someone alerted dr. yesin of my post and she contacted me. she looked up my dental file and has been very helpful in providing me with information on the procedure that was done and materials used (it was not ceramic after all). she offered to replace the crown w/o charge, but unfortunately i won't be back for a year. dr. yesin obvi cares about her patients, including former ones, so i've upgraded my review!

we tried everything on the tasting menu (when two options were available, we chose one of each) with the wine pairings and overall, awesome. when in doubt, always choose the most decadent thing, people!

stand-outs: foie gras "torchon" (pressed in cheesecloth for 12 hours and chilled) with vanilla-scented blackberry compote, filet mignon (perfect!), warm chocolate pudding/cake

so-so: bouillabaisse (creamy, uninspired), scallops, sturgeon

the wine pairings were so right. service was professional. i especially appreciated the efforts of our server and the manager to deal with the unpleasant couple next to us. oh, it was kinda cold on the patio so my advice is to sit right next to a heat lamp while you enjoy your meal!

i've been waiting for years to write this post! 2.5 years ago, the bouncer let in my hot ginger friend but not me because i only had a non-government-issued isic card. i was well over 18, thank you very much. i angrily (drunkenly) went to my room and tried to yelp about it, but of course yelp was not in the UK 2.5 years ago. so i ate my lyon bar, drunk-texted for a bit, and went to sleep.

i ended up having some fun nights at the fez over the next couple of months, though. the coat check people lost my friend's umbrella. but it was fun! nothing like stumbling home in the rain, pressing up against the window to oggle the fashion at karen millen, and eating at trailer of life after a night at the fez

there really is something for everyone -- vegans, chocaholics, secret fatties, etc.

the use of biodegradable/compostable products makes this bay area hippie very happy. how come so many of you new yorkers don't recycle? *shielding self from tough east coast tirade*

just as expensive as kokkari, but lacking in warmth (service, ambience, quality, flavor). the server told me that i ordered a cheap bottle of wine. he said, "sometimes i am like you and i just need a quick drink after work, does not have to be nice heh heh heh" -- what an asshole!

i agree with others who say the food is only okay, and too e$$pensive

i had this strange problem with my piaggio -- every few months, my battery would crap out on me and i'd have to replace it ($50-80 plus labor). this sucked. every place i took it to, the mechanics would tell me to charge the battery, or they'd scratch their heads and just replace it, chalking it up to a previous "bad" battery. not anymore! i took it into first kick and the problem was FINALLY diagnosed correctly. the scooter needed a new voltage regulator because the current one was overcharging (and killing the health of) every battery i put in there. it's like i was going to the acupuncturist and the chiropractor to fix the symptoms when i should have gone to the doctor for a proper diagnosis of the problem.

the only negative part of my experience was a small part of the bill. i noticed that the initial 10 minutes of checking out my scooter before i even agreed to service was charged as a half hour of labor... but since they were able to fix the problem when no one else could, i am grateful.

also, they had in stock a mirror that no one else i called had. they sold me the single rather than making me buy the pair, like other places would.

bottom line, they know what they are talking about.

phonebooth. i always thought of you as my neighborhood bar, i'm sorry that i didn't put in the effort to make our relationship come to fruition. now that i am moving to the east bay, i can only express my feelings through the lyrics of james blunt:
