Kissing Booth Cupcakes

Hey guys think Melissa is single?? Well if she is then she'll be looking for a guy with a good personality; because we all know, based on her baking, that size doesn't matter to her at all!  

Looks like it's Sweet tooth Sunday for me this week.

I'm going to keep this review short and sweet - like the experience you'll have if you eat a cupcake here.  Close your eyes and open your mouth and you'll get a bite sized flavor packed surprise! So delicious. Wait a minute... only one bite!!?

Completely overpriced but full of flavor. Can't say I'd go out of my way to have another one; and I did try every flavor.  If I was interested in a small cupcake I'd probably have one from crumbs. All around a moist, tasty, cupcake experience; if you don't mind kissing your dollars goodbye.

Sugar Flowers for your cake.

Locally grown, locally owned.
Best item to buy when you're on a BUDGET and you need your cake to look sharp.

Let me put it this way - I like playing with my food: making shapes, faces, sculptures out of it; but the Sugar Flower Shop takes playing with food to a whole new level.

These Sugar Flowers look real!! You will blink a couple of times when you see the flowers but I swear they are 100% edible and apparently last a lifetime; well at least that's what the owner of the company said. Something about having wire in certain flowers but most likely if you're buying these, you're not going to buy them to choww down.  

The flowers from this **by appointment only** shop can cost anywhere from $7/flower on up - depending on the intricacy of the design.  

You can order flowers and make a cake yourself, or have Sugar Flower Shop make the entire thing! So, if you're on a shoe string budget, or you have unlimited funds: having a schnazzy cake won't be off limits to you.

Wedding cake, anniversary cake, business cake, birthday cake; if you want to impress your guests a cake from here will do the trick!

I've had my fair share of cakes over the years and I have to say I was REALLY impressed with the samples from Sugar Flower Shop. The cakes that I sampled were all delicious! The flavors had quite a range; but still all of the cakes I tried had one thing in common... they were not overly sweet!

Randomly came across Street Sweets & couldn't decide what to try!  After a quick game of eenie meanie miney mo, I ended up with a red velvet cupcake.  The cupcake was good: creamy thick frosting, moist cake, easy to peel off wrapper, and cute smush protector ring (see uploaded photo).  

The owners of this tidy mobile bakery seem just as sweet as their Street Sweets. With all of their attention to detail Street Sweet's hard work is apparent; there is no doubt in my mind that they choose the best organic ingredients that they can find.

I don't live anywhere near this shoe repair place but I'd hike up hill both ways in the snow in a blizzard just to come here.  

Maybe he's a flirt and loves the ladies - but friendly, kind, generous, and reasonable in every way.  I can't even tell you how inexpensive my repairs were.  

He fixed my purse - fixed my zipper on my boots, changed the worn off heel (accident from ballroom dancing with a girlfriend, yea forgot my dancing shoes) shined, waterproofed, and regardless of how much I paid EVERYTHING now looks brand new!!!

He completed all of the repairs while I was waiting.

Date Rating: 10 I swear if you bring a girl here and tell her to bring everything she needs fixed she will be in HEAVEN!
Pick up Scale: 6 I did meet a guy from the UN who may help on a project I've been a part of.  Not a date place but the owners & patrons are certainly friendly.

Strong Suggestion: Drive, walk, fly, come here and have your soul repaired. :-)

Nothing special about this spot.  The fact that they have all three cuisines is a little odd but their Thai food wasn't bad.  I had the Thai Basil Chicken with Green beans and let me tell you it's enough food for two people.  This would be a great spot to dine family style.

Decor is nice and clean - cleaner than most of the restaurants in this neighborhood. It's clear that the owners updated the interior within the last 5 years.

Strong Suggestion: If you're across the street at Peter Norton's Symphony space this isn't a bad choice for dining.  But sticking to the basics would be a good idea.   Lemongrass grill was much better.

Serving delicious gelato & sorbet

The gelato was pretty good. I agree with Audrey it was a little icy and the nutella was delicious (try it... Free to taste). All around enjoyed my dessert. Not sold on the pizza or the cheesy music they had here.

Ohh wait!!! If you're a by the inch kind of girl you can make this pizza bigger and pay extra!!  A big huge four inches!!  At only  $5 per slice you're sure to spend $10 before you get anywhere close to the length you want.

Still curious what's so special about bread, tomatoes, a little cheese and a topping o two. The guy next to me ed eating a few slices I think he donated blood instead of paying for his meal. He also seemed to be drinking hi saliva since because it was more blood or starve and clearly he chose to have more pizza.

Any way you look at it the Italian guy behind the counter is pretty easy on the eyes so at least you could stare at his gelato. I mean his beautiful face.

Strong suggestion: don't venture out of your way this is a neighborhood spot.

I just don't know what they do but every time it steals my heart. You really can't go wrong on the menu here.  Have fun holding your buzzer while you wait!

Late night TV & sushi
Don't miss the sweet potato roll!!

I know sweet potatoes in a sushi place?? Dunk them in soy sauce and take a bite I swear you're going to love it - it's surprisingly yummy.  Sweet potatoes are good for you!! Come on.  Fresh fish, good service.  Definitely not a destination sushi place but if you're in the neighborhood (I came here with a guy I dated a few years back) it's a good spot to grab a bite.

Why I didn't mention this place before is beyond me.

Strong Suggestion: Two apps one entree one dessert per person

If you're not in a rush - you can't beat the price + you can Yelp the whole way out of town!

The seats are a little close together and my knees get a little cramped but they don't get mad if you get up and walk around or if you step our of the bus and do jumping jacks when they take a pit stop half way.
