The menu is interesting, specializing in game. A few notables: Ostrich, antelope, and buffalo. The wine list was similarly impressive. Lots of special occasion wines and even a few very rare old Burgundies.
I had the 4 course "light dinner," which offers a soup, sorbet, appetizer (as your entree), and a little dessert sampler. If you're a lighter eater like me, this is definitely the way to go! You get to try a bunch of things and it costs less than one of the entrees on its own. For the heavier eaters, there's a similar 7 course dinner for um.. a bit more.
From what our party had, here are a few must tries: Ostrich, Lobster Bisque, Tuna Nachos, Chocolate Mousse cake. That antelope also looked incredibly good. Maybe I'll have the occasion to try that when I get my MD (haha).
I'd steer clear of most of the mixed drinks; every one I've ordered has come out tiny and weak.
The atmosphere is cool, laid back, and occasionally filled with med students. And the best part: Dog friendly. Having lived in Atlanta the past year, I can't tell you how much I enjoy being able to take my little Italian Greyhound with me!
Edit: Sorry Stillwater... Minus a star-- Excessive smokiness and covers for crappy bands on weekends. Lame. But still good for Augusta.

Yogurberry
Categories: Ice Cream & Frozen Yogurt, Juice Bars & Smoothies, Coffee & Tea
Neighborhood: Buckhead
So why is the new Yogurberry so much better? First and foremost, they now have 4 flavors instead of 2, and they also offer some additional "to go" flavors. The quality of the flavors has also drastically improved. They now offer delicious and interesting flavors like Passion Fruit, Mango, and Taro, to name a few. And, not that they needed to, they've added several more toppings to the already impressive array. Some notables: Fruit Loops, M&Ms, and honey.
They've also taken care of a lot of the parking issues as well. I haven't actually tried yet, but they are validating parking now (acc. to the manager) and you can also park in the 15 min bank parking whenever the bank is closed.
Another plus: the service is worlds better. Employees are friendly, enthusiastic, and seem like they genuinely want you to enjoy yourself.
So props, props, props to Yogurberry! It's not often that you see a place do a 180 (in a good direction) like this and I've got to say, I'm proud of them!

I like Yogurberry ok, but only because I love tart yogurt. I actually have several problems with Yogurberry, but if I'm in the neighborhood, I'll stop in and get me a yogurt.
First of all, they only have two flavors, one of which is always original. This is a terrible idea. I'm not a fan of the original (too sour and bland...), so if I stop by and happen to not like the *one flavor* they have around, I'm screwed. Like the week they had pineapple. Kinda gross. I mean I like pineapple just fine normally, but this particular yogurt rendition was not good. (Do note, since Yogurberry has been under new management, I have not seen any of the gross flavors make the menu! Props!)
And this predicament sucks even more because of Yogurberry's abysmal location. To say that getting there is a pain is a massive understatement. You basically have to fight the Buckhead traffic, park in the deck, then take an elevator down to the middle of the shopping center. I'm still not entirely sure if they validate, but do note that parking is free after business hours. But either way, there's always a chance that I'll go through all of that and not even find a yogurt I want.
To give you all an update, the management has promised that they're working on putting in second machine soon to alleviate the selection problem. You'll be seeing an updated review from me when they do!
As for toppings, they have a very good selection. Especially the cool fruits like kiwi and papaya! Be warned, however, sometimes these fruit toppings are not so fresh... One time I got papaya and it had started to ferment a little... Yknow when the fruit starts to taste a little carbonated? Yeah. Bacteria releasing CO2. Ew. (Though do note that all of the toppings have been much fresher since new management took over recently)
Basically, I've had some good yogurt here and I don't want to discount that. But I do generally prefer Yoforia for the above reasons.
**Addendum**
Yes, I'm removing my last addendum regarding being threatened by a Yogurberry "enthusiast." Though it did happen and I'm still not happy about it, it appears that "John D" is no more. And, after speaking with involved parties, I believe that there were no truly malicious intentions and that this was the result of a nice person making a mistake. And the shilling seems to have stopped! Let's hope it stays that way! Show owner comment »

Nick's Food To Go
Categories: Greek, Burgers, Mediterranean
I got a combo, which came with fries and a Greek salad. Honestly, both were kind of throw-aways; I say skip the combo and just get the gyro. As far as the eating experience, well, there really isn't one. It's seriously a kitchen with a tiny closet-sized space where you place your order. No tables anywhere, not even outside-- they're not kidding about the "To go" part.
That said, the gyros are messy as hell and you pretty much *need* a table and plates, possibly even silverware to eat one. Let's just say I ended up speckled with tzatziki. But don't let that deter you. Just don't try to eat it in the car like I did!
Too bad they're closed Sunday, because I already want another one!
Luckily, it seems like most of the servers speak English, so that makes things easier. I was really in the mood for some hot tea, so I just ordered some, but it looks like they end up bringing it to most people anyway. Either way, make sure you get some. It's a barley tea and it tastes nutty and buttery. It's good, trust me on this one.
The menu basically consists of pancake/meat dishes like bulgogi, rice/noodle dishes like bibimbap, tofu soups with a variety of flavors/add-ins, and combos of the above with Korean BBQ. I thought it was weird that there were no appetizers on the menu. Then I learned why.
After you place your order, the waitress will show up at your table with what seems like a never ending array of plates full of stuff, most of which you won't be able to identify if you're in my boat. Just try it all. With the exception of the whole fried fish, everything appeared to be vegetable in origin. Even the clear squishy thing is tasty! And don't worry, it's all free. Even the tea is free!
Once you've realized that you can't possibly eat everything in front of you, the stuff you ordered will arrive. If you're clearly not Korean (like me), the waitress will explain to you how to eat everything. And she may offer you "rice soup," which I learned is the barley tea poured into the rice pot. It loosens the slightly browned pieces of rice that are stuck to the sides giving you rice soup!
So how was the food? I'll say that the tofu soup lives up to its reputation. I got the pork variety and loved it. Lots of tofu and thinly sliced, mostly lean pork. You'll have the option of cracking an egg into your soup, which makes it very thick and rich. I specified "regular" as my spice level and it came out relatively tame, honestly, but it was exactly what I was looking for at the time. The BBQ was a little on the chewy side, but I loved the flavor.
One last piece of advice: Come with a group of people if you can. Between all the appetizers and whatever entree you order, it's waaay too much food for 2 people and you'll feel like a bad person for wasting so much food. Or I guess you could just come really, really hungry!

