I've passed this place numerous times, and decided to finally try this place after craving some Wor Wonton Soup. There's a small parking area behind the restaurant, but I managed to find parking on the street in front of the entrance. We were greeted by an old sweet lady and seated immediately. Looking at the menu, there were a lot of dinner specials for around $8, which was not bad at all. I wanted to try the pork chops, but my heart was on the soup.

The soup (about $9) is huge, packed with generous pieces of soft wonton. A combination of shrimp and ground chicken make up the wonton, but it was like no other wonton I tasted before. There were huge pieces of chicken, beef, and even calamari, which in my opinion, is unheard of in Wor Wonton Soup. The bok choy, broccoli, cabbage, and other veggies add life to this soup. This soup can easily feed 2 (or one of me), so you can definitely share this and still be satisfied.

The service is a little slow, but the lady was very nice and patient with our requests. The ambiance is nothing special, but nothing to complain about at the same time. There are numerous pictures of the owner posing with different Asian icons/celebrities around the restaurant. Other than that, this is basically your hole-in-the-wall restaurant with delicious soup.

I would highly recommend this place if you ever craving Wor Wonton Soup. It's also a plus that they accept credit cards now.

Tiki Sweetz

My daughter had her 2nd birthday party at Pump It Up and wanted to sweeten it up with cotton candy. By the power of Yelp, I decided to contact Tiki Sweetz. The lady on the phone was very informative on what types of flavors they offered and pricing on their products. I decided to order 30 tubs of the blueberry cotton candy tubs, and she offered free delivery to Pump It Up. How awesome is that considering that I ordered the day before the party!

It was a huge hit at the party. The kids and even the adults loved them (some adults took 2 tubs home). The light, airy goodness of blueberry cotton candy was blissful. I would like to try the banana flavor when I order from them again, as well as the other products and services they offer.

I would highly recommend Tiki Sweetz for your party, baby shower, and whatever event you are throwing. Great customer service, reasonable prices, free delivery, and best of all, ADDICTING COTTON CANDY!

My wife and I are usually here during reserve weekend at Travis AFB. I would consider us regulars as they know what we typically order when we're there. The staff are friendly and helpful; however, the service can be slow even when the restaurant is not full of customers. They usually have 2 servers working at a time, so you can also expect a wait when you first come in.

As for the food, it's pretty good. I order the beef and tempura bento box which is around $9 which includes miso soup, rice, and salad. There's a generous amount of tempura and the salad dressing is just right. The beef is tender, but with some other pieces being too chewy. I usually order the "Joel" roll and Spider Roll. The "Joel" roll resembles a "49er" roll with fried shrimp and a slice a lemon. Keep in mind that all rolls are 50% off (smart marketing) which is basically about $2 - $3 off of what you pay at other sushi restaurants when you do the math. I also recommend the "Becky" roll which includes fried oysters and avocado.

The ambiance is dark with TV's surrounding the restaurant. They recently upgraded their tables, but I would like the place to be a little brighter. It can be very melancholy in there. If you're in Fairfield, be sure to try this place out. While the rolls may be advertised as "50% off," the prices are still decent with quality food.

I've been here a couple times already and recently after their expansion. I came in with my family on a Thursday night around 6:30 and parking, as usual, was difficult to find. We ended up parking next door at the Pump It Up parking lot. This is probably the most notable negative reason among the fellow Yelpers. There were many people waiting outside and inquired about the wait. They said around 20 minutes, which isn't bad, so I checked in. About 25 minutes, my name was called and seated right away.

I did not order sushi this time and went for a bento box with beef and mixed tempura for $12, which is reasonable for dinner. The beef was tender, and there were ample amounts of tempura. My wife got the 49er roll which was disappointing because it did not have the thin slices of lemon that we were accustomed to. The popular Orgasmic roll was slightly spicy with cream cheese and eel, but nothing really to get excited for.

The customer service is top notch here. Everyone was very friendly and our drinks were constantly replenished. It's a little packed here as the tables seem to be very close to each other, so don't expect any romantic conversations here.

3 1/2 stars.

