Dark and brooding, Natural woods and low lighting.  Soccer on the two screens above the bar.

This space is small inside, but features a large outdoor seating area, apparently they do a little bonfire thingy in the summer.

They have a wheelchair ramp out front.

This space would go down in history as the first time I ever consumed an Old Fashioned (fruit not muddled). I'm not a bourbon drinker, but this drink was definitely perfectly balanced, and actually, it was fabulous. I also had a really good whiskey sour.

The Dark and Stormy my date ordered wasn't so good, so we sent it back in favor of another Old Fashioned. They apologized and brought us what we asked for, no problem.

I am NOT a whiskey drinker. NOTNOTNOT. And due to the influence of these very strong cocktails, I was talked into trying what I was told was one of the most vile tasting liquors out there. I thought it was called cyanide, and it coulda been named that for sure. The bartender was more than happy to provide me a tiny tiny amount of Cynar to try, apparently it is a sweet Italian liqueur that's infused with herbs-and artichokes.  I guess they mix it with Coca Cola.

It was pretty nasty.

This is a really good spot for a date. I browsed the rotating beer taps and menu- They have a lot of awesome beer choices for such a small bar, and the Yard features mexi-fare type dishes. I'll be back to try them again in the near future.

After going back to have more of their delicious organic IPA (Which has really, really grown on me) and a slice of their A-Mazing Mudshark Porter Cheesecake, i'm officially a fan.  I wasn't brave enough to try the 1$ oyster shooters for HH. because the allure of the amazing 6.95 chocolate decadence that is this dessert was too much to resist. Go just for that, if you don't like beer.

This Brewpub does serve up some tasty Organic beer creations- specifically the IPA,which is the only one I've tried. I thought it was a nice balance of strong hoppy flavor. I've become accustomed to double IPA'S so the flavor of Fish Tale's offering came off a bit muted to my tastes.  It was a little pricey for a pitcher if I remember correctly, not enough to deter me from visiting again, but I may be ordering just pints so I can try more beer next time.

The menu had a decent offering of bar food.  The salad on the special board was something involving a salmon pate and asparagus and sounded delicious. They also offered a smoked salmon clam chowder.  My honey and I opted to split something, and a plate of Nachos was the most attractive option. We ordered it with beef and guacamole.  It was a pretty good portion of nachos, but it was a tad bit pricey for the add-on's.  I definitely got spoiled by amazing HH nachos at another establishment so most other nachos pale in comparison.  But these were generously loaded with plenty of olives, black beans, tomatoes, onions, and a huge portion of jalapenos, which would turn me off normally.  My boyfriend, however, thinks jalapenos are their own separate food group and eats them like candy.

We will be back to try Fish Tale again, although with prices in line with what they are, it won't be a super regular stop for us.    Show owner comment »

Holy Crap. This is definitely one of the diviest spots on Broadway. But, you know what? It's awesome. Taco Mondays, and the tacos are actually quite delicious. A tiny bar, not a lot of selection, but just enough to keep most satisfied. The crowd- mostly older locals, but this was a pretty mellow crowd honestly.

I made friends with the bartender almost instantly. I also got to meet the owner. Everyone here was welcoming and friendly, and I will definitely be back to hang out here again. Karaoke Weds-Sun is a definite attraction for me.

I'm suprised to see so many negative reviews for this Care Plus.  This clinic is a walk-in, they always get me in the same day, and my ailments are quickly and efficiently diagnosed.  I have been here three times, and I am thankful that they have a no-nonsense approach to care, and offer a small discount for cash-pay patients.  I've been to other clinics that are "walk in", and have paid twice as much for care that was a lot lower caliber than they offer here. The office staff isn't the most charming, but all of the assistants, nurses, and PA's i've ever experienced have all been very professional and I feel that they actually care about me and they seem to trust that I know what's up with my body. For what it is, it's a good, convenient clinic.

Holy fudge. And beer.

I came here with an awesome group of friends and fellow Yelpers to try some of their delicious brew and awesome food. I was thoroughly impressed with the selection of both beer and food offerings here. The menu was quite expansive, and the beer offerings had a lot of variety.  I wasn't in the mood to start drinking right away, so I ordered a glass of the Rogue rootbeer. It was quite delicious, and had an earthy, homemade taste that definately sets it apart from mass produced root beer.

There were so many tempting offerings on the menu! I was lured by offerings such as angus corn dogs, wiener offerings a plenty,  fried halibut, a special three cheese grilled cheese, and kobe blue cheese balls.

I settled on a cup of the infamous beercheese soup and a house salad. Pretty simple order, but the food was delicious.  The soup was a lot thicker than I expected- more of a chowderlike texture than an actual soup. In fact, it was so viscous, it could have made for a sauce for pasta or something.  It had very good flavor, although it didnt really taste like beer, which I guess is a good thing.  The house salad is very understated, but features a combination of some of my very favorite ingredients- dried cranberries, toasted hazelnuts, fresh baby spring greens, and incredible rogue blue cheese with a balsamic-ale dressing.  I was very happy.

