finally had a date take me here because no guy has EVER taken me to a romantic /somewhat upscale restaurant.
anyway had the vegan duck which is 25.00. it was good as was the bread.
you are paying purely for ambiance and this place has it. its beautiful and even when its cold, it feels great sitting outside right next to the creek with a heater next to you and all the twinkle lights.
guys if you want to impress a girl without looking like a douche, take her here.
its the kind of place you go back to for special occasions.

cute little place for a sandwich or salad. went here at night because a lot of places on ventura were closed early on a sunday. the cilantro dressing is excellent.
wow! great menu!! had the fruit loop pancakes which were excellent. only thing annoying was that how i had it with a fruit kebab but it really wasnt a kebab at all lol. would like to try out many more things on the menu, but im 35 minutes away.
at lunch 2 slices of cheese pizza=5.00 (as of early november 2009). pretty good pizza considering i typically hate thin crust. at night the same slices seem to go up a few bucks though. annoying, but a lot of places tag on more money towards dinner.
would definitely go back when im in the area and feeling pizza. this place has some meaning to me as a dear friend of mine from out of the area and i went here 2x within 2 days.

it was definitely fun and something i would recommend someone from out of town doing because like other reviews mention, you get to see some of hollywood, check out places you have never been to, and just do somethng different.
the reasons i am giving it 4 out 5 stars is its a bit pricey. you can usually find discount tickets for 45 bucks though. also at the end when we met that tom at the bar, he went to shake our hands and when i put mine out, he seemed to intentionally not shake it.... im thinking it was a mistake, but it just rubbed me the wrong way and seemed rude, but what do i know.
TIP- MAKE SURE YOU HAVE A REALLY FUN GROUP OF PEOPLE GOING WITH YOU! you get wine and beer in 2 different places, and my friends were were wanting to go after 5 minutes. it pissed me off how there were all these beers on the table and that i was the only one drinking it and didnt get the chance to finish. its kind of like going on a long road trip with friends. you need to really know what their personality is like.

i am staying at the brown and just had the full breakfast buffet for $15. i was a bit disappointed in the breads here and how there were no waffles and pancakes. it was my fault though because they dont always have waffles or pancakes as part as their buffet (they alternate with blintzes which i HATE!!!).
oatmeal was good as well the potatoes and eggs.

had the chicken shawarma . it was okay. i know shawarma- father's side are mizrahi jews and i spent a lot of time in israel. doesnt taste at all like real shawarma, but it was still tasty for what it was. tasted more like a a chicken wrap you would get anywhere.
the workers here were pretty nice and this is a nice place to go if you are just looking for something casual and dont want people staring at you if you are alone.

pretty good pizza. i like a thicker crust and this definitely was thicker than most places. had the 10 inch pizza which is good for 1 hungry person, or could be a lunch and dinner for 1 if you arent that hungry.

i am a tourist and checking out louisville as a place to relocate. went here for the bourbon ball pancakes which were $13. they were very good, but i dont think this is the place i would come back to unless i brought someone who has never been there.
i didnt think the service was that great. i am a single traveler and people didnt seem to want to service me (eh heh heh) because they probably figure less people= less tip.

my friend and i came on a saturday at 9:30. we entered and the worker appeared totally out of it. when we ordered he said they just opened and werent ready yet. the guy was just upset because we wanted to place an order.
we finally ordered and it took maybe 40 minutes to get a breakfast burrito and for my friend to get her sandwich. it took her 60 minutes just to get her chai.
we werent the only ones who thought the worker was super out of it. a lady who was there and ordered waited 15 minutes and then finally said to the guy do you think you can get me my drink to have while you make the food?
rude and out of it.

wifi was working a few minutes, then not working the next.
if bad service is hip and indie, then fuck it, i will just go to starbucks and pay for wifi which i hate doing.
