Lares Restaurant

Neighborhood: Santa Monica
The atmosphere here is top notch: small, cozy and authentic.
The food my first visit was also awesome. I can't remember what it's called but it's the first thing under the "specialties" section.
On my second visit, they messed up my order and my corrected food arrived a little chilly. I was crushed; I really love everything about this place.
Also, the mariachi band makes Lares fall into the "Hey, let me take you on this first date where I know this really cool place" category. Despite my bad luck, I'd still recommend this place.
The food is great. The food is also expensive.
The night we were there, the bar was far too crowded to be of much use to anyone. The crowdation was much past the "hip" or "cool" point of person density.
The mood of the restaurant felt inexplicably dated with a certain polish over the top to give you the impression that this restaurant was built yesterday.
I had the filet mignon, which was expectedly a delicious steak. The steak was not as good as the filet mignon I heard the previous night at the Bellagio steak house. I'd recommend heading over to the Bellagio if you're looking to drop a lot of dough.
Prices are reasonably. The menu cover looks cool, the menu itself does not.
The taste is pretty good. They pass the Pad Thai test and their spicy Red Curry ain't half bad. I didn't care much for the Pad Cashew, mostly because I'm not a big fan of too many veggies.
Overall, a good Thai destination in Everett.
$12 for coffee and a salad is much too expensive for Leavenworth. Hell, that's even expensive for LA. This place is off the main strip, but I recommend checking it out. Their Oriental Chicken Salad is a nice treat for Leavenworth's remoteness.
Service is great and staff is friendly. The place is dead.

It's atmosphere feels like a "cool" parent trying to design a bar but falling short on so may levels. It's got dart boards, but they are the plastic kind. It's not dive, it's not class. It didn't feel college, either.
Granted, I did have a very good time when I went there. I attribute that entirely to the company I was with. Go with friends and forget about the atmosphere. Maybe that's why the drinks are so strong...
Red Lion is a little on the pricey side, but it's a great haunt to relive memories and drink the finest beers in the world.
Unfortunately, Rock hovers somewhere in between rock god status and hokey impersonation. I think it's the newness and cleanness of the restaurant.
Also, the servers are a bit weird. Food and microbrews make up for it, though. And then you get your bill...

Took a girl here on a lunch date and Hangar Cafe definitely delivered. For those of you looking to get out of your typical cool Seattle neighborhoods, give the Hangar Cafe a shot.

The beer selection is great, usually 5-6 beers on tap with more bottles than you can possibly imagine.
The prices aren't half bad for what I assume average Williamsburg prices to be. The fancy bottled beers will definitely break the bank, though.
