for you.
Happy Nacho's everyone..........
