2 times in a month i have eaten here, added to 50 times in my life. this place is still my favorite of favorites on the planet. Heard a rumor that they are moving which will suck because they wont be in my neighborhood anymore, but some food is worth traveling for, Crudo is no exception.
See y'all soon. -

I really enjoyed this place. My first visit after walking past it 100 times. Laid back environment, nice decor, a little on the trendy side, great food, very healthy, not probably for everyone (raw fish and such), but for me it was great. People are also extremely nice. Not a bargain price wise, but nothing like Nobu or similar.
Also, i travel a lot alone, and have a hard time finding places i feel comfortable eating solo. Crudo has a cool counter-style seating area that i dig.
Enjoy it raw...

Paragon Restaurant & Bar

Neighborhood: SOMA
The main menu is good, but i typically get light fare before or after an event. As others have mentioned, the grilled cheese and tomato soup rule. Burgers are good. Tartare is good. its all good. You cant go wrong.
if theres a giants game, then its sporting wear, if not, its nice casual.
Worth a shot if your are in SoMa near PacBell park.

Rouge et Blanc Wine Bar
Category: Wine Bars
Neighborhoods: Nob Hill, Union Square
The place is just north of union square in lower nob hill and is quite near my SF basecamp so thats why i visit. You wont find WiFi and a cafe atmosphere...its about relaxing, and reflecting. Thats what i do when i am there. I have taken a couple photos over the years on the rare occasion i have camera equipment with me. I loaded a couple shots to their page. Its really a well designed place.
When i compare this to the crap service at Cafe Le Presse, i wonder how they are owned by the same people, but, they are. Alas, i dont hold that against Rouge et Blanc.
I will be back soon...
Its casual, but you shouldnt show up in a t-shirt and flip flops. Its nicer than that. You will see many on special nights out dining with you so look the part.
This place borders on 5 star in my opinion. Its a beautiful place, excellent service and dinner/drink menus that have things on them that you have never seen prepared/combined anyplace else.
I had an Absinthe based drink called a Mojo that was amazing as were all of our drinks...all one of a kind.
dinner was amazing. nice size portions. great course breaks. The chefs tasting menu didnt suit my tastes this night but i have heard its phenominal. Wine list is great. Desert was great. Plenty of options but not too much. fantastic atmosphere. Just a great place. Its off the beaten path so its primarily locals, but i am certain the proprietors would love to see gang all there. anyway, I cant wait to go back and i would recommend it to anyone looking for a nice dinner and something a little different than the standard reno faire.
Enjoy!

Cafe Wha
Categories: Nightlife, Restaurants
Neighborhood: Greenwich Village
They have food but its better to eat at one of the 100s of great restaurants and save the Wha menu for drinking food (ie fries, burger, chicken wings, etc.)
You have to like people to like this place, its small, close quarters, and you will HAVE TO SIT with people you dont know. Are you ok with interacting with society? well then by all means...enjoy Cafe Wha.
Worth seeing...right in the heart of west village. Secret: make reservations, save time in the line.

So this review would be more for the late-night happy hour/lounge more than the restaurant. We got there around 11. the main restaurant was closed but the lounge was very comfortable and inviting. This is their first go round with the lounge/bar concept and it works. The decor is really beautiful and they did all the work themselves. very nice attention to detail. Would be a great place for a small party. After 11p the apps are half price and they have a great selection of finger foods to sample. Exactly what you need at that hour. This night we had their meatballs, rangoon, and a bangkok beef plate.
Bartender is great and the service is excellent. We had their Bangkok Mojitos which are sake based and amazing. It was a great place to just relax, unwind, enjoy a quiet couples conversation, grab a bite of delicious food, and catch up with an old friend.
Not sure if everyone knows just how authentically Thai the owners of Bangkok restaurants are. These family run businesses were born in reno by way of Thailand. Kris, his mom, and many members of the family are in the restaurants every day. The recipes are all his family recipes. There is a certain charm and authenticity to businesses like this, and i encourage anyone to support these types of places. I have known kris for 30 years, literally, and i am so happy to see them doing so well.
Support the new location, for lunch dinner or late night. I dont know how you would be disappointed.
