The Gods have smiled upon Greenwood once more.

Fantastic homemade salsa in a squeeze bottle. The sauce is orange since it has some dairy in it. So freaking good. Much like La Victoria (San Jose) salsa.

Zucchini Papusas are so good. Spinach and plain bean are also tasty! The cabbage isn't as good as the krout I made, just say'n.

I also sampled a veggie burrito for good measure. hell yes.

Tiko Riko, we shall meet again... (and again)

A convenience store with growlers... nuff said.

I only wish I lived closer. I'm proselytizing to stores in my hood.

I've sampled these tasty vegetarian sandwiches from across the globe... and this is a great one!

Pickled red cabbage, Armenian pickles, and a perfect ball. The balls are crisp on the outside and soft, moist, spicy on the inside.

It's like a middle-eastern Reuben. Perfection, almost!

flying Squirrel just broke into my top 3 pizza places.

The staff is super friendly.

The beers on tap are spot on.

The pizza is top notch.

We put this into the wood-fired heavy on the toppings category. The ambiance is more family restaurant than high-end dining.

I'm dumbfounded that this category exists. I'm usually biased against a heavily topped pizza and it will often come on a thick-doughy crust, but they've done it. The crust is awesome. Very crisp with a nice crumb.

Great shop. Johnny cut my hair and he is was really friendly. I'm probably the squarest dude in Greenwood, but we had a good chat and he gave me a great haircut.

A great mix of fine dining and down-to-earth diner culture. We went out for a fancy dinner and ended up at the bar. At a lesser restaurant, it would have been a deal breaker. Sitting at the counter was actually great, as I could watch the bartender make our fizzy cocktails.

The food is really well done. The kale dish is sinful. The pumpkin and coriander pesto soup is just the thing for a rainy evening. High end comfort food!

Que suerte!

A new Ranch Bravo has opened in my neck of the woods. It's across the street from Lenny's Produce.

Great prices and street cart ambiance.

I'm giving it 5 starts to get them off to a good start, but I wasn't thrilled with the "veggie mix" today. I'm going back soon for a beans and rice burrito.

Friends will warn you that there will be nothing for you to eat.

Fear not, Kingfish is very veg friendly. There were so many tasty options, I had a hard time deciding.

The mac  and cheese is built like a huge brick. And it's a beautiful thing! There are even spicy chunks of pepper in there. I also got the fried green tomatoes, so that I could get the hush-puppies. Deep fried cornbread is new to me. Wow.

Portions are generous. Plan on a doggie-bag.

The food is a very high-end take on "good old southern food". We'll be back for a special occasion for sure.

First of all 85th Street Market gets 5 stars for the name. It is an incredibly accurate name.

Secondly they really cleaned up and improved this convenience store.

Thirdly I just bought a 6 pack of New Belgian "Ranger" IPA at a decent price. This is a brand spanking new beer, so this bodes well for our new market.

Fourthly the cashier was really nice.

Welcome to the hood!
