The best coffeehouse/cafe ever. It's truly my favorite. Tons of seating, cool art, GREAT food, and delicious coffee drinks/teas.
I would come here almost everyday when I went to school in San Diego. Granted I lived right around the corner, but I never tired of their food. I crave the Chopped Summer Salad and Brie Quesadilla from afar, and I ALWAYS stop by when I'm in town.

I think the food is good (a little pricey but apparently it used to be a whole hell of a lot better) and it's a cool place to bring people who are first timers to SF. The movies that play on the wall in the courtyard lends good dinner convo. If you're sitting facing the wall they have mirrors that run along the wall, so you don't have to miss out on all of the Mission hipsters, whining and dining.
It's really loud! But you can always get a table and if you can't then you can go and have a drink at the bar down the hallway (Lazlo).

The service is not so great if you don't speak Chinese, but all you really need to order are the xiao long bao. Other goodies are the pan fried pork buns and sticky rice filled with bamboo and pork belly.
Note: Even though the place is called Shanghai Dumplings, no where on the menu does actually say "Shanghai Dumplings". Do NOT even attempt to ask for Shanghai dumplings. The waiter will just give you a blank stare.
