Makes for a good change of pace from other Tofu places in the bay area because Gaesung is in North Korea. The style of the dishes is a little different. I like to order tofu here where the "mild" is actually a clear broth, not a chili to be seen anywhere. Its a notch more expensive that other tofu places, but it has a clean and rather unique taste.
Excellent Korean food. If you want mesquite charcoal grilled beef self serve, you must go someplace else. But I go here for gas hot plate grilled sam-gyup-sal (3 layer pork). Most Korean places live and die on their side dishes, and the side dishes here are uniformly good.
It's open weird hours (5pm-2am) so its a night time Korean drink-and-grill place. Normally I don't drink Asian beer, because its about as strong as a gnat's piss, but somehow the beer here goes well with the sam-gyup-sal. They got soju here too if that's more your speed.

Definitely not a place to eat at before and important business meeting (unless your business partners are dogs :) ) because your clothes will smell like grilled beef for hours.
The side dishes are mediocre, which is usually the death knell for a Korean place, but somehow the excellent barbeque beef makes up for it.
