My girlfriends and I came here this past Thurs for DAT (knowing that it wasn't offered Fri-Sun).  At first glance we were a bit disappointed with the selection choices.  In the end I ended up ordering off the DAT menu.  The other 3 ordered a-la-carte from the regular menu.  I had the squash soup, fried chicken & apple dessert.  Everything was tasty, but nothing wowed me.  Except the cornbread.  I couldn't put it down.  I may have been too stuffed with cornbread to enjoy the actual entree as I took half of it home.  They served a hefty 3 piece chicken portion. Mixed drinks were on the sweet side.   I would give our waiter 5 stars.  We would have liked to have seen the short ribs on the DAT menu.

It's been about 2 years since I've been out to Davis.  We were driving by on our way back from Tahoe and decided to all drop in.  You can't beat $12.95 all you can eat sushi back in SF.  Granted I believe the price m lunch.  I believe it was a tad cheaper the last time I was here.  Great variety.  They also have sashimi plates and you can order hand rolls and tempura etc from the back counter.   I'm glad we got seated in 5 minutes with a group of 14 people (we had to split between two tables and came towards the end of lunch service).  The last time I came up, we got there an hour before they opened and there was still a massive line.

My coworker and I dropped in here this past Saturday while the rest of our group was hitting the slopes.  We wanted an afternoon of relaxation and that's exactly what we got.  Since I didn't have internet at our cabin, I did everything by phone.  They easily customized a 1 hr facial and 30 min package for me.  There just is not enough time in the day.  The massage flew by so fast, that I regret not signing up for a 1 hr massage.  If you're looking for a place in S. Lake Tahoe for spa day then this it.  The rooms that they use are connected with the hotel itself.  So look for the location on the 2nd floor of the hotel.

This is my "go to" Korean food restaurant in the East Bay if you're looking for a soup.  I seem to always order the same items & end up having to share since the portions are huge.  Kimchee selection is also well portioned.

Menu Picks:  Gori Gom Tang & Mandoo

I work over on 10th & Mission and it is tough to find good places for lunch in the area. I dropped in for lunch 2 days in a row this week with 2 different groups of coworkers.  Their chicken wings are to die for.  I could eat it everyday, which is probably why I ended up coming back.  We also had the corn egg rolls, appetizer beef, So bean noodles, peanut noodles, ma pao noodles, curry fried rice & chipotle fried rice (this one's a kicker).  There's just soo much other stuff that I want to try, round #3! dumplings next!  Now if I can only get back to the office in an hour. The wait time was a little lengthy, which was due to the restaurant being at 100% capacity & the fact that we were the the last table seated.

My coworker had read about their korean steak sandwiches on a local blog and suggested we drop in during our lunch break.  Hefty portions of bul-go-gi and the toppings.  I had enough for both lunch and dinner.  I think next time I'll try the katsu sandwich.  Sandwich & drink came out $10.50. My Coworkers picked up a few jars of the home made kim chi on the way out.  The wait time was approximately 20 min which seemed a little on the long side, but well worth the wait.  I advise calling in your order ahead of time. Friendly service.

It's been about 8 years since I've been here.  Was a bit reluctant as the first time didn't wow me.  However this time around I came for Happy Hour.  Much improved.  $5 cocktails & rolls.  My favorite was the chocolate croissant bread pudding.  My friends loved the spicy tuna.  Get there early because seating is limited in the bar area on a Friday. On the bright side HH is served till 8pm.   We squished 7 people on a small rounder table.  Bill came in at just about $170. We'll be back for happy hour again.  5 stars for the Asian waitress.  She came by somewhere around the range of 15-20 times in a 2 hour period.  Our drinks were always filled and the plates were cleared off right away. Superb service!! Best I've seen in a really long time especially since the place was shoulder to shoulder packed with people.

It was a rainy cold evening last night, so I was craving a good Korean grilled meat type of restaurant.  My husband always comes down here with his guy friends, so I made him drive me down to the South Bay from SF for the 1st time.  We ordered the combo #3 (ribeye, brisket, pork jowl and pork belly) which was the perfect size & a bottle of Hite.  My favorite was the pork jowl YUM!  The  fish cake soup was serviced, so our total came out to $58.  All the meat is fresh and not frozen which is definitely hard to find these days.  A huge +

Cirque du Soleil - Viva ELVIS

We were lucky enough to catch the show on what would have been Elvis' 75th Birthday.  Viva Elvis! was definitely better than I was expecting.  It's produced similiarly to the Beatles production, so if you're expecting the normal Cirque Du Soliel Productions, I'd strongly recommend Ka or "O".

The show chrolnicles the life of Elvis with some terrific singers who spliced in as duets with Elvis original voice in the backdrop.  There is also an array of massive sets and props that will keep the eye wandering at all times.

Our seats were dead center about 10 rows.  You can pretty much see the entire production from any seat in the lower level.  The upper level looked a bit high to me.

Well I don't want to spoil it too much, so you'll have to go check it out for yourself

I just got back from the 2010 CES show.  The big hype this year were the 3D tv's. My favorite booths of the show by far was the LG & Samsung booths.  I don't really remember the rest of the show.  It took us approximately 4 hours to get through everything that we wanted to see.  Most of the action was definitely took place in the Central Hall.  Yay for free admission this year.
