I can't believe there is only one Gymboree Play and Music center in Salt Lake! With all of the kids, I would think there would be more call for it!

The Gymboree facility is clean and well-maintained. And parents do seem to respect the "don't bring a sick kid" rule. So unlike other play opportunities, this is pretty germ-free.

We have had a great time at both the classes and open gym time. The teachers change a lot, which is really my only complaint about the classes so far (it would be nicer for my son to get attached and look forward to seeing the teacher.)

The open gym times are great, especially on a rainy day. I wish they had more of these times!

We had a great experience with Steve Brush, from the Bringhurst Group. He did a great job showing us properties, working with our schedule, and making sure the whole process was smooth and informative.

I will just chime in and add another good review for these guys. Kevin was at my place promptly, worked with a really tricky lock, and generally did a good job. They are going to be my first call when I need a locksmith again.

I thought this would be a convenient locksmith, since it was in the area I needed. I called and they weren't able to tell me if they could do my lock. They called back and said they could, and scheduled a time. I should have been tipped off when they forgot to ask for my address! I waited for an hour after the allotted time, and they never showed up or called. I should have saved myself some time and looked at the well-rated locksmith on Yelp (and so should you!)

Tanner Park has some good points and some bad points. It has some sports areas that are in use (baseball diamond) and some that are not (the saddest looking tennis court you will ever see.) It has space that many use for walking dogs. And it also has a playground, which is really what I will focus on in this review.

On the good side, it is a pretty good park for toddlers and young kids. The playground equipment is in relatively good shape, with lots of slides. It could use one more infant swing, but that is a minor complaint. My son loves the teeter-totter and the slides he can climb up to himself.

On the flip side, the park isn't very actively maintained. There is a lot of trash. Intermittently, they place a trash can near the playground. But most of the time, the only trashcans available are near the parking lot, and those are filled with tons of dog POOP! So, open those at your peril.

We went here on a whim on a Friday night, and we were delighted to get in quite quickly!

I was ready for something nice to drink when I got there so I sampled a cocktail and some wine. I really liked were that the red wines were well selected (and by the glass were all the same price!) The drink I selected was a bourbon drink called "Kentucky Cousin." I love bourbon, and even though the description (a mojito + manhattan was how it was billed by the bartender) sounded terrible, I decided to give it a try. It was a great drink, although terribly misnamed, since bourbon wasn't really a dominant taste. I think it would look great in a mojito glass.

The pizzas and dessert were excellent. The pizza dough was delicious, and we had just the right amount of toppings. My only complaint here is that the tables are a tad small for their method of serving the pizza (on cutting boards.) I totally get what they are going for, aesthetically, but it did make the table a little cramped.

I probably liked it enough for 5 stars, but I try to reserve that for places I have been to more than once (need to sample the food a little more extensively.)

I just had a great experience with Dave's Body Shop. After totally smushing the front of my car, I had to get something done. There was extensive paint and detail work to get taken care of as well as quite a bit of engine work.

Dave's worked seamlessly with my dealership and saw to it that my car got back into perfect shape (maybe even slightly better!) One of the cool things about Dave's is that they post pictures of your car at the end of each day. You can watch the whole disassembly and assembly. Initially it is a bit depressing to see your car taken apart. But it is really nice when you see it start to come back together.

There are a lot of other really convenient things about Dave's. There is an Enterprise Rent-A-Car right next door, which is very handy if you aren't getting a loaner. They also have toys and other things to keep your squirmy toddler occupied while you take a look at paperwork.

Ben is especially helpful and he kept me up-to-date on repairs and other issues as they arose. I am hoping never to need body work for my car again, but if I do, this is definitely the place to go.

I went with bunch of kids from 13 to 1.5, and they all had a great time.  

I was concerned that the area for small kids would actually be too much for the little ones, or not enough. But it was a nice size and they had plenty to do with sliding, jumping, and playing with blocks. One hour here was perfect for them.

The bigger kids really wore themselves out. They claimed they could do more than 1 hour, but I am not sure that is true. Between flips and dodgeball, they were all panting for breath.

Meanwhile, we were all ensconced on comfy sofas that are strategically arranged around the place. Nice!

I think I had a better experience at Lulu's than some. We went for breakfast (maybe it just isn't a dinner place.) It was more reasonable than eating where we were staying, and the service was great.

If the fruit plate had more pineapple and less cantaloupe, it might have been absolutely perfect. The pancakes and coffee were nice, and we had a good omelet as well. Overall, it was a perfectly nice place to have a good breakfast on the way to Baby Beach.

Bleh! My Tropica experience was not terribly good. I give it two stars only because the ambience is nice and the view of the ocean is excellent.

I went for breakfast and had some of the worst service I have ever experienced. We were nearly done with the meal by the time our water (requested 3 times) arrived. We also made several requests for cream for our coffee before we got any. I would think that cream and water were pretty staple items, but apparently not. I considered poaching some cream from a nearby table.

The food was OK, but nothing spectacular for the price.
