Yelp's Tailgate at Arcadia Tavern

Sorry, this is a little late. Thanks Lindsey, for putting on another great event!

It was busy getting in, but thank goodness for the complimentary valet parking. Those guys were busy! All the bites we had to eat were great. I'm sorry didn't have a chance to go and check out the games outside, but we had a great time eating and drinking inside with the AC. Love all the TVs here. We will definitely be back to watch a game.

The staff was great and they continuously checked on us and cleared plates as soon as they were empty. Thanks Arcadia Tavern for such a great time!

So I have a confession. I love visiting state and national parks. So much so I bought a passport book that you can stamp at these parks. I am addicted to getting this thing stamped. And you can get a stamp here! Woo hoo!

The trail here is very nice. It's amazing to see all the cliff dwellings up close. You get to pass right by them on the trail and you can see them across in some of the other cliffs.

There are a lot of stairs, which isn't too bad going down, but can be a little exhausting going back up. Or maybe I'm just way out of shape.

Don't forget to bring lots of water!

This is such a fun drive! But it's not for those who get car sick or dizzy on the teacup ride at Disneyland (yeah, I'm talking to you mom).

Anyway, there are a lot of twists and turns along this drive if you start it out in AJ. You can take a paved road all the way to Tortilla Flat which is just past Canyon Lake. You can stop at Canyon and go fishing or enjoy other water activities or stop at Tortilla Flat and grab a bite to eat at the restaurant and ice cream next door at the parlor. You can drive a few miles past Tortilla Flat on a paved road, but then it's dirt to an overlook (beautiful by the way), which can be a bit rough on a small car. If you plan on taking the dirt road bring a truck or SUV. Wish we could have gone further. Oh, well. We'll have to save the rest of the trip all the way to Roosevelt Lake for another day. Depending on where you live in the valley this take take up a few hours or the whole day.

Bring your patience, as you may get stuck behind someone towing a boat.

Yelp's Most Wanted at Hole-in-the-Wall

We had an awesome time. It was such an nice day out yesterday on the patio. Everyone at Hole-in-the-Wall was so friendly. I loved all he mac and cheeses offered (I may have gone back for seconds). The prime rib and brisket were also tasty. The chicken and waffles were so good too. The waffle was so light and I enjoyed the very lightly breaded chicken. I was surprised that this wasn't a heavy combo.

Thank you for the gift bags. Can't wait to come back and have dinner and drinks on the patio (well after a day at the pool with our free passes). And thanks for the bottle of BBQ sauce, I was a little afraid when Mike asked me to spoon some into my purse for later (Just kidding!). Dessert was pretty yummy too even though I wish we could have roasted the  marshmallows.

Thanks Lindsey for another great event!

We got a room for 2 nights here for super cheap on priceline. Let's just the amount we paid per night rhymes with nifty, bifty, difty... You get it.

Pluses:
Free wi-fi
Free parking
Free breakfast (cereal, omlets, cinnamon buns, muffins, biscuits and gravy, etc)
About 5 minutes from Old Town Temecula
Maybe 10-15 minutes from the main winery strip

Minus:
Right next to the freeway. It was kind of just like white noise to me so it didn't keep me up.

The staff here was very friendly and the rooms were clean and pretty spacious and had both a fridge and a microwave. We would definitely stay here again.

The atmosphere here was a little more formal than some of the other places we visited. At first the staff seemed a little snotty (I think it was because a party bus came in shortly after us and they were kind of annoying), but quickly warmed up. The reds were definitely better than the whites. I especially loved the champagne. This was our fourth stop so I was in the mood for something a little lighter. We were even poured a taste from one of their red wines in a barrel.

We had a 2 for 1 coupon and got to keep the glass. They have the coupon available on their web site.

We made reservations and even though this place wasn't that busy on a Thursday night it still took them about 15 minutes to seat us. Service was slow. People who arrived about 20 minutes after us (who had the same server) had their orders taken first even though we had been ready for awhile (she just kept walking past us).

The food was ok. The filet mignon had a weird texture to it, I wouldn't order it again. The quality of the meat wasn't worth the price. I instead feasted on the baked potato.

It was a cute looking place, but I the food and service won't draw me back.

This was our first stop so I didn't know what to expect from the wines in this area, but we were pleasantly surprised. We had a great time here. They have free tours during the week and the weekend. It was short, but fun to check out. Some of the wines were pretty good and the staff was very friendly. FYI - They have a $2 off tasting coupon on their web site. The tasting room was under construction during our visit (so we were in a cold warehouse type area), but it was still pretty cool and the new tasting room looks like it's going to be amazing. You can also have weddings in the barrel room!

This place was ok. After eating at a couple of other places in town I can see why this place gets good reviews. It's located near the beautiful Temecula Civic Center in cute Old Town Temecula.

It's a small space so it can get really loud here. Of course there was a kobe burger on the menu (what's up with every place around here serving kobe burgers?). It was ok. I had a  pasta dish with shrimp in a cream sauce. It was a bit salty. Service was also ok. We were seated at a pretty small table and it took the waiter until the end of our meal to remove our salad plate even though we kept shoving it to the side to try and comfortably fit our dinner plates. Food here wasn't bad, just not memorable enough for us to come back.

The food was excellent, but the atmosphere and service was lacking.
They put us in the room next door which looked like it was still under construction. Unless that's how it's suppose to look? Server checked in on us once before he brought the check. Not sure if he stepped out to catch a wave or what. We had to get someone else to bring us condiments and refills. But I guess when your tip is worked into the bill you don't really have to case what kind of service you provide.

The Sauce burger was awesome and the side salad that came with is was also very tasty. They overcharged us for one of the meals, but the service was so slow I didn't want to hassle with it and figured they could keep the two extra bucks.

Loved the cookie at the end, but Mike didn't get to try them since he has nut allergies.
