Maui Pho Fusion BBQ & Grill
Category: Asian Fusion
I was having a pho craving when I saw this place in the parking lot of Home Depot so I decided to give it a shot.
When we first walked it, the older lady at the counter was engaged in a conversation with her friend. She glanced over at my boyfriend and I and kept talking to her friend. No greeting or "I'll be with you in a second" or any kind of acknowledgment. After five minutes, someone else comes out to take our order. My boyfriend orders the lemon grass chicken and i order the seafood pho.
The lemongrass chicken was a good dish but, I thought the veggies were a tad raw. The chicken was tender and the lemongrass added a little zing.
My bowl of seafood pho was the BLANDEST PHO EVER. It was a ton of noodles, two shrimp, a scallop, a mussel, a piece of squid, and two pieces of imitation crab. The broth was so flavorless - I think it was fat free chicken broth or really watered down chicken bouillon. Usually, pho places add dried onion spice to flavor up the broth...not here. That pho was so forgettable...plus it was $7. I've ordered the same dish at other pho places in the east bay or LA for less than that.
Try the noodle dishes or dinner specials if you come here. Skip the pho!!
2 stars = the place is named Maui Pho but the pho is disappointing

This place was a great find thanks to Urbanspoon. I don't venture to Suisun often so I would've never found this place on my own.
The decor is simple, it has earth tone colors with the standard Thai paintings and artwork. The servers are friendly and sat us down right away.
I'm a flavor whimp so I don't eat anything really spicy. I played it safe with the pad thai while my bf ordered the red curry with shrimp and pineapple. The pad thai was some of the best that I've had at various Thai places. I'm not a big pan of peanuts and the peanut flavor was mellow in this dish. The noodles didn't stick together and the sauce was even distributed to all the noodles.
I loved the red curry with shrimp and pineapple, even though it was a bit spicy. The red sauce was tomato based, and I love tomatoes! I think I'm going to order this dish the next time I go and ask them to make it mild instead of medium spicy.
We also order the Thai iced coffee. It was really sweet and didn't have enough flavor kick like the Vietnamese coffee. It made for a good desert coffee. Overall, I'll be coming back to this place again.

Disclaimer: I am an abomination to the Chinese people - I can't tolerate spicy foods.
Now that we got that out of the way....
I came here for lunch with two co-workers for lunch. I told them that I didn't like spicy but, I would try anything once. The decor is plain but, the service is very good. The staff was very attentive and brought us appetizers and tea quickly.
My co-workers ordered some type of general's beef dish while I ordered the Chengdu style spicy shrimp. Chengdu style = deep fried meat in a load of dried red chili peppers. The spice mix in the dish smelled amazing, though. I sampled some of my co-worker's dish and I though the meat was dry and difficult to chew. The fried rice that came with the lunch special was mediocre and lacking in any flavor.
I can't tolerate spice so, I didn't even finish my dish. Even though I couldn't stomach my dish, I thought the chewiness of the beef dish and the blandness of the rice wasn't great. I won't be coming back here because this place simply isn't my taste. However, I encourage those who love spicy foods to give it a go.

I came here on a Thursday afternoon for lunch with a co-worker. I was debating on whether to get the lunch buffet or the salad/soup buffet - and I opted tor the lunch buffet.
Bad idea.
I thought the food was mediocre and borderline, bad. The veggie dishes were plain and the country fried steak (I can't believe I resorted to eating this) was soggy. The french onion soup was bland. I thought the salad bar was decent but, by the time I made it over there, the rest of the food had killed the experience for me. Lastly, I could taste the mercury in the grilled fish dish.
Why 2 stars instead of 1? The ICEE machine.

A group of us went here on a Thursday night for a farewell party. It was slow on Thursday night and the clientele wasn't too bad. There was plenty of seating and is good for large groups. The pool tables and darts weren't shabby, either.
They have lots of beer on tap - I love beer. Score. They don't have pitchers? WTF? Fail.
There's lots of TVs with various ball games on. Score. I like something salty to go with my beer. I was expecting peanuts or some kind of salty mix. When I asked, all they had were chips - nacho cheese doritos...in snack size bags. Fail.
We also ordered some washington apples and other drinks at the end - which were pretty good. Overall, this place was decent. However, I have a hard time getting over the nacho cheese doritos and no pitchers.

