I can't say I've ever been to a worse Taco Bell in my life.
Scratch that, I can't say I've ever gone to a worse Fast Food Restaurant in my life.

Taking in the quality of the place, you don't expect much. That was until the day they RAN OUT OF GROUND BEEF. Can you name anything on the typical order from this place that doesn't include ground beef?
Another time I had walked into the store, stood at the counter for two minutes, then they  told me they were closed and I would need to do drive through, apparently they forgot to lock the store up in time. The question was, why couldn't they just honor my order there instead of making me go back in my car and wait in the drive thru line? I've never seen slower service. Fast (keyword Fast) food people, I could always cross the street to Taco Time and maybe I would but Taco Bell keeps the market on unusually late hours for this kind of greasebucket feeding frenzy. It'll kill me to say that I may once again come back here out of sheer desperation for that late night chalupa but I will not enjoy it.

The tagline above our seats was "Here, Everyone Is A Regular". . .

Except me, cause I'm never coming back!

I pass this place all the time on the way to workout at LA Fitness right next door. Being located across the street from the abysmal Twisted Taco, I had hoped the curse had not traveled far. I was wrong.
We were greeted and sat behind the bar area and even sitting down noticed the tables were raised a bit too high for comfort. Started off ordering a beer and two waters. Waters arrived nearly 10 minutes later but still no beer. This was not a crowded night and we were arms length from where the beer taps were so we could have poured it our selves. I read so much about bread rolls here but those were "In the oven, be out in 2 minutes".
We went ahead and ordered our food. Me with the Chicken Pasta and my friend with Fish and Chips. He asked to replace the fries with a salad though. Salad was the only part of the meal to arrive on time.

The food arrived about 15 minutes later, with the beer ordered at the beginning of our arrival. Food was dull. My plate was so greasy it could have rotted away the plate holding it if I wasn't so hungry. The Fish and Chips did arrive. . . with chips we had told them to replace with salad. Tried them anyway and they weren't good either.

About midway through our meal guess what arrives; Bread Rolls! Alright so our meal nearly finished it's time to begin eating the openers right? These things were straight up dough! I poked my index finger straight through the center with little to no ease and just called it a doughnut.

Bad meal, bad service, bad location.
Visting again? O'Hell No

For over a year and a half we've been waiting to see what would replace the rainbow-fenced GLBT bar, Stage Door. Golden Dolphin began a full reconstruction in this little spot with a vast parking lot out front. A huge facelift indeed, the place has a lot of room and even outdoor seating.

Last night was it's grand opening and there were a lot of customers. Fully packed throughout the day with locals coming to see what this place was about. The ambiance is quaint with paintings of the ocean on the walls, a tall ceiling with kind of a sardine can ascetic to it and oars and other sea-released things decorated around the place.

We were greeted in the waiting area right away and sat with no wait. It was around dinner time and we were ready to eat a full meal. They didn't have a liquor license like a lot of places in Tucker so we just got water to drink. They brought out bread which was warm but very very dry. We ordered Crab Cakes for an appetizer. My roommate ordered the Tuna and I got the catfish.

Our meal and appetizer came out right about the same time. Crab cakes were very very good; soft and a lot of flavor. This and the mashed potatoes (which had a tasty garlic flavor) were the best thing that night. My catfish was nothing to write home about. It was okay but nothing special. The hush puppies & fries that came along with it were very plain too.

My roommate had ordered his tuna Medium Rare, but it came out Well if not Medium Well. One bite into it and you could see that it wasn't cooked as asked. The waiter was very polite about this though and brought out a perfectly medium rare cooked tuna. The difference was night and day. Much better and much redder inside. We thanked him for making the order change and have to say that was something that means a lot for a first time visitor.

The prices weren't bad with lunch specials and a lot of other things to order. I definitely want to come back and try their Swordfish. All in all a good addition to Tucker's strip of restaurants.

Came here on a late Thursday night. Camel cigarette spokesgirl recommended it to us an told us that it was Dubstep night, which they have weekly. This was my friend's 21st birthday so we were up for getting toasted here.

From outside almost 2 blocks down we could literally FEEL the bass kicking at full blast. Inside it was dark, grimy, and sweaty; perfect Dubstep venue! No cover was a treat and drinks were moderately priced. There was no official coat rack but right behind the entrance was an area and the bartender was nice enough to watch the girl's purses.

In the back they had a photo op booth going on which was pretty entertaining. One point in the night there was a fight about to break out but the security made quick work of that, they were also polite and quick to respond. Some regulars there were up on stage wearing costumes and dancing around, it's entertaining to watch as well as dance with them!

Overall expect to go in and get soaked with sweat. If that is your forté, then you've come to the right place!

I had actually passed by this place a lot of times but never had the time to eat a full pizza. My college is right down the road so I assumed it would take awhile and never come here. This day I was allowed a 30 minute break between classes so I figured I'd give it a go.

