Which serves REALLY TASTY SUSHI!
Granted sushi snobs will probably find fault with their selection of fresh fish, or their presentations, or what have you....
But I DON'T CARE.
They serve endless amounts of tasty sushi rolls...that, alone, is worth five stars.

I have no idea why the crowds for their neighbor, Awakenings, rival a biblical swarm of locusts while this lovely diner continues to serve a consistent customer base fresh, tasty, and creative food.
Perhaps it's the Food Network affect.
That said, walking away from a 45 minute wait at Awakenings to eat here is a solid play...they also have a change machine, should one need to feed the voracious parking meters.

The recent spate of negative press highlighting America's unhealthy dependence on fast food has probably made America somewhat svelter, but, when someone has a hankering for lunch that won't blow apart the caloric allotment for the day, there is a still a relative dearth of healthy fast food options.
Save Panda Express.
Even if you're in a hurry, they offer colorful vegetables over steamed white rice.
Granted, they still offer glorious piles of heavily-sauced chicken-nugget things....but, if someone chooses to eat healthily when ordering at the drive-through window, there are options which won't stretch the waistline of your pants as tightly as Joan Rivers' face.
And that's, alone, makes this place worth four stars.

The very epitome of a ubiquitous, soulless chain restaurant.
I'm almost embarrassed to eat here, given the quality of fine local restaurants available on and around the Monterey Peninsula.
That said...I've never had a bad dining experience at this CPK...their food is invariable fresh, tasty and served by a friendly and speedy server, even on the busiest nights.
Figure that has to be worth around four stars.

This is a very touristy-themed store in a very touristy-themed area of Cannery Row.
Perhaps that's something of an oxymoron.
That said, they offer a really impressive selection of niche food themed products - and they change their stock regularly.
So, if you see something you like, I'd suggest picking it up..I've always found their prices to be quite reasonable.

Stayed one night for a California Teachers Association regional meeting and was quite impressed. Free wifi, comfortable bed, a nice continental breakfast....the perfect road trip motel.
What gives them five stars, however, was the presence of not one, but TWO, count them, TWO WAFFLE MACHINES at the continental breakfast.
If that doesn't warrant two stars, I don't know what does!!

In addition to the usual sorts of geodes one would expect in a store such as this, they offer a nice collection of locally collected jade....which is quite nifty.

They offer a creative spate of fresh, well-prepared creative food in a lovely space within spitting distance of the loveliest beach in California.
That said, they really do pack tables together very tightly.