I got a chance to sample one beer- it wasnt a rogue offering, it was called "chamo-mellow", and it was honestly more reminescent of a cider to me than a beer, it was sweet, mild, spicy, and delightful. I liked it, and I am a fan of more bitter beers.

And my companions chose to order these enormous brownie alamodes with fudge sauce.  Of course, I was FORCED to try some. And OMFGWTFBBQ, it was definately a 16 oz glass o milk kinda affair. The brownie was umptious, moist, warm, delicious- the fact that they cover it in hot fudge and vanilla ice cream is just cruel, because you can't just try one tiny bite. Believe me, I tried.

Sorelli Pizza

Update - 12/31/2011
Went back, ordered the 13 inch thin crust half hawk and half trojan no sausage, and an absolutely delicious "mini" caesar (more than enough for two, or one if you're making it a meal! Their portions are HUGE here) And it was just right. Still delicious pizza and not overpowering amounts of carbs. The thin crust here is comparable to some pizza places' regular crust. Sorelli's is an awesome local business with amazing food and great service. I will be back again for sure.

As a disclaimer, I remember Sorelli being much different when I was in high school.  They used to sponsor some of Terrace's sports, and there was a little student-made commercial that would air every morning during the student run tv channel that morning announcements came across.  The girl that did the commercials was someone I grew up with, but I found it SOOOO annoying that we had to watch it every.single.day. "You haven't had GOOD pizza, until you've had SORELLI pizza" (capitalized to show how she enunciated those two words).

Well, the location is the same, but the pizza has definately changed.  For around 20 bucks, you can get a 15 inch, literally about a million pound-weight pizza with an ungodly thick crust and tons and tons of fresh toppings.  They have a pretty expansive menu, but I think if you're going to an establishment that has "pizza" in the namesake, you should start with that. Be warned, the pies are so massive, they take a long time to cook.

Other reviewers have mentioned that they have changed their recipe, while this seems true as far as I remember how their pizza tasted about 12 years ago, the sauce is still garlicky, the crust is crunchy and massive, and I noticed they DO have a thin crust (which I will opt for next time).  Two pieces of their massive regular crust large had me stuffed to the gills, and I didn't even finish all my crust! The regular crust is a little too intense for me- I've been low carb since last year, and although pizza is a definate splurge, the amount of breadiness of the crust left me feeling too full and literally ill- through no fault of the pizza, it was just too much bread. Carb overload.

The best thing about Sorelli in my opinion? They put Kielbasa on their pizzas. KIELBASA. It's like music to this Polish girl's ears, and it was some damn tasty ku-bassi at that.  The Trojan Special comes with Pepperoni, Sausage, Pineapple, and aformentioned Kielbasa, and is covered in tons of cheese. It was divine, next time i'd order it sans sausage, i'm not a huge fan of sausage pizza and it was a bit overkill with the other ingredients.  Overall, a great value, as I hate spending 20+ bucks on dough cheese and sauce, but the pies here at Sorelli are definately worth that. Enough food for two days worth of enjoyment, even. A large could feed a hungry family of four no problem. And- they have Ninkasi IPA available in 22 oz bottles. Win.

Mr. Gyros

What can I really say about Mr. Gyros that hasn't already been said by hundreds?

The gyro combo I had consisted of a small batch of "greek fries" (mass produced french fries topped with feta and lemon), a large overstuffed lamb/beef hybrid gyro, and a simple can of soda.  It was very affordable at 8.10 including tax.

This tiny hole in the wall is best suited for to go orders, as it is very cramped to try and eat in here. I found a seat at the counter to enjoy my greek inspired goods after some ladies waiting on takeout left. The food was ready really fast.  The pita was perfect and fluffy. The cucumber, onion and tomato were fresh. The feta was just tangy enough. I thought it was a really good gyro.

Although, it has been called one of the best in the Seattle area, i'll give it that, it's ONE of the best, but not the best gyro I have ever had. The tzatziki on my gyro didn't taste that fresh, lacked garlic and cucumber flavor, and tasted as if it was cut by mayonnaise or greek dressing. The meat was ok, not as heavily spiced as I am used to from gyro meat. And, they put lettuce on the gyro.  I know, people really like lettuce, but I don't think lettuce has any place on a gyro AT ALL.

The fries served with it were ok, nothing spactacular.  I tucked them into my gyro, because that's how I like it,  which was massive, and filling. It was really good, but it was not comparable to the greek restaurant in my hometown.  I'd definately come back and order again when i'm in the neighborhood, but I wouldn't go out of my way to go there.

