The vegetarian tasting menu was really balanced and varied. From the savory mushrooms to the tasty roots... a treat. The local cheese starter was very good although the simple cow cheese didn't really grab me. The bluecheese dabbed onto the fig-walnut toast was a mouthful of party yum.
Great place for an intimate dinner or small get together.

Balderdash Books And Art

I went to the library and failed to find two books. I walked over to Balderdash on a whim and *they had both* at a very reasonable price.
Also they have cats roaming the books, which the SPL lacks.

JRA Bike Shop
Category: Bikes
Neighborhoods: Ballard, Greenwood
They are really friendly and helpful. It's a cute little shop. They have good deals on used bikes. A small selection, but if they happen to have the bike for you, it's like magic.
They carry other bike supplies and do tune-ups. My bike is purring thans to JRA.

Speedy Reedy is rad. They helped me fix a chronic flat and were really nice about it.
If your ever on the burke gilman or Fremont and need some bike supplies, this is your go to. It is on the backside of that big building at Stoneway.

Snoose Junction Pizzeria
Category: Pizza
Neighborhood: Greenwood
Okay we got that out of the way. I am psyched that a Snoose Junction opened in my neck of the Greenwoods. I'd put this pizza in the "artisan" league. The vibe is much more edgy, but the pizza can go toe to toe with the fancy pants wood fire Seattle pizza restaurants.
We got the Aglio e Olio which has an olive oil base, Yukon Gold potatoes, red onions, and gorgonzola. I love a potatoe pizza and the can get dry tasting quickly. No way, these people know how to make a freak'n pie. Moist and tasty.

New's Noodles
Categories: Vietnamese, Thai

It's really good. I had the "New Noodle Thai Soup" #22 Veggie. It was really good and a huge portion. I had Spices: 2. Medium and it was perfect Nice and spicy! They go to 4. Very Hot. Yikes. Lots of veggies and tasty freshness. The wide noodles were perfect.
The menu has a few different categories. I can't wait to go back and try some curry tofu! A little slice of the ID right here...
The staff is friendly and thoughtful. He moved me to a different table, because he noticed that it was tilted towards the door.
Welcome to the hood New's!

Actually pretty good. I got Chello Sabzi take-out and enjoyed everything. I thought it was a great price considering I got a ton of rice, two containers a 'flat bread'. I am not familiar with Persian, but the use of spinich and olives was tasty.
A group came in and while they were being seated, they asked "Do you know where Kabul is from here?". Maybe the waiter was being truthful, but he said he had no idea. It is a block away, so that kind of bumbed me out.
A coincidence, I am hoping to try Kabul next, so that we can go head to head!

Lucky's Pho
Category: Restaurants
Neighborhood: Fremont
Than Bros is my baseline for great Pho at a great price. Lucky has a slightly different take. It's very clean and new. The ambiance is more of a Jama Juice than a grimy family place.
The Pho is pretty awesome. It has lots of veggies. You get less herbs on the side. No creme puff.
I want to go back to try their sandwiches.
The prices are "Google is two blocks from here" adjusted, so don't go looking for Siagon Deli prices.
Sad to see Sonic Boom move out, but welcome Lucky Pho!

Pillager's Pub

I felt like I'd been keel-hauled and was trapped next to Blue Beard's sweaty balls. Although it hasn't been open long the B.O. is disgusting. Could be a special effect they pipe body oder into the bar?
The bar is surrounded with wide open windows ( this was Tully's before ) and it's so humid inside that the walls are rolling with condensation, like the back of Captain Anne Bonny's thighs during a melee.
The pint I had was great, but it was hard to enjoy, given that I felt like a 6th grader at a demented Chucky Cheese. Props to Baron Brewing, but a foul gaze to the scurvy wenches that steer this cursed-vermon filled ship.

The owners are really nice and have been in the game for many years. They have a kitchen and a wide menu (for a coffee shop).