The place is very spacious and the tvs are playing Korean TV on satellite. The nice girl at the counter explained that they do have appetizers which would be perfect for me. I ordered the Mild and Sweet 10 piece wings. The wait was not long at all. In about 10 minutes she brought me something extra, a small sidesalad with ranch dressing on it. totally unexpected but highly appreciated. The wings came shortly after I finished this and they were magnificent. I really wanted a quick snack and the size on these were perfect. Great meal at a great price, I will definitely be coming back here again!

I went here with a group of five other friends. I loved the menu and really wanted to see this place in person.

The look and feel of this place is very nice. Two stories, wooden ceiling, large Japanese lamps, and decor of Japanese everywhere; it looks awesome! While the seating was a bit cramped we had plenty of table space for the food provided. I really had a tough time choosing which Shochu that I wanted. I was told the sake isn't quite top notch and to try one of the shochus. I had sampled their drinks before at Japan Fest so I knew what to expect. I had tried the Shiro, which came out a bit too dry and flavorless and the Godai which was a step up but maybe a bit too much for me.

Ordering was no problem but one friend had a hard time deciding. She didn't order with the rest of us but when she was ready it was a bit difficult to try to order for her. They brought out foods, we said that she was ready to order but nobody actually took the order until we found the original server and said to take the order. I guess you need to be ready when everyone else orders their meals. We all agreed they brought the food out too fast. We wanted a little at a time to pace our drinking of shochu and this particular night it was all at once.

My main order, the Pork Kimchee was pretty good. Not the best I've had and definitely not the spiciest but the flavor was nice and it was a decent sized portion. The Umaki Egg smelled really bad but the flavor was alright. The last order the Chicken Karaage was definitely not up to par that night. The meat seemed very flat and I believe it was white and not dark meat. We couldn't really finish it and I've been told there's nights where its really good (why else would we order chicken at a place like this?) but tonight it didn't do much for us. My friends had different kinds of food such as Pumpkin Age, Ten Musubi and Takoyaki. All seemed decent but nothing really came off as amazing.

The bill came out to over $150, which we should have asked for split but they were nice enough to let us itemize our meal. With such a big price tag we were willing to give a generous tip, but the gratuity was included for us. Not what I'm used to but that was fine.

Maybe it was an off night or they were too busy (especially my friend waiting 15 mins to give her order once she was ready), I will definitely give them a second chance. I wish because of the amazing interior and feel of the place I could say something better but this came off as very average.

Went here for a Mother's Day brunch. On this, I had already expected a large crowd and on top of that the Tournament Players Championship was right around the corner. To my surprise, the place had plenty of room and we secured a very nice outdoor seating.

Of course we had to ask where the restaurant name came from which the waitress explained in full detail about the pirates and rum and other things I can't remember but she knew her stuff. We all had been told their seafood items were not the best so all of us ordered breakfast items. The french toast was very good. Eggs Benedict also very good and fresh. My friend had ordered a fish sandwich and literally got a full fish! The waitress herself was surprised he managed to finish the entire thing. She was very friendly and as it was a hot day she was very good about bringing refills of water. We asked for an unbrella for our table but she said they typically fly away due to the breeze, totally understandable. Drink specials were $3 rum punch which was also good and strong.

At the end of our meal my friends all treated the moms and paid for their meal. I had put my credit card and my two friends threw in two twenty dollar bills. The waitress took everything but when she came back the total to sign for the card was the same. I asked her if the cash was added and she said there was no cash in the payment. While I understand accidents do happen and the cash may have fallen out, I asked if anything could be done about this. She was able to explain this to the manager and they waived the charge and were able to charge me only what would have been taken off of the two twentys. I Really Really appreciated this and that kind of gratuity not only earned her a big tip but also secured a 5 Star rating here on Yelp. Thank you Pussers for an excellent Mother's Day brunch! I will definitely be coming back!

The Hot Dog Spot

Was here on a hot day. Felt an overwhelming urge for a super hot dog. I went here, my friend next door to Subway. The place was pretty empty, noticed the large selection of hot dogs which was good. The Chicago Style one caught my eye and I ordered that.  I asked for water which typically would come from the soda dispenser, but they only had it on tap. Would be nice to have filtered as this was sink water really.

Hot Dog arrived promptly and was very good. Lotsa condiments sprinkled on it which was great, exactly what I had hoped for.

The place loses a star for unfiltered tap water, but going on their website, they definitely have the best site for a tiny restaurant. Very clean layout full menu in web and PDF form and pictures to show whats on the menu. Extra points for style!

Their Cinco De Mayo, or in this case Cinco De Uno event was a complete disaster. It was a slow Saturday so we saw in local events that there would be drink specials, food, and mariachi band.