This exhibits and experience that come with it are just plain mediocre at best. I did not end up paying for parking as I entered through the Convention Center entrance, so I got lucky on that. In terms of the tickets, you can pick up a BOGO voucher at Pizza My Heart or Quickly's, so it was just $12 for my wife and I (kids under 5 years old are free). The only complaint I had were purchasing the tickets. The lines were extremely long as extended all the way to the parking lost. We probably waited about an hour in the cold weather to purchase our tickets.

The exhibits were very beautifully detailed and my daughter really enjoyed the lights. There are many places to take pictures, and there are also games for you to play (you have to buy tickets at the booth in the park). I wasn't impressed with the indoor "International Food Court." Jamba Juice, Quickly's, and an array of different cuisines can be found here. There are some vendors selling various items; also watch out for the pushy sales reps who want to sell you their products. There was a rock band playing inside which was very odd for a "holiday experience."

Overall, this place is OK as long as you have a strategic plan. Get the BOGO voucher, take public transportation/park in the nearby businesses, and bring your own food and snacks. The exhibits are great, especially for young kids.

Just like everyone said here, the Customer Service is horrible; all the employees are rude here. It's like the employees hate working here and are constantly pissed off (both dining in and drive thru). The district manager of this establishment should be ashamed.

I remember one night, I ordered some food from the drive thru, and the girl forgot my drink. I stayed there waiting for her, trying to get her attention. About 45 seconds later, she opens the window and says, "WHAT DO YOU WANT." I replied that she forgot my drink. She gave it to me, did not even apologize, and slammed the window.

I'd like to give a big FU to everyone here...

The person who owns this franchise should be ashamed and need to retrain their employees. Since this is closest Carl's Jr. near my house, I'm forced to go here when I'm feeling like a six-dollar burger. First and foremost, their service is horrible, especially at night time. The employees are always pissed off and act depressed when they take your order. You ask for extra ranch, they roll their eyes. There's a promotion going on right now where you would receive a medium coke zero with a purchase of a grilled chicken salad. I ordered a grilled chicken salad and asked for the drink, and the lady questioned me. I told her it was for the promo that is on the window. She responded with, "what promo?" I didn't even wanna bother to argue with that lady anymore and I walked out. What a b*tch.

You might as well bring your own ketchup and ranch because they'll be reluctant to all your requests.

Bon Chon Chicken

After 99 Chicken, it was decided to finally try out Bon Chon Chicken with my partner in crime, Joel "1/2 of the Bread Bros" S. We came in around 6pm and there were a few seats available, which was perfect, because minutes later, people started flocking in and had to wait for their tables. We started off with the zucchini fries which was really good. I was expecting fried zucchini from Carl's Jr, but these actually were thick cuts of zucchini in deep fried goodness. The complementary sauces paired well with the appetizer.

I ordered the Small Mixed (1 Drumstick and 3 Wings) with a side of rice and opted for the Soy Garlic Sauce. It was a good 10 minutes to receive our food, only for me to have the Spicy Soy Garlic Sauce. I'm a weakling when it comes to spicy foods, so I told our waiter, and he apologized and made sure I got my order correct. He brought back the spicy wings and insisted that I take it home (no charge). Minutes later, I get my order and the initial bite was amazing. The sweet, crispy skin leading to the juicy chicken meat led me to eternal bliss. Each bite was followed by white rice and made me a satisfied Filipino.

I was blown away by the service here considering there were only 2 people working the front, unlike the forceful lads at 99 Chicken. The Small Mixed order will cost you around $7, which is a little pricey, but nothing really to complain about. I would definitely come back here and beat the 6 PM rush that the restaurant is accustomed to.