Mediterranean Grill
Categories: Greek, Mediterranean, Middle Eastern
Neighborhood: Midtown
I usually get a gyro with feta added and a Greek salad. Again, not the best gyro I've ever had or anything, but still delicious. Actually, the Greek salad is one of the better ones I've had. I'm partial to the tangy dressing. Good tzatziki too. Gyros are useless without good tzatziki! Probably the thing that makes Mediterranean Grill worthy of 4 stars is that all of this good food is cheap! I think the Gyros run 4-5 bucks and the combos 6-7 bucks.
All in all, the perfect place to drop by for a quick lunch or dinner.
My first impression was "Are they open?" followed by a strong impulse to turn around and high tail it in the other direction. Yeah, the place looks rough. It's a sketchy, falling apart building in a sketchy parking lot. And by sketchy, I mean there were a couple of dudes set up washing people's cars with buckets of water in the corner of the parking lot. Walking in, it didn't get much better. Falling apart booths and falling apart menus.
The whole dining experience was a little awkward, probably due to the fact that the place was pretty much empty. Honestly, the appearance of the place had me a little scared to eat my food, but I fearlessly pressed on. Cheese dip and an enchilada with rice and beans. To my surprise, they were pretty good. Just what I was looking for, anyhow. And I didn't get sick! Oh yeah, and lunch for 2 was 10 bucks. Yeah, dirt cheap.
So will I make the trek all the way down to Grant Park for dirt cheap, tasty Mexican food out of a sketchy, falling apart building? Probably.
Not Texas BBQ, but actually just as enjoyable! Probably the first good experience with Southern BBQ I've had. Kyle and I split the pork and chicken plate with Brunswick stew and mac n cheese. The pork and the Brunswick stew were definitely the stars of the meal. Probably the best pulled pork I've ever had. Well smoked, very tender, and perfectly complemented by the house BBQ sauce. I also love that the sauce had a little heat. It was one of those meals that left me craving more as soon as I left. I really hope that I can plan a return trip before I leave Atlanta!
First, I was greeted by incompetent staff. He seemed to be very confused by me ordering two different dressings on the side of my salad. Yknow, so I can have a backup if I don't like one of them? He ended up ringing up two *salads,* one of which was this horrible Greek concoction of onions and squishy cucumbers. Either this guy was completely stoned out of his mind, or it was a serious n00b error. Either way, a far cry from the service a few months ago.
The food also seemed to have changed. I got the chicken tacos and they were filled with *tons* of this white mayonnaisey sauce. If you know me, you know that I LOATHE mayonnaise and will remove whatever portion of my food has touched it. The worst part... Nowhere on the menu was this sauce mentioned as being on the tacos. Maybe someone made it up? We'll say that my food was edible, but nothing beyond that.
Lastly, the place was dirty.. and.. sticky. Yes, sticky. Everything from the tabletops to the sauce holder in the middle of the table was.. sticky. I don't think I even need to go into why this is both gross and disturbing. I was almost afraid to consume sauce out of the sticky Piri Piri bottles, but I *had* to find some way to cover up the mayonnaise sauce.
I don't know if they just fired the regular staff and hired a bunch of minimum wage n00bs or if the employees were really just slacking on this particular night, but suffice it to say that I don't plan on finding out.

Boneheads is tasty, convenient, and spicy, which = good in my book. I live at atlantic station, so I definitely appreciate having a Boneheads within walking distance!
As I've said before, I'm all about variety, so I definitely love being able to try all their different sauces on whatever I get! I'm a huge fan of the grilled shrimp skewers. Generally, I won't order shrimp at any order-at-the-counter type place, but they're surprisingly delicious at Bonehead's. Yummy sweet potato fries too; really good dipped in the Piri Piri sauces!
A word of warning though: The Piri Piri sauces are quite spicy. Generally I assume Americanized heat standards when eating out... Not at Bonehead's though. The "extra hot" sauce was definitely nearing "thai hot" territory (eh, not quite, but close). Luckily, they make a mild version of the sauce dubbed "lemon pepper" for anyone who's not into the spicy stuff.
Definitely sadness that they have such a meager beer selection as beer is such a good complement to spicy food! :(

Then I had the green curry. Plenty of kaffir lime leaves and very tasty, but green curry is supposed to be fiery even in its mildest form. This was barely enough to tickle my tongue. Meh.
Also, the green curry was served with the most pathetic portion of rice imaginable. I mean it was nowhere near enough rice for the amount of curry served. And I was splitting the dish. Ordered some more rice, the server didn't understand. We waited 15 mins before asking again for more rice from another server. He had more rice to us in 2 minutes flat. And, somehow, they managed to be the only Thai restaurant on the planet that actually charges for a refill on rice. Meh.
Not planning on going back. There is so much delicious Thai food in Atlanta and this was just, well, meh.
