Adam's Moving & Delivery Service

Category: Movers

5.0 star rating
Update - 7/21/2011
Years later and this company is still providing great service.

Moving is stressful and tiring.  Also I like my friends, so subjecting them to lower back pain and cheap beer is something I like to avoid.  So I looked up Adams again to see what they were up to.  The reviews still looked good and they were still friendly.

At first the quote scared me a bit.  But then you realize well gas has gone up and most of all... people misjudge what they really own.  I knew I had a decent handful of stuff but I did try to be honest.  You can tell he would rather be up front that if you got a lot of stuff, it will cost a lot.  It didn't turn out to cost close to the amount I thought it might!

The team they have are fast, hard working, friendly and just overall good people.  They made just as easy for me this time as they did last time.

Thank you.  (oh and please remember to tip these boys, they work hard!)

Another great review for this moving company!

For most of my life I owned collapsable furniture.  This meant I could move quickly and without the help of others.  I really did like this, but it always meant sub-par furniture.

So I finally bought real furniture and when the time came to move it, well I was sort of lost.  I don't like the idea of abusing my friends with cheap alcohol to move large objects.  It doesn't seem like something a real friend would do.  But I don't trust most people, so the idea of some strange people coming to my house and manhandling my possessions bothers me.

Adam's company changed my mind.  I read the great reviews here and after talking to a few people, made the leap to hire them.  And I was so pleased.

With a nice big truck and 3 strapping men, they moved stuff out of our dinky apartment into our new tri-level home.  They were personable, careful, and strong.  They moved everything we wanted quickly and were smart about fragile boxes.  And they even managed all the crazy stairs of our new home perfectly.  Not a thing missing, not a thing broken.

And for the work they did, it was a great price.  (and buy them lunch, they earned it)  I highly recommend them for any move, even if it's just the large things.  Stop abusing your friends people!  Hire these guys.

Curry.  A big beautiful plate full of delicious curry.  Yum!

I've heard of this place for years but never had the joy of getting to dine here.  Well, I finally made the plunge with a co-worker and it is divine.  First off, the pricing is incredible.  I really do not have any budget for extras but this was a great surprise to find something affordable for lunch.  Also, the portions are enough for two!  Even better.

The staff are incredibly sweet and remember the regulars.  The service was quick.  They have a nice little area to sit at but the only downside, it needs an overhead fan or something because jeez it was hot.

The food itself is flavorful and really well done.  I had been craving delicious comfort food and having a warm curry with enough spice and real veggies made my day.

Definitely a great downtown lunch treat!

It's beautiful.  A shining beacon of everything you want in a modern gym.

I began over at the hole-in-the-wall 24 hour across the street.  It wasn't beautiful. Just a few machines, nice people and decent parking.  It became this lovely place and I'm so amazed at the change.  There are plenty of workout machines.  You never want for one even at peak hours.  Plenty of classes, weight pits, and a lovely swimming pool.  It's almost too much to take in.  The keyless lockers are lovely, the swiping your finger to log in is great.  For the price, I'm very happy with it.  But I may give it up to find a better location when I move.  I haven't decided though since, no where can give you all the amenities they have here at the price.

However, parking is awful.

TACO TUESDAY!

Yeah, that sums it up.  I only come here on Tuesday.  I only want tacos.  I've never had a burrito here.  They look... interesting. As in, I really don't want that but you enjoy it.  I like the shrimp tacos.  Why don't they have those all the time?!  I wait patiently for them.  The fish tacos are okay... but a poor substitute.

Someday a bike, but first... I needed to learn to ride.

So I came here for gloves and to fantasize over all the pretty bikes.  The staff was nice enough to help me find a great pair of gloves and give me some recommendations about learning to ride.  Including keeping the doc martens but ditching the flare jeans. hehe.

Have you ever wanted to train as an Olympian?  No?  Then go find a Top Pot!  I'll be there in a few. :)

No, I'm not a member.  Why?  There is no way I can afford this at the moment.  But if I could, I would be sold.  This is old-school fitness meets new-school ideas.  You would swear you are transported to Ancient Greece and are training in a true Gymnasium.

