What a treat! Stopped in for a quick dinner before the Lakers game. This is my kind of restaurant. Good food, big portions and reasonably priced.
I had a cheeseburger served on home made sour dough bread. The burger was fried and tasted just like a Hackney Burger for my friends from Chicago. The burger came with a giant serving of crispy french fries and coleslaw, tomato and raw onion. Everything was perfect.
The service was quick, as they were cognizant that we were heading off to the game.
I was told that this is the oldest restaurant in downtown LA. I would believe it. It looked like an old fashioned diner.
Another must if you are in LA.

The Roscoe's experience was great. We went with a group and ordered a little of everything. We were not disappointed. Great food and service along with a unique atmosphere. I ordered the fried chicken livers. I have not had them since I was a kid. They were outstanding. The portion was so big, that even I cold not finish them.
Roscoes's is an institution in LA. A must if you are a fan of Fried Chicken, waffles and Soul Food!

Wolffy's Place

I grew up in Chicago and moved from there more than thirty years ago. The only thing that I miss are the Bears and the food. When i visit San Diego on a Sunday I can go to Wolffy's Place watch the Bears, hang out with the owners, brothers Steve and Bob and have some of the best Chicago food west of the Windy City.
The food is outstanding! The Vienna Beef hotdogs with nuclear green relish snap in your mouth. These aren't the little skinny dogs either. These are the large ones served on a poppy seed bun just like ones I grew up with. We also sampled, the home made chips, ribs and hotdog tacos too. Simply Fantastic!

I'm disappointed that I did not know that BLT was in the valley until last week. I am a big fan of BLT Prime in NYC. We attended a birthday party there the other night and the dinner was spectacular.
The menu was set and the dinner was served family style. For appetizers we had crab cakes, shrimp cocktail, spinach salad, chicken liver pate and cheese popovers. The main course consisted of short ribs, steak, swordfish and free-range chicken. sides included grilled asparagus, creamed spinach and augratin potatoes. Finally for desert there was strawberry Sunday's lemon meringue tarts, and Chocolate cake . Everything was outstanding.
The decor is contemporary and comfortable and the service was as good as the food!

Brother Jimmy's BBQ

I love BBQ and thought that Virgil's was the only good BBQ in NYC. I was wrong. We had a great meal of dry rubbed ribs, including hush puppies and poppers. I will add Bro J's to my the list of restaurants while visiting NYC.

Today is a historic day (9/9/09)! After 28 years, Don and Charlie's opened for lunch. I was not disappointed. They are serving lunch from 11:30am until 2p in the bar.
There was a great selection of hamburgers and chicken sandwiches. As always, the food was superb and the service (with Cooper) was even better. The prices are more than reasonable for a big, juicy hamburger.
For the record, on this inaugural day, I had a cheeseburger with bacon and grilled onions, no bun, a few cheese fries, dill pickle and creamy coleslaw.
It does not get much better than that!

My favorite restaurant. You always know what you are going to get. big portions Great food and Great Service. Mumsie's Chop steak with char crust is my favorite along with coleslaw, chopped liver and twice baked potatoes. Ask to sit in Cooper's section you won"t be disappointed.
I have not been here in years and am wondering why. I thought I was back home in Chicago when I walked in. This place is the real deal! Chicago memorabilia on the walls the help in red white and blue ( ala cubs) t-shirts... and oh yeah! Great Vienna hotdogs with the nuclear green relish. I also had a two cheeseburger sliders. Very tasty as well.

Great beach burger place! The onion rings are out of this world. A must eat if you are in San Diego! be prepared to wait in line!
First off I'm from Chicago. I was raised on meat and potatoes. The thought of going to a vegan restaurant has never sounded appetizing to me. A few weeks ago my friend Mike a fellow Chicagoan took me there for lunch. I'm hooked. Been back two times in a week and a half. Forget about it being vegan. Green is just a good restaurant. I have tried the Argentine sandwich, Buffalo Chicken Sandwich, Teriyaki chicken, chili cheese fries and more. Everything tastes great! The prices are reasonable and the service is fast and friendly! I love the decor, it has an earthy hippie vibe. My favorite thing at Green is the the Soynami, it is their version of a Dairy Queen Blizzard!

The Roscoe's experience…
We had crispy chicken breast,Korean steak, pot stickers the size of footballs, pad Thai and edaname rice. Huge portions and unbelievable flavor. Our server was very attentive and informative.
Looking forward to my next visit
