We went here for my birthday dinner last week and it was delicious! We had edamame (I always order it) and some Alaskan-something for appetizers. The second one was a round sushi and fruit concoction, and while that sounds less than appetizing I assure you we were extremely pleased!
For my dinner I had the shrimp tempura udon, which was amazing and more than I could eat. If I had it to do over the only thing I would change would be to get the regular udon, because it was so big I actually couldn't eat all the shrimp.
My husband got the shrimp and chicken bento box, and he loved that as well. He is a very large guy with a very big appetite and he was not able to finish it.
The atmosphere is great- from the outside it looks a bit rundown but the inside has been redone and is absolutely beautiful. Our server hovered a bit, but we got there as soon as they opened so we were the only ones there. He also really didn't speak any english, but for me that adds to the flair (and an American guy came around behind him and made sure we were taken care of).
My only complaint is that our server brought our meals out while we were still working on our appetizers. You will not have to wait long for your food here!

I ate lunch here on my last trip to Louisville. I had the salmon- herbed and grilled with spinach and artichoke hearts, and it was delicious. Service was good.
Did not give 5 stars because:
1) The place was packed, which is great for them but I was at a table in the middle of the floor and the guy sitting at the table behind me kept hitting my chair with his- WAY too tight.
2)The portion was pretty small, meaning appropriate, which doesn't bother me at all. However, it was pretty expensive and I know if my dad or husband ate here they'd be eating again 20 minutes later.

Loved it! Absolutely loved it.
The staff was friendly, the place was clean. Beer on tap was delicious. I was starving and had the vegan sandwich but could only eat half, took the other with me.
Husband had ham and pineapple pizza, and he liked it as well.
I will go back here every single time I am in Knoxville from here on out.

This place was ok. Good beer on tap, interesting atmosphere. We weren't there for any live music, so maybe my opinion isn't terribly valid.
It does have a great location, right in market square.

We were taken to dinner here the night before an interview. Husband had a State St Stout, which he enjoyed. Service was semi-slow but not terrible. We had a few appetizers, one being a chicken quesadilla thing that was amazingly good.
I had a tuna steak (because the school was footing the bill!) and it was de-licious. Husband had a burger that he enjoyed.
We actually went back again the next night after the interview and had a couple of beers at the bar. The beers were good (don't remember what, sorry), but the conversation was better. I walked up to a random older guy and struck up a conversation about Knoxville, to get a feel for how the locals like it. What a nice guy! We had a great time.

My husband and I love outdoor-type stores, so we had to stop here when we were in Charleston. He ended up buying a Northface soft shell jacket. It was expensive (all that stuff is) but he's a tough fit (6'8" 230) and he finally found one here, so that's a plus.
I got a winter hat (we call them tobogans where I'm from) and a coffee thermos. I haven't tried either yet but they sure are pretty!
The staff was very friendly and helpful. One of the guys spend a good 20 minutes bringing the other half jackets to try on in an effort to find the perfect one. He was a really young kid too, and you don't always get that kind of service from people that age. We were impressed.

I found this place through Yelp- one of two restaurants in the veg category for charleston. I market it on a map and we parked a few blocks away. The only bad thing I can say about it is the neighborhood seems a bit off the beaten path. I was starting to wonder if it no longer existed when we stumbled upon it.
This is a very small, very quaint cafe. If you aren't into that, you won't like this place. I happen to like quaint, so I thoroughly enjoyed it. The bathroom situation is a bit odd- you have to go through the kitchen to get to it and the sink is outside the door- but the people in the kitchen make conversation with you as you pass through, and in a way it adds to the charm.
Food! The husband and I had hummus and pita chips for an appetizer. I love hummus, and this was no disappointment. I could've eaten a gallon of the stuff.
He got the Geechi Girl Burger with fries and was practically licking his plate when it was gone. I think he was impressed with the quality of hamburger he got in a veg cafe. He would say only that he wanted more- probably could've eaten two, but hey, he's ginormous.
I had the tofu and vegetable stir-fry, and it was absolutely delicious, cooked in olive oil but not too greasy. It came with brown rice, and was very filling. I was completely satisfied.
We got two giant cookies (one choc chip and one oatmeal raisin) to go, and they were fantastic too. Really, really fantastic.
I would love to eat here again if I'm ever back in Charleston. The only thing I'd worry about is that the menu is very limited, and while our meals were great I would want some variety if I was a regular customer. I have no idea how often she changes the menu so it may be a moot point.

After my terrible meal at Virginia's the night before, we were taken to lunch at Lana's. It was delightful.
I had a cup of the minestrone soup (very good) and the mediterranean salad. The salad was huge and very filling. I would order it again.
Other people had pasta, lamb, paninis. Nobody voiced any displeasure, and all of the plates were clean at the end of the meal. Everyone else had desert, and all of them were in love with their respective cakes. I however had none, so cannot really comment on that.

I was in town for an interview, and they took us to Virginia's. The atmosphere was great, the waitress was friendly.
We ordered a few appetizers to share: the fried pickles were okay (but how fancy can a fried pickle really be), the stuffed mushrooms were pretty good. Pimento cheese spread also just okay.
I ordered the crab-stuffed trout, which sounded absolutely delicious and came with sides of grits and collard greens. Big mistake. The greens (which i was excited about, not being a southerner) had HAM in them, and I don't eat pork. If I wanted pork, I would have ordered pork. The grits were okay, but I couldn't eat all of them because they were extremely rich. The trout, and I cannot emphasize this enough, was *disgusting*. I have never had a restaurant dish so foul; I never send food back and this was the first thing my husband has ever seen me refuse to eat on other than ethical grounds. And trust me I was Hungry.
Husband had pecan crusted chicken and green beans, both of which he liked. Another girl had chicken and dumplings, thumbs up. One of the guys had the rabbit, and he did not like it.
I will never go back.

We had the hummus for an appetizer, and it was grainier than I'm used to, which made it feel more rustic. Taste was really good, portion was pretty small though.
I had a mushroom burger, with mayo on the side (I'm just not a fan), and it was quite good as well. Husband had a steak sandwich which he liked. Both of these came with a side of potato chips, which made little sense to me- it's a fairly healthy, very earthy restaurant, and you serve potato chips? I just thought the side should be something more original and light.
Service was good, and lightning fast. We were in and out of there in 35 minutes, and they were pretty busy.