This place wasn't horrible but, it was boring and on the expensive side.
I went on a Thursday night for happy hour and sat at the bar area. Most of the people there were on the older and professional and honestly, a bit boring. The decor was supposed to sleek but, I thought it was plain.
The drinks were nice and strong. I had a cosmo and the bartender made it strong, which is how I like it. The crab cake appetizer was pretty good - not too dry or watery. They also had a scampi shrimp dish with bread that was pretty good. It's on the small plates menu but, its more like an appetizer.
This would be a good place to go if you're dressed up and ready for a night out on the town. Happy hour with friends? Pass.

I love pasta and when I heard the Never Ending Pasta Bowl was back, I just had to come. My BF and I went at 9:30 p.m. on Friday. We were seated within 5 minutes near the bar area.
Our server was nice and knowledgeable. There's also a full bar so my BF ordered a mojito while I ordered an Italian margarita. Kudos to the bartender, the drinks were a little strong - just how we like them.
The food was great. The bread was a bit cold but not too bad. The salad and minestrone soup was good as usual. My BF had spaghetti with marinana and meatballs. I had the penne with the meat sauce. The penne was al dente and sauce was nicely seasoned.
After the drinks, soup, breadsticks, and pasta dish - I was done. I asked the server how many people make it to the second pasta dish. She said not very many make it past two. Come to think of it, I would come to Olive Garden a lot when they had the never ending pasta bowl and I've NEVER made it past the first dish! I don't think my pig of a BF has made it past the first pasta plate, either. Unlmited breadsticks, salad, and pasta - what more can you ask for?

My boyfriend, daughter, and I stopped by Mary's on our way home from Sacramento. It was about 8:30 p.m. and we were seated right when we got in. The seating area was a bit too open for my taste and the restaurant was on the loud side.
The waitress was polite and very helpful. She put my daughter's order in first because my daughter was super hungry. My five year old was happily eating while the BF and I made our phone calls, updated our FBs, and looked over the menu.
My BF and I ordered the vegetarian calzone to share. He also got a side salad. He said the salad was pretty good but then again, how can you mess up salad?
When the calzone came, I was in for a surprise. Olives. Lots of lots of olives stuffed into this thing. I HATE olives. Needless to say, I didn't eat the calzone. The waitress was apologetic and asked if I wanted something else. I told her it wasn't her fault for the olives in the calzone. However, I hate olives so much that my appetite was gone after seeing that calzone.
Overall, 3 stars. The restaurant was a bit loud, the service was good, and it was a bit on the pricey side. I might come back but, I'll be sure to ask for no olives!

This is one of my favorite Starbucks. They're consistent with their drinks and their service has always been pleasant and prompt.
This is more of a drive-thru Starbucks because the seating area is limited, although I have seen some people camped out there with their laptop and textbooks. The outdoor seating area has a great view of the mall parking lot and a dumpster so, I utilize the drive-thru more than anything.
Yesterday, we went through the drive-thru and the barista accidentally gave us a tall caramel frap instead of a venti. We told the barista and without huffing and puffing, he made us a venti, no questions asked. He was even kind enough to offer us the tall drink since they were going to throw it out anyway.
Great customer service. I hate it when there's mis-communication that causes a mistake in the order and the server makes it a point to let me know that it's my fault but, they're willing to go out of their way to fix it. Finger point first, huff and puff, and then correct. I 'm glad I don't experience it at this Starbucks.

The bf and I usually stop here after a visit to Kaiser or before a ferry ride to SF. Since one of us is visiting Kaiser, it means that we have some kind of cold and are looking for brothy noodle comfort. He normally orders a pho with beef and tripe while I stick with my trusty seafood pho. The broth here is heavenly - it has the perfect blend of stock, green onions, and dried onion spice. It mixes together so well! If the broth isn't done well, the pho experience is ruined. The service is prompt and the servers are very pleasant. Don't expect the server to carry on a long conversation about which pho to order. Look at the pictures, know what you want, and order by number.
One thing that I have to note - they do their Vietnamese coffee a bit differently here. Instead of packing the coffee into the filter and pouring hot water into it, I think they pour brewed coffee into it. This alters the coffee flavor a bit. Don't get me wrong - it's still a butt kicking espresso treat but it tastes a little...different. Not a bad different, just different.
Sadly, I no longer live in the bay area. However, if I'm ever in Vallejo, I will be sure to stop here.