Arriving, we were charged $5 for parking. Typical 5 Points so that's okay. Getting at the entrance slapped with Another $5 fee which got us a wristband. What's this for? Oh, we have special events and basically doing stuff all day and would you like to try Clear Internet Service. Ok thanks, and no. She wasn't able to tell us the times any of this was happening. We also caught another lady who simply wanted to come here and eat. She was upset because she had no intention to stay for the events and didn't drink. She was no exception to the mighty power of Clear.

We sit down at the bar and order a beer. The waitress didn't really pay much attention and moved along with her business. No drink specials offered it seemed like any normal day. We asked whats going on with the Cinco De Mayo event. She says she didn't know. Most of the people there really had no idea what the event was about. One girl was nice enough to ask or at least see when these events would be going on. She came back with drink coupons saying we should have gotten these with the wristbands. Good for a Dos Equis or Margarita. We went with the margarita.

I have to say this was the absolute worst margarita I've ever tasted. Very Lime Gatorade flavor and we almost asked if they had given us Virgin Margaritas or maybe next time they could add a little tequila in it.

Food arrived which they gave us a choice of chicken, steak, or shrimp fajitas except you can't have all shrimp you would have to mix it. We went with steak and chicken in this case. Now in my reviews I will always give the benefit of the doubt in "Gringo" Mexican food places (Frontera especially). This place wants to claim they're authentic Mexican so be it, that's how I will judge it then. Just to note, other than my roommate, not a single Mexican was there all day. The fajitas were very plain and stale, no flavor at all, and the tortillas were very doughy. Asked for hot sauce and we get whatever is on the table. Asked for freshly made hot sauce we get the same thing in a little sampler cup. I finished the meat part but couldn't stomach the beans or rice, just really disgusting. Girls at the bar had more important things to do and faced the other direction to the point we had to move our meal towards them to get them to clean it up.

We had seen a live band which wasn't too good considering all they did was play covers so we asked when the Mariachi would be playing. According to their schedule around 5:00. We walked around Five Points for a bit and came back around 5:20. Still no mariachi. They did however have an ice sculpture designed for tequila shots. Cool, so we wanted to try this out while we waited. Unfortunately they said they weren't affiliated with the actual bar (no surprise) and that it would be cash only $4. The bar was literally arms reach from the patron, you'd think they could work something out. So for at least an hour the ice sculpture sat there melting away with nobody trying it and no mariachi worth staying around for. They discounted parking from our tab but even then we hit around $40 for drinks + meal.

The absolute worst Cinco De Uno I've experienced. Never returning and here's hoping Five Points gets a real authentic Mexican place to go to instead of this.

Twisted Taco Tucker - CLOSED

When i heard twisted taco had opened up in tucker my roommate and i were thrilled to go and its only 5 minutes away. It was 11pm but luckily they were still open. The decor is an attempt at old western meets modern sports bar. Giant mounted bull & pig heads on the walls and right next to them 56 inch plasma screens. Getting in we noticed it was trivia night and several people were already contributing. The questions were all pop culture but we didn't bother with it. We wanted to sit at the bar but it was completely full.

Our server Joey came up and asked what we'd like to drink. Two Fat Tire beers and we'd check out the menu. The big thing on their list is shots of Tequila. The prices range from $10 - $75. Yes, that's correct; a $75 shot of tequila. I had better be drunk for a week after that! We had asked to see what kind of bottle this is in but they said its locked up in the back and the whole bottle is around $500. Craziness. I think its a bit absurd that Cabo Wabo shots go for $12 as its not exactly high grade tequila.
Our drinks arrived and we asked for the hottest wings they had. They asked Ranch or Blue Cheese, I asked for Ranch. The wings arrived and not surprisingly weren't that hot, so we asked for whatever "HOT HOT" sauce they could conjure up. The Ranch tasted a lot like Blue Cheese, which of course it was.

Would you like more Blue Cheese?
No thanks but I will take Ranch again.

Our server brought out a mildly hotter sauce which would suffice.

For our second drink he asked if we wanted to try anything different. I stuck with my Fat Tire and friend ordered Magic Hat. The drinks came out and about midway through his drink and a quarter through mine we realized he mixed the two up. His excuse is that the server told him differently, but you can see the difference visually so that's no excuse.
We wanted to move to the bar to end the night and he asked if we wanted anything else, to which we said two more Fat Tires. he brought the check and no beers that we had Just ordered. Started a new tab at the bar since he had gone missing and ordered a Bud Light. While sitting there we saw the only people left were employees and a few customers but the employees were already talking about shitty customers and stories about rudeness during the day. Yes I realize there's a time and place for it, but do it in the back or away from ear sight of the customers still there ordering.
They asked if we'd like to come to their Cinco De Mayo event that Wednesday but i think the next time I "Get Twisted" it'll be at another location or far from this one. Pass it up and hope they bulldoze it and bring back Chilis.
