Costa's

I went to Costa's last nite for dinner.  We drove around a couple times trying to find parking on the street before realizing that they have free valet parking.  The valet sign is a bit hard to see.  But it's nice that they have a small lot behind the restaurant where they park the cars.

Inside, the place is HUGE!  It didn't look that big from the outside.  Nicely decorated too making me feel like I'm in Greece, not that I've ever been to Greece.

We were going to order the TZATZIKI, but since a couple of us ordered the Gyro Platter, the waitress saved us a couple of bucks by telling us that the platter includes the Tzatziki sauce.  Very cool!  Bonus tips for the waitress.  We also got the SAGANAKI cheese.  This I was a little disappointed in.  The "OPA!" from the waitress is a bit underwhelming. It's not so much a yell, more like a little whisper.  Come on! I want a show!  =)  The cheese wasnt' very melted at all.  It's still pretty solid and chewy.  I'm used to the saganaki cheese being softer, stringier, almost melting out of its breaded shell.  I'm sure if she'd yelled the "OPA!" louder, the cheese would have tasted better.  I'm sure of it!

The gyro platter is HUGE!  The onions were sweet and strong!  Plenty of gyro meat for two.  I couldn't finish it all.  It's pretty standard gyro.  I've tasted better and I've tasted worse.  I should have gotten some other lamb dish but I wasn't in the mood to deal with cutting, dipping, chewing last nite.  =)

All in all, an ok restaurant in Greek town.

I went here last nite for a friend's birthday dinner.  My Carne Asada, a marinated beef skirt steak, cooked to my Medium Rare liking came out medium rare!  Yay for chefs who can cook meat just right at medium rare!  The meat was deliciously marinated and salty.  That's how I like my steaks, salty!

The fresh guac appetizer that my friend order was yummy!  The bottomless chips/salsa are great freebies.

Snappity-snap! This place is not cheap!  Steak, a marg, tax + tip will leave you $30+ in the hole!  It's not crazy expensive in the grand scheme of culinary delights, but for this restaurant it's a bit overpriced.  Hence my 3-star rating.

Went here for Sunday lunch when I was in town.  It's a nice restaurant where the wait staff is attentive to you needs.  The bar is coolie lit in blue.  The menu had a decent variety of entrees for everyone, assuming everyone is looking for NO food.  I had the blackened catfish that was seasoned real good.  Portion size was appropriate for the price too.  The biscuit is friggin yummy especially when they bring them out hot and freshly sprayed with butter.  Yuummmy!

I've never had fresh ramen before visiting Santoka Ramen.  Let me tell you.  It's friggin delicious!!!  I had the set of Miso Pork Ramen, the rice with Charsiu, and egg.  All are very flavorful and tasty.  The pork is tender and just melts in your mouth.

I went on a Sat right at 1P.  It was very busy, but the wait wasn't bad at all.  Maybe about 10 minutes.  I got the Large bowl, and it was a lot of food to eat.  My tip is to get the regular size if you're getting the set.

I'll definitely be back for more ramen!

My friend who lives in Louisville brought me to this restaurant for lunch one day during my motorcycle vacation.  This place is at a great location, overlooking the Ohio River.  Charming is how I would describe the restaurant.  I had the fried white fish.  It was ok, but a little bit fishy tasting.  But was good none-the-less.  The oatmeal pie was sweet and satisfying.  All in all, an ok place for lunch.

While on a motorcycle vacation, my friends and I stopped in here for lunch.  I had the bread pork tenderloin sandwich with a nice helping of sweet potato fries drenched in brown sugar sauce.  The sandwich was big and tender, seasoned to my liking.  The sweet potato fries, yummy by itself, was sent into orbit with the brown sugar sauce.  The waiter was great, bringing small personal size refill jugs out for each of us.  Excellent place with delicious food.

I was in the area for a motorcycle vacation and stopped in for dinner here one nite.  This restaurant served up some fabulous Mexican dishes.  I had the Carnitas.  The pork was marinated perfectly.  The best part was that the portions are HUGE!  You definitely get your money's worth.  The waiter was great as well, keeping our drinks filled and was very attentive to whatever we needed.  He even brought us friend ice cream, on the house!  It was so good, in fact that our group came back the next nite.  I had steak and shrimp.  It was delicious as well.  Wow!!!

I was in the area for vacation and had heard they have good prime rib here.  So for my last nite in the area, I came here for dinner.

From the outside, it looked like a non-descript building.  Inside, the hostess was very pleasant and the place is decked out in pirate theme.  I would have never guessed it.  =)  It's dark inside.  Each booth is in a private little "cove".  The waitress dressed as a pirate.  AARRRRR!!!!

I had their prime rib royale which has some sort of "Special sauce".  It was thicker than au jus.  It was good.  But I think I like the regular au jus better.  Desert was yummy too!

I was expecting this place to be all gimicky and gaudy, but it turned out to be a nice restaurant with a theme serving up some delicious food.  Definitely a good find!

Decent restaurant serving up meat and fish.  It felt old but pretty cool in there.  I had a couple of complimentary house beers bc I was staying at a hotel nearby that had some sort of deal with the restaurant.  I'm not a beer drinker but whatever beer it was, I thought it was pretty tasty.

I had gout recently so I couldn't eat meat that nite.  So I had some sort of fish for dinner.  It was ok.  Not the freshest tasting fish, but it wasn't bad either.  My gf had prime rib.  I had 1 bite of that.  It was bloody and delicious!  Skip the italian soda drinks.  They weren't all that.  The waitress was nice.  We wanted some sorbet for desert that wasn't on the menu and she brought it out for us anyways.  That was unexpected and really nice!  Extra tip for her!

Baker's Bakery & Cafe

I was out in the Black Hills on vacation and had read that Baker's Bakery is a good place to stop for lunch.  So I did.

I don't know what they're talking about but this place isn't all that.  In 1 word, "blah".  The service was slow.  I don't think it's the waitress' fault bc they had her servicing a boatload of tables.  So the wait was a while.  Then the wait for the food took a long time too.  The bison burger was over cooked, maybe it sat under the heat lamp for a long time.  I didn't care for it.

There was a table of 6 motorcycle people.  They were there before I got there and only got their burgers when I was paying the bill.  I gave them props for sticking it out and not leaving.  Hopefully, their food was better than mine.
