My husband I wanted simple silver wedding bands. We first explored platinum -- Gulp!  The price was over-the-top.  After exploring further, we decided to go with tungsten, the hardest substance next to diamonds. Our tungsten-carbide bands are guaranteed to never scratch; and, so far, they haven't! They shine like mirrors. We get a lot of compliments on them, and unlike platinum, we'll never have to have the scratches buffed out. DeBebians was even able to offer the ring a nice fat 12mm size 4 for me. I love it!  Both rings for about $250. Now that's love. I'll recommend DeBebians to anyone who asks.

Stubborn Mule Saloon & Steak House

We enjoyed a quick dinner here one evening, having hit it just right before the Friday night dinner crowd ascended on the place.  Two specials were the pick -- an 8 oz. sirloin steak with deep fried prawns at 2 for $20.  The steak was a little chewy, but one can't expect a rib eye when ordering sirloin. And the prawns were a little small, but... add a loaded baked potato and grilled garlic toast to the mix, and we had more than we could handle.  The wait staff at this party palace was very friendly, serving up stiff dinks a plenty.  We hit the road before the band and Toga party kicked off, but we felt the thundering hoof beats heading that way.

Uh... duh!  It's as good as it gets, Baby! I don't even want to know the person who gives it anything less.

You walk in a separate entrance where you're directed to a private area where an elegantly lit room with tables and tables of gourmet foods beckon.  The meat selection included rack of lamb, spare ribs, grilled salmon, roasted turkey.... Side dishes included augratin potatoes with portabella mushrooms.. . And the only salad I can remember (I made about 4 return trips for this one) is the spinach Caesar salad with shaved parmesan cheese... Desserts,  you ask?   How about some bread pudding with Jack Daniels sauce? The tremendous wait staff is right there to grab your empty plate or fetch a drink from the bar. Drinks, you ask?  Just belly up and request your favorite from the vast selection of brews, liquors and wines.  Did I mention the food is included with the price of your baseball ticket?!  That's right -- all-inclusive food and drink.

When you're ready to head out to your seat, get ready to be amazed. It doesn't get any better than behind the batter's box. And when you feel a rumble in your tummy (probably indigestion at this point, and you really should stop) and want some more, just make your selection from the limited stadium menu and hand it to the waitress at the end of the aisle.  This is living!

This was such a treat. I can't wait to do it again!

The food and service here is outstanding.  Made me wonder if our crazy-friendly waitress goes home and kicks her dog after her shift.

We visited Mother's Day weekend for breakfast.  The wait was 45 minutes, but not unusual. The staff provided all-you-could-drink complimentary coffee -- the best I've ever had at a casual joint like that. The Dutch Babies were awesome!  The homemade hash was out of this world.  And you know that even the veggie omlettes are laced with cream and butter.  Crazy good stuff.

The parking lot is a bit tight, so get there early or plan to circle the block several times.

Uhhh... what's that..?  There's no fan in the bathroom...?  Are you kidding me? Good thing we picked up some Nog Chompa at the hoodoo voodoo shop at the Market. And, no, the room windows didn't open.

The best thing the Sheraton has going for it is location. After that, it's shot to Hell.  I can't speak to the newer Sheraton towner, but I can tell you that they must have put all their money and effort into it because it didn't go into modernizing the old tower.

The beds were fine -- nice white linens and comforter. But can we lose the full-size beds already? If I never sleep in another full bed it will be too soon. What is the point?? Queen or King, please.  The new LG televisions give a nice modern look to the room, but then you turn them on, and the picture is terrible. No HDTV to be had here. Wish I had brought my computer, though, as I could have plugged right in to the ethernet connection, which may have upped this to a three-star rating. The driver in our party was none too happy about the valet parking tax of 19.5 percent. Judging from his livid response, I'd guess that's not normal.  Staff was polite enough; we were in and out in a hurry.

This  Sheraton didn't speak well for this modern city with its outdated amenities. Perhaps this is where they stuff their Priceline guests to punish them for trying to save a buck.

Awesome, awesome, awesome...  I just wish there were one closer to the pub I manage some 50 miles away.

I save so incredibly much on cleaning/bathroom supplies here.  For example, we purchase a case of 6 center-pull rolls (Scott) through FSA at $51 (plus tax). I can get a case of 12 of another brand for $30 (plus tax).  You do the math.    I got the most amazing LUG of bright red Roma tomatoes here for $25; FSA charges me $38 for a LUG of nearly green tomatoes.   I've purchased cases of bar glasses and other supplies here, too, at a deep discount. Great prices, too, on thermal register tape. And I could go on and on.

If you manage any food/hospitality business, check this place out. You'll save yourself big money.

If you're looking for great Americanized Mexican food, this is it.

The food is consistent and well presented and is always served up hot and fast by a friendly wait staff. I'm a big fan of the chalupa, and have yet to be disappointed.  The establishment boasts a full bar, so if you're looking for a margarita made with your favorite tequila, you're in luck. What more do you want?

I found this place very interesting. There was plenty to see with the walls covered in artwork.  Perhaps the best feature is that breakfast is served all day, and it's prepared from scratch!  My husband had breakfast and was soon overcome by the portion size. The fried potatoes were seasoned with a tasty secret seasoning. The pancakes were big and fluffy, and the sausage links were prepared just the way my husband likes them.  I had the jalapeno burger.  The jalapenos weren't fresh grilled peppers (the way I like) but were served from a can in their natural form.  This place is a must for fans of the onion ring, which were served dark and crispy. I had no choice but to eat them all.

Gobs of food for a reasonable price. And the staff was very friendly and welcoming. We'll be back!

Domino's Pizza

Props to Domino's for its new PR campaign. We decided to try it one afternoon because I'd been wanting to try its new baked sandwiches. Once we got inside we saw that they offered a meal for two, consisting of two bread bowl pastas and two 20 oz. drinks for $15.99 -- SOLD!  They were more than satisfying.  The crust was crisp and buttery and the pasta -- mine Italian sausage marinara, my husband's the chicken alfredo -- was out of this world!  I want a stab at another flavor ASAP!

The store was nice and clean and the staff was very friendly. I only wish Domino's had a dining room, however that's not the idea behind Domino's Pizza, is it?

We come out here regularly to enjoy the famous Jason Burger, which comes in a variety of combinations.  The drinks are priced right and there are plenty of pool tables if that's your thing. There is also family seating separate from bar seating, so kids are welcome and undisturbed by bar patrons. Tuxedo owner Pam has always been a gracious hostess, too. Give it a go!