Highly Recommended

I stayed here during Comic Con along with my friends and family. I paid a reasonable price considering many hotels increase their rates during Comic Con. After landing in San Diego Airport, I called the hotel for their complimentary shuttle and the driver picked us up about 30 minutes later. The shuttle driver was very friendly and informative. My first initial reaction when I saw the hotel was "an upgraded Motel 8." The lobby was rather small, but the check in process was smooth. The front desk agent was friendly and very accommodating

We booked a regular room with 2 queen beds. The room was not bad, but not great either with a weird smell. I called in and requested a crib and was delivered by housekeeping in about 10 minutes. After seeing the crib, I thought to myself that my daughter will not be sleeping on it. It is not your usually "pack and play" crib, as this one was equipped with metal bars and a thin mattress. If you do stay here and need a crib, I suggest your bring your own. The shower's pressure was very weak and made each showering experience a horrible one. Despite the free Wi-Fi, it was a joke that I experienced faster browsing on 56k modems.

Another negative experience was the shuttle service. It was great getting picked up at the airport, but any other requests seemed impossible. We booked a shuttle to Sea World the day before for 930, but the next day, the front desk called and said that it was pushed back to 1100. I'm pretty sure the shuttle driver had an inside deal with other guests, knowing he'll get a bigger tip. That was the vibe that I have gotten from the shuttle drivers.

I would definitely not stay here again. Do not depend on their shuttle service and rent a car. If I go to San Diego for Comic Con again, I'd prefer to stay downtown where everything is accessible by walking. The location of this place seems unsafe and there is really no where to eat close by besides the mall (the walking there seems unsafe too).

Roscoe's House of Chicken and Waffles

My family ended our Southern California trip at Roscoe's before we flew out at nearby LAX. This location recently opened up according to our server and the restaurant was about 3/4 full. We were greeted by a tall security guard and opened the door for us, which according to my son, said they have at other locations. This was my first time here, so my son recommended the Scoes #1 (around $10) which included 2 waffles and 2 pieces of chicken (I opted for the breast and wing). As a side, I ordered the mac and cheese. After our waitress took our orders, we waited a good 20 minutes for our drinks while we saw new customers get theirs much quicker. It didn't bother me until we got our food, and it was until after we started eating that we finally got our drinks.

The food was very good considering the hype of the chicken. It was simply juicy and not oily at all. Hot steam can be seen from the initial bite of the chicken and the hot sauce really went well with it. I also dipped my chicken into the sweet syrup and tasted better. The waffles were thin, but tasted homemade and definitely paired well with the chicken. I loved the mac and cheese but for about $4.50, the portion size was not to my liking. I probably took 3 bites before the side dish was fully consumed.

Overall, I give Roscoe's 3.5 stars. The food was extremely good, but I can't say the same for the service. I'll let it slide considering that location just opened up, but with the amount of employees working at that time, I find it unreasonable to receive our drinks after we have received our food.

Bubba Gump Shrimp Co

Jenny, from Forrest Gump, says it best when I think about this restaurant. RUN FORREST RUN! That's exactly what you should if you happen to be in front of this restaurant. Run as far away as possible....

This place is very much overrated in all aspects of eating experiences. Bubba Gump, himself, should be embarrassed about this establishment. I decided to eat here with my family after visiting the Aquarium on Memorial Weekend, so I expected the wait. After about a 30 minute wait, we were finally seated, and put into a small area next to the restroom. We were very hungry and did not want to wait any longer, so we settled with that area.

Our server was friendly and had a great attitude, but he seemed to be absent throughout the duration of our dining experience. We ordered drinks, but didn't get them until 10 minutes later. We seen people who were seated after us get their drinks and orders taken which was completely ridiculous. I ordered the Steamed Shellfish, which consisted of a mix of clams, mussels, lobster, crab legs, and shrimp. My wife ordered the Shrimper's Heaven. I put on the bib and attacked my meal. Needless to say, I was not impressed. For $23, I expected more out of this meal with generous portions of each shellfish. My taste buds did not enjoy the overwhelming lemon broth that was used to steam the shellfish. I really enjoyed the Tempura and Coconut Shrimp from my wife's plate.

Overall, I should have done my research beforehand, but this was a spontaneous visit. I'm usually a patient guy, but their extremely slow service is uncalled for. I had to ration my soda knowing that it will not be refilled as quickly as I would like. The long wait from ordering the food to receiving it killed the whole experience all together. Check out the other restaurants that Monterey has to offer.
