hmm. where's the no-star or negative-star option?

I've been there in there a few times and was never greeted, but ironically, there's always the same young Asian guy standing there as you walk in the store.

Greeting never meant much as I wasn't looking seriously anyways, so it was ok for me to just browse around on my own.

But... I'm about to drop quite a bit of money on a timepiece and thought I'd check them out as they're an authorized dealer for a watch I'm considering.  Wow... I now understand why all the bad reviews on their "customer service".  Just search for "Asian" on all the reviews and you'll see I'm not alone.

I had to ask him to help me!  Condescending, yup, just like other reviewers said.   Not helpful or friendly at all.  I would've parted with my money for the watch, but that salesperson alone drove me away from Shreve!

If Shreve management is even reading this and base on the number of times people have complained about that Asian salesperson, imagine how much businesses you have lost... pity.

We went there because of a Travelzoo voucher deal.

The restaurant's interior is interesting and exotic.  But if you go at night time, make sure not to sit on the left side (as you face front door) of the restaurant.  Why? b/c of lighting, or lack of, it was so dark that even the waitress couldn't tell if our drinks were empty.  The table next to us had to use their iPhone to shine light on their food.

Service was friendly, but not as attentive and got really slow towards the end of the (Sunday) night.   Minus one star.

So why minus another star? food was ok, not extraordinary.  And they charge automatic gratuity for *ALL* tables.   They do specify it on their menu, but really, even for table of two and especially when service was so slow.

Would we go back again?  Nope.

I haven't even bought anything from them yet, but I love this place!

As a newbie who is starting out a salt water tank, they were extremely friendly, helpful, and not condescending.  I spoke to an employee (forgot his name) and then the owner Cerissa who were so patient, clear with her explanation.  

We're def going back to get the tank setup from her soon.

And love Benjo the yellow lab!

Bushido is the latest fusion Japanese restaurant on Mountain View Castro downtown street.  Being a self-described tapas place where the wait staff recommends 3-4 dishes per person, either the tables need to be bigger or the plates need to be a bit smaller, or... possibly, we just eat too much.   The waiter/waitress were both courteous and helpful, but when it came to placing, i mean squeezing, all the plates on the table, they need a better solution.

All the food started out pretty good, but it went downhill as dinner progressed and 30 minutes after we felt bleh... probably won't go back again.

soft shell crab $6 - from happy hour menu, a bit grease and heavy on the batter, skip it

shawan mushi (egg cup) $6 - we've had better, skip it

moriwase assorted sashimi $18 -  threes pieces each of tuna, hamachi and salmon, woah, probably one of the worst sashimis we've had, definitely skip it

okonomiyaki (seafood "pancake") $8 - we should've tried this while at Osaka/Kyoto recently, but even without anything to compare with, this was not impressive, skip it

asparagus tempura $6 - worth trying, lightly battered

pork belly in lettuce cup $8 - others reviews mentioned this was good so we gave it a try, not bad

miso black cod $11 - probably the best dish we ordered, try it!

see, we probably ordered too much... eat fast when you get there or the plates won't fit on the table

The only reason this is 4 stars instead of 5 is $$$$, this place is pricey.

Nice lounge-y environment compare to rest of the restaurants in MV downtown on Castro.

Definitely try the Shaking Beef ($25), soft meat on top of greens drizzled with nice dressing.  

Sea bass @ $24 is not really worth it, nothing really interesting about it.

Crispy Calamari ($14) is a bit greasy

Their side dishes (we had string bean $7) are not bad (relative) value.  Saw another table with the garlic noodle and that looked pretty good.

Will def go back to Xanh again when we feel the need to stimulate economy

not bad for this type of tea/cafe places, we had the

- Beef noodle soup: meh, the noodle soup at AJ in Cupertino 99 Ranch plaza is still better, but this is not bad for Mountain View area.

- Fried chicken leg rice plate: rice was a bit cold/mushy, sides were pretty good and chicken leg was a bit dry

All their drinks are size large (only one size), so that's not bad for the price

Not the cheapest in town, but Dan is still reasonable and fair.  Kitchen sink clogged up, after two plumbers came out, both snaked with no success, we called these guys.

Mike (the son) answered the phone and scheduled the appointment, while Dan (the dad) came out with another fellow, the two of them are hilarious working together, good chemistry, free entertainment for your money.

Mike doesn't do snake anymore for kitchen jobs so he brought in the hydro-jetting machine which uses high pressure water at end of a thin water hose which pushes down the grease, etc.  Within 20 mins, he put the pipes back together and the sink was cleared again!

They definitely know what they're doing and I would use them again. Show owner comment »

$25 for an hour and they work hard!  

foot massage + what seemed like a full body massage (arm, head scalp, neck, shoulder, etc.).  They don't speak English very well, but that's not a problem since you're not suppose to talk much in there anyway.  

And yes, they do massage you everywhere, if they push/squeeze your butt, that's normal, or was that just me....?

Definitely worth the $25, can't beat that.

This is one of our favorite gyro places on Castro.  Nice outdoor seating, good price, good portion, Adana kebab wrap (better than the plate) is a tasty meat.

Extra point for extremely friendly owner/staff.

This place is complete and utter neglect.  

Took 10 mins for someone to take our order, when it finally came, she got the appetizer wrong.

Then another 20 mins before entrees came. For finale, we flagged down 2 waitresses before we got the check.

Now the food which was prob one of the worst Chinese food we've had, greasy shrimp, small plate, veggie fried rice with frozen veggies.

Fairmont should get new crew, new chefs and maybe keep the decor that was the only thing nice.

Do not recommend this place, even if Travelzoo has a deal here again (yes, that's the only reason we came)
