Good parking lot with a big enough sign you can see while you're driving around looking for it. Service, once seated was good. Food was also good. Private room is good because we can avoid looking at degenerates (that's everyone except people I know). Overall a 4 out of 5.

I love their pizza, most of their pastas, and their garlic bread. It's kinda pricey, but whatever, it's the 90272. They should have their own parking, though... but I usually park nearby at the B of A/Starbucks lot.
I'm sorry that I'm only giving it four stars... it seems as if I'm breaking a trend. Anyway, went here after eating at Hodori with two friends. One of them loves this place, because he loves boba. He says, "dude, it's like a drink and a snack all in one".
I went here, had the mango smoothie with boba. The mango smoothie itself was good, but I didn't like the texture of the boba. It was as if it was old or something. I've had better boba, but that's not saying much considering I'm not much of a boba fan anyway.

Came here on Tuesday afternoon for a late lunch. Only one other table there when we walked in. Service was excellent. The waiter could 'sense' things and would know that I needed more rice or a refill on the soda.
The food also came out quickly. We ordered kalbi (beef ribs), kimchi chigae, and dwenjang chigae. The kimchi chigae was delicious, I loved the flavor of the broth, and they didn't hold back on the pork! I love kimchi chigae with lots of pork in it.
The other other diners I went with had never had dwenjang or kimchi chigae before and fell in love with it. I'm glad they enjoyed it. Exact quote from one of them was, "This is so fucking good" multiple times throughout the meal.
Next time I go to Arizona, I'll be eating there again.

Being the only minority there, I did get a few stares... including one very long stare from a hillbilly who must have never seen an Asian face before.
Anyway, got in around 9:15 PM, ordered some food. The appetizers were decent. The chicken wings, which were supposed to be 'atomic hot' were not hot at all. They were more vinegary than anything.
The cajun burger I ordered didn't taste very cajun, either. Still, it tasted pretty decent. Service was also decent, though our waitress did go missing for a while.

This place is turning into my weekly dining spot. This place has AYCE (all-you-can-eat for you retards out there) Korean BBQ, as well as AYCE 'other' items that they list on their menu, such as steamed eggs, hot bean paste stew, kimchi soup w/ rice, etc.
What I like about this place is that the service seems to be friendlier than other Korean restaurants I've been to. Consistently! Also, service seems to be fairly quick. The meats also taste good, though I'll admit I haven't been to a KBBQ place where I didn't like the meat, so whatever.
The one thing I really don't like about this place (although it's manageable) is the seating. Tiny tables and seats, and when it gets packed, it feels a bit crowded in there. Better to get there early before the rush. Also, I haven't had a problem yet, but I can see how parking can be an issue at times there. Solution: arrive early.
As we were leaving, I saw people waiting to eat there, so get there by 6:30 PM on a Friday night and you should be fine, though I arrived at 6:10 PM.

Roscoe's House of Chicken & Waffles
Categories: Breakfast & Brunch, Soul Food
I thought i reviewed this place by now, but I guess not. I'll be honest and say that I didn't go to Roscoe's for nine years because I thought it was totally overrated. I went a few times in 2000 (the Gower location), and I just thought it wasn't that great, and didn't feel like I wanted to come back.
Well fast-forward nine years, and I'm always heading out to Taj Mahal on Pico... and every time I go to Taj Mahal, I pass by Roscoe's. I was surprised because I didn't know there was a location there, but I also saw the Pico location had an actual parking lot. I decided I'd go there again someday just to give it another chance.
So one day, it was about 2:30 PM and I was hungry, and figured I should go to Roscoe's (I've gone several times since then as well). I would have avoided the lunch rush, and it was too early for the dinner crowd. Perfect.
I go and park my car (even though it was nearly 3 PM there were only about 2 parking spots left), walk inside, and seated about a minute later in a booth by the door. I ordered the dish that comes with two waffles and a leg + thigh. I also ordered a side of rice w/ gravy.
The food came out fairly quickly, and the chicken was really good. Perhaps it was because I'd ordered dark meat, and maybe they just suck at preparing chicken breast (which is what I'd had at the Gower location). So the chicken was good, and the waffles were really good as well.
The rice was also light and fluffy and tasted really good with the thick, flavorful gravy. It was tasty.
So the reason I give it three stars is because the service is below-average. It's not horrible, but it's just... 'bleh'... even when it's not busy. Also, the way you tip if you use credit/debit is kind of weird, like you have to tell the cashier how much beforehand.
Also, the restaurant is really loud sometimes. Like people who talk really really really really loud and laugh really really really really really loud. I'll leave it at that.

Islands
Category: Burgers
Neighborhood: Torrance
I came here a few days ago to have lunch with a friend. I've been going to Islands for about 10 years now, and they're all the same, but since this is the most recent location I ate at, I'll review this one.
Huge parking lot, which is always a plus, and also I've always been seated within a minute, which is another plus. Also, the food comes out very quick, which is another plus (my cousin worked as a bartender at Islands for years and told me that all food had to come out within 6 minutes or something like that). The servers also refill your drinks on a regular basis, which is another plus. The bathrooms are also clean, which is another plus. The food is also good.
What I especially like now is that when you order a burger, the fries come with it. I remember before I had to order the fries separately, but this is great news now... and on top of that, it's unlimited fries (though I didn't even finish mine) so for you really fat motherfuckers out there this should put a fat greasy smile on your bloated face.
One interesting thing I noticed is that when your drinks are refilled, they never take your old glass, they just bring you a new one, and never take away the old ones. I had two refills, and so did my friend, so we literally had six empty glasses on our table by the time we left. I know it's not an accident because this happens at every Islands I've been to. I wonder what the reason is, though I have a theory.

Asa Ramen
Category: Japanese
Neighborhoods: Harbor Gateway, Torrance
Came here Saturday night with a friend to enjoy a bowl of noodles. When I go out to eat ramen, I always go to Orochon because I love spicy food. So I went to Asa because I was in the area, and didn't expect much.
Well, it's in a L-shaped plaza that also has a bank in a separate building in the plaza. You'd have to read Japanese to know which store in the plaza is Asa ramen; just look for the chalkboard outside the door.
So I went in, we were greeted by a friendly waitress, and she told us to sit anywhere. This was about 9:45 PM, and I'd say there were about eight other people there, though another seven people came in while I was eating. I think this restaurant seats no more than 25 or so.
Anyway, I ordered a large Asahi, some noodles (large), and chicken karaage. The beer was cold and good. The karaage was some of the best I've had, though the best is my friend's father's karaage, which I haven't had since Dec 2005 when I was in Osaka. =(
Still, Asa had really good karaage. I was pleasantly surprised. Nice big pieces, but the meat was very juicy and tender. The portion was also a very good size (much bigger than say, the amount you get as Sake House Miro). The only thing is I wish they'd served it with some lemon slices, cuz I like to squeeze some of that lemon juice on there.
As for the ramen, it came out, and though I wasn't expecting much, the soup was damn good, and the noodles were what I especially enjoyed. Some of the best actual noodles I've ever had, though I've had better broth. =)
Overall, the experience was good, and the waitress came over near the end and I was full and all I could say was "oarimashita!".

Great chicken, great aji sauce... prices might seem a bit high, but I got a half chicken combo with two sides and a large drink for $10 and some change. The salad side isn't that great, nor are the fries. I tried some of the rice, which is just plain rice... anyway, don't come here for the sides, come here for the awesome chicken. Parking kinda sucks, but whatever, I haven't had a problem so far.
