Delicious cuban food, giving it 4 stars because it can be pricey, but service is good and the sangria is tasty

Located near Innsbrucker Platz, Havanna Club is a fun place to be. Different floors with different music -  hip-hop, top 40, and Latin music. Eclectic mix of people too - would recommend!

Went to Xara Cafe for a friend's birthday during early December. It was just the place around Nollendorfplatz that we knew had Shisha.

THey have a nice covered area outside for you to smoke. Each Waterpipe is about 8 Euros each.  We ordered the MInt flavor and the Apple flavor. The mint flavor was tasty, but was not nearly as strong as the Apple flavor (may or may not be a good thing)

The service is pretty janky.

We had a party of more than 6 people, and they only give us 1 mouthguard. Why bother even handing out that mouthguard then?

They don't put enough coal on your water pipe.

They also don't check up on you - if your waterpipe is dead, you'll ahve to wait a while before an an attendant comes to help you.

THat made the experience far less than satisfactory.

If you see another shisha bar, I would recommend going to that one besides Xara Cafe.

2/5

Sao Mai is a Vietnamese and Thai restaurant that is located near the nollendorfplatz U-Bahn station.

I ate here when I was craving Pho, and I've been there multiple times since.

The Pho is great for Berlin and is reasonably nice.

The waiters and waitresses there are very nice and speak English, Vietnamese, as well as German :)

And the best part is they accept credit card - being a long-term tourist in Berlin, you learn to appreciate things like this!

Sakura Sushi is one of the only sushi buffet places in Berlin. It is kinda pricey, but you can easily eat your value if you come in with an empty stomach.

I recommend coming here for lunch rather than dinner, as you only get some more Nigiri sushi for dinner and a dessert section, but it's significantly more expensive.

The sushi is okay, and their hot food section is not bad. They also have fried bananas, which are delicious.

On the downside, the sushi chefs who work there are pretty incompetent and stingy. If they see that you're grabbing lots of sushi, they'll put the really junky ones out. They withhold Nigiri sushi.

One night, I came here and they had a large plate of Nigiri sushi. When we left 2.5 hours later, only a quarter of that plate was done.

This would never happen in the States!

For that reason, I can't put this place more than 3 stars out of 5.

I ate at Sweet Coco's a couple of times because it was close to my homestay (near the Innsbrucker Platz U-Bahn/S-Bahn stop). The food is pretty good and not expensive.

When I come here, i get one of those cheaper sushi rolls to start, and I order a Pad Thai.

The Pad Thai by itself is pretty perfect. I love spicy food, and one time I ordered it "very spicy," and they REALLY made it really spicy, to the point where I was sweating and couldn't enjoy my meal. As long as you don't try to modify their Pad Thai, you'll really enjoy themselves.

They don't accept credit card - so be warned! This place is really good if you're looking for Thai and Sushi (and some covert Viet mixed in there) meal for around 10 Euros.

Thermen am Europa-Center

Therman am Europa was the first European sauna and I highly recommend it.

I spent 3 hours there and it was the most relaxing. There's 2 different saunas, with one being 100 degrees Celsius!

There's a swimming pool where you can wear clothes, but I highly recommend against it. Swimming nude is the most liberating feeling. There's hot tubs, cold tubs, nice showers, and an overall nice facility. There's a restaurant inside too where you can get food if you're hungry, or if you feel like just lounging around, there's beach chairs too. The staff who work there speak both English and German and are very helpful. It's open till midnight, so you can decide to go on a late-night whim :)

If it's your first time, I recommend you bring a towel and shower sandals. Also, you might want to bring a bottle of water, because I do not believe water is free.

And did I mention that there's a student discount?

For a sauna, I Would recommend this place. And for a first sauna experience, I Would highly recommend it!

Kashima is a divine experience that is lightyears beyond other massage parlors in Berlin and in the world.

Facilities are clean, the masseuses are very kind and accommodating.

Well, what are you waiting for? For every massage afficionado, I would highly recommend paying a visit.

Oh yeah, it's been several days since my massage and I'm still feeling its effects :)

Got the dessert lasagna, ravioli, and a Bloody Mary.

The Bloody Mary was mediocre, the ravioli was okay, and the dessert lasagna was pretty good! Overall, it was severely overpriced with very little portions.

If I were to wait in Tegel airport again, I will just eat at the Burger King downstairs.