It looks empty to the average gym-rat but it's all that you need.  Weights, jump ropes, medicine balls, rowing machines, etc.

I went with a friend for her morning routine.  Now, i prefer the term rubenesque instead of fat ass, but clearly, I am no bikini model, I enjoy Top Pot, enough said.  But I kept up with the athletes.  I rowed, i jump roped (it was not pretty), I squatted, I sat-up, and I failed on pull-ups. (those are really hard to do!)  I did a few rounds and felt like a goddess, then promptly sat on the floor with my water.  The trainers encouraged, so did everyone participating.  It was just a good group of people.  No hard sells to join either.

Spin the wheel!

Yes, a perfect place to unwind after work downtown, but everyone else thinks the same thing.  And the tourists like the location, so be warned.  No, I've never gotten a seat near the wheel but I do usually get the lovely Russian blonde, I believe Emilee, who always knows what the wheel is doing!  Spun each half hour, if you are nice maybe 15 minutes, to show a new drink special.  Decent happy hour deals and a mouth watering fried brie with mango.  The dining room also includes happy hour deals, which is nice considering that getting a chair outside or near the wheel is close to impossible.... someday.

Awww, my sweet haunt.  You haven't changed a bit.  Though gotten more seductive I see.  Science 1st Tuesday's lectures with a pint, you are a nice place to rest.  Still scared to eat your food but love your beautiful scotch shelf, your friendly staff, and what you consider entertainment.  Slainte!

We came to drink scotch and enjoy the atmosphere of a nice pub.  We came on a Thursday hoping it would be empty and it was.  Just a few hard nosed drinkers and some couples in for dinner.  A good place to hide.

These people know beer and scotch.  21 beers on tap.  Lots of good Irish whiskey and almost a whole shelf dedicated to scotch.  What's nice is they know their blends really well and are willing to teach you.  Which is good considering some glasses are $20.

Great bar tenders too.  Really quick and sociable.  The kind you would imagine in a good pub.  This is definitely a good place to get lost for awhile.

Don't eat here!  It's a bad idea. But do drink here.  They have an excellent bar tender, quick service and great selection.  Treat this like a bar and you'll have a great time.

This is a behemoth of a movie theater and quite frankly, my favorite in Seattle.

First off, there is parking you don't have to pay for.  This makes it a step above all the downtown theaters that you have to pay to park.  Secondly, it is next to the "greatest fries on Earth", that itself is worth another star.  It also boasts cheap movie mornings on Tuesdays which is wonderful if you have the time to take off to see a movie on a Tuesday morning.

I'm not the kind of person that needs to see the most recent movie.  But for those that do, they always have tons of times and multiple theaters  showing so you really don't have to worry about not getting a seat.  I could do without the 3d thing.  I get it, it's kitschy and I'm not getting on this bandwagon.  It came around in the 80's, I wore my red and blue glasses, sort of done with that.  But let me know when pegging your jeans, LA Gear and home perms come back in style kthx.

So there is a drawback to this mega-theater-palace.  The several escalators to get to anything.  And of course your theater is always on the top floor.  I've done the stairs before.  Not fun, a good workout though that justifies the junior mints, no matter how grossly overpriced they are!

Lisa Dufour is an amazing attorney.  She helped me and my family through a terrible time in our lives and for that I am grateful.

I would love to go into my regular flair and detail but when things are so personal and emotional, it's just not a good idea to air them out on the interweb, unless you want a reality show.  And yeah, not my style.

So, here is the run down:
-Recommended by other attorneys as the place to go for Family Law needs
-Lisa knows the the Seattle courthouse system like no one else
-Lisa is a super attorney and can basically do impossible filing in a day
-Hefty retainer fee, be realistic about what you are looking for and don't be sticker shocked (fun fact: family law takes money upfront, not after!)
-Good communication from my attorney and paralegals
-Understanding financial department, I had literally no budget to work with and they were helpful with breaking up payments
-Lisa and her paralegals were helpful in cutting costs where they could
-Lisa is caring, sympathetic and pragmatic in how she approaches her cases

Overall, it was a great experience working with Lisa through a terrible time.  I understand now why people name their pets after their lawyers.  Someone they can trust and share with but won't take any crap from mean strangers.