I used to get coffee here pretty often, and it had always been pretty good. It had been a while, and I stopped by this morning to get a sugar free white chocolate mocha. Service was fast, but the girls inside were working on a couple other drinks at the same time. I don't know what happened, or if there was some kinda mixup, but my white chocolate mocha tastes like banana, and it's quite disgusting.  I probably won't be going back here because I felt for the price (4.09 for a 12 oz... and i tipped) I coulda went to corporate coffee (starbucks) and got my drink made properly, and it kinda pisses me off. If I wasn't on my way to work, i'd have went back and complained and asked them to re-make it. But since I had to be on time, I didn't have time to go back, wait in line, and do that.  It wasn't like it was a difficult drink to remember, or make.

And, who drinks banana flavoring in their coffee? Weirdos, that's who...

OK, I do like the 2 Pint IPA now that I've gotten to try it. The beer could definitely be enhanced with more flavorful food options in my opinion. Perhaps it is because they have one lonely convection oven to cook all their "fried" foods in, which I think in the future, should be addressed, since this place is quite busy. I honestly think that just a few tweaks to the recipes, such as toasting the ciabatta buns, using non-mass produced burger patties (that taste like breakfast sausage when bacon is added to the burger),  adding more spices, and serving fresher coleslaw (maybe throw some carrots and raisins in there for more flavor?) that isn't day-old tasting, using fresh garlic cloves, instead of the industrial jarred crap on the garlic "fries". Maybe a house made aioli or fry sauce for the fries. Minor improvements. That's all this place needs, in my opinion, to make it a destination not just for locals but to attract Seattle-centric people to this brewpub. I'd gladly pay more money for food that had fresh ingredients and thought put into it's composition. But who am I to say, really?

I hate to be a stick in the mud towards a local hometown establishment (founded in good ol' MLT, WA), but my first experience at the brewpub this weekend came off a tad underwhelming.

I've never been a huge fan of their beer. It never tastes carbonated enough to me.  Every beer I have tried from them over the years, has been totally blah to my beer-buds.  I was hoping this would change, as they had a promising looking 2 Pint Double IPA on the menu. I was titillated with excitement, only to find that they were out of my selection.

I tried the regular IPA.  Tasted watered-down and extremely bitter, even for an IPA.  I tried the Copper Ale. Marginally better than the IPA, but still, lacking the carbonation. The beer tasted flat. FLAT. It's just one of those things. I guess they just make all their beer that way, because as mentioned before, I've drank many an offering over the years.

We were there for a party, and we all ordered food. I was pleased to see that they had a Saturday dining special, for Two beers, One burger or sandwich, and you get the second burger or sandwich free. It was a really good deal.  Price-wise, Big E is definitely where it should be as far as beer goes. Regular prices for food were straddling the line towards being a little high.

The food wasn't spectacular, as a matter of fact there were a lot of complaints around the table about portion size, quality (chicken sandwiches were a tad overcooked) and choice. A few sides were wrong on our orders, as well.  In my experience, I tried the blue cheese burger.  It was tasty meat, i would have preferred to know that the "blue cheese" was actually blue cheese dressing and not just straight up blue cheese, with a side of underwhelming coleslaw. It was edible, it tasted fine, it just wasn't what I expected.

Big E could do a few more things with it's menu to make this spot a must-stop in Lynnwood. But I suppose as brewpubs come, it fills the need. I just wish I was more excited and impressed with it.

I had a girl-date this past weekend with fellow Yelper and bosom buddy Kristin C, and she suggested this location in downtown Bothell as a good halfway point between the both of us.  I was surprised just how close by this was to where I live in Terrace, it was a quick 15 minute commute on a early Saturday eve.

I think that this establishment makes a wonderful effort to carry a lot of really good local (and seasonal, we are after all, in the winter months, full of winter beer varietals) brands of micro.  My stupid taste buds, though i tasted a couple of the other seasonal offerings such as the Silver City offering, which was tasty, I still opted for a lovely Wildcat IPA. What can I say, I'm a freakin' Hop-head.

I was pretty hungry, and chose to nosh on some reasonably-priced fish and chips.  These are real chips, as in potato chip style. I opted for the Cajun spiced variety, and I'm glad I did- they were quite delicious. But, the fish was even better. A tender, juicy, obviously hand panko-breaded cod that was perfectly cooked, not fishy in the least, and the crunch- ohhh the crunch on those fillets.  They also make their own tartar, and it was delicious as well, with a good dose of dill and citrus bite.  Add a little malt vinegar on the fish and I was very satisfied.

The service was pretty good to us while we were there, we were very engrossed in our conversation and they were patient with us, and were more than ready to accommodate when we were ready to order.  We were even served a little lemon-drop "amuse" at the end, because she had mixed too much, and "no reason to let good vodka go to waste!" Here, here.  The level of service here makes me wonder if they also own the Main Street Alehouse in Kingston, where I was also very spoiled by the waitstaff.  I will be back, maybe on another girl-date, maybe on my own. It's so close by, the parking on the street is pretty easy, and it's a nice, welcome atmosphere, not too pretentious, but not divey in the least.
