This place was packed on a Friday night. This place doesn't have a full kitchen so all their food consists of bread (sandwiches, bruchettas), salad, or other type of appetizers that do not require cooking (cured meat, cheese, etc.). The bruchettas were ok to good. They had a wide variety to choose from and some where definitely better than others. The wines were decent. They also had live music, a one man band type of performer who probably catered to older folks (like my husband).

Overall the place is ok for a neighborhood joint. I'm not dying to come back, but I wouldn't be opposed to it either.

Delicious, high-end seafood restaurant that always seems empty when we walk by. The reviews on Yelp did not lead me astray even though I was dubious on coming here just based on how empty it always is. It's pricey and seems like the type of place that would do well in a big city, so maybe that's the problem. The great food and nice wines are definitely NOT the problem.

This place is awesome and cheap. The desserts are refreshing, not overly sweet, and pretty healthy if you compare it to something like chocolate cake. Also, the food is surprisingly good, like chinese comfort food and portioned for a ravenous teenager.

The name of this place cracks me up. It's totally not yuppie at all. The drinks are cheap and they have pool and air hockey. Not a bad spot to hang with friends.

This place has some definite hits and then some things I wouldn't order again. Must order items imho here are the soups such as the borscht or the pickle soup (yes, pickle!!!) and the kielbasa. Man, I wish I could buy those sausages in bulk. They are the best!

The folks of Sakae moved here because they lost their lease. Get all the freshest and highest quality fish you would expect at Sakae with a huge expanded menu of cooked food. The menu is mind boggling because there are so many choices. We had one of the special appetizers that evening which was a steamed custard with uni and cavier. Wow it was good. Yes, this place isn't cheap, but don't you deserve to live a little? This place is definitely worth the splurge. The service is also still feeling its way around the new digs and hence things aren't as prompt as they used to be. I'm sure they will work out the kinks soon.

I think Hiro-san (the owner) has plans to open a sake bar and possibly a karaoke area in the back. Sake + Karaoke = Fun night out with friends. Looking forward to it!

I can't say I've tried much here, but this place has really great pizza to my surprise. The crust is awesome, thin but chewy and the toppings are pretty tasty as well. The only other thing I have had here is the fried calamari and that was solid as well - lightly battered. Other than that, they have great cocktails. What else can you ask for?

I very into having fish with my sushi, but I checked this place out anyways with a friend who is veggie friendly. I was pleasantly surprised. It was good, but nothing knock your socks off spectacular. My favorite dish was the Soba sushi. Imagine having a Futomaki except instead of rice as the filling around the vegetables you use soba noodles laid out across the entire roll. Then you dip it in Soba sauce. It was really good. You'll have to try it since I can't really explain it. The place is also pretty reasonably priced so you can eat a lot of food for 15-20 a person max.

This place not only has really great fresh fish, but they also have the most delicious cooked dishes. Both time's I have gone with Dave Schwartz who is essentially a VIP here because he sits down and says just bring a "pile of fish", basically give me everything good and then some cooked stuff on top of that. LOL! Our bills come out to be a lot, but man its good.

You can't really go wrong with the fresh fish. As for the cooked foods, the grilled eggplant is great - really nice sauce, the beef rolled around onions was also great, the agedashi tofu is awesome..... uhm pretty much everything is good. The other thing I like about this place is that the sake is priced much more reasonably than my favorite local sushi spot in Burlingame. So take a cab or Caltrain here and indulge!

Wow, this place makes Pluto's seem ghetto. The salads here are awesome. Ok, I've only been here once, but I can tell it's a winner. First off, they have such a great selection of lettuces!!! I love butter lettuce and no salad bar type place ever has that. They also have arugula as well (extra charge). Talk about swank. Then you get to customize your salad however you want with all sorts of toppings. They also have a lot of great dressing selections and the ability to customize how much you want or if you want it served on the side. Awesome! Only a few gripes:

1. It's pricey for the good stuff!
2. You don't get much meat for the extra cost.
3. They often forget or add things that you didn't order.

But all in all, I want to come here a lot!
