It is about time I learned how the rear differential works in a car!

Tons of things to interact with. Check out the blood pumping through your own eyes! Learn how to tell if someone is lying! Make bubbles! Hammer on an xylophone! Push kids out of the way so you can poke the strange goo too!

Be a kid again, check this place out.

I ate here twice during a four day trip to San Francisco. The first time had the fish and chips. Good, but nothing special. The fries however were amazing. The second night I had the grilled spiced salmon which won an extra star for its deliciousness. Also subbed the rice to satisfy my fry craving again. The prices are excellent compared to all the other restaurants on the Wharf. A great place to relax and have a beer and some food after exploring the city all day.

Blazing Saddles Bike Rentals

The journey is incredible. You see quite a bit of the waterfront that you wouldn't otherwise see on foot. The staff was helpful and entertaining. Sometimes that path got a bit vague but pretty easy to figure out (especially if there is an army of Blazing Saddles riders as was the day we did it). Biking across the bridge was worth every penny (which came to $30 for the afternoon).  Instead of taking the ferry back, we turned around the did the bridge again. This should be a no-brainer for people who have never biked across Golden Gate.

A great hotel if you want to stay in a quiet neighborhood but close enough to downtown. A very unique style and clean rooms.

I had a room on the 3rd floor overlooking Sutter Street, and the noise wasn't bad considering the A/C was broken so the window was open through the duration. Bus routes were very convenient with routes to downtown across the street, and routes to Fisherman's Wharf just a few blocks away. The staff was very friendly with daily messages asking if there was anything they could do to make the stay more enjoyable. Prices were very reasonable for a 3-star, although got a bit steep on the weekend. I didn't get a chance to try out the restaurant, though they have free sake tastings on Tuesday through Thursday nights. Worked for me, I would expect the same for you!

LBR Automotive

Two days ago my car decided it sucked at life and refused to stay on. I decided to give LBR a shot after Julia Z.'s review. I called them up, they told me just to have the tow-truck drop the car off with them and they will take of things. In the meantime, I did a bit of research online to figure out what the problem may be, and get a rough price point so I know what to expect. They called back a couple hours later with the diagnosis (which happened to match exactly what I had found online) and for a couple hundred less than I was expecting! They never tried to sell me additional work and even offered to use quality refurbished parts to save me a bit more money. The next day they called and said I could pick my car up, and it was sitting out front ready to go! The car has been working perfectly since!

The whole process was painless, and I have complete confidence in using LBR in the future!

Burgermaster

Finding myself without a car for a day, I walked over to Burgermaster, one of the few food joints within walking distance of my office. Despite its close proximity, it was my first time since moving into town about a year ago. Despite what I read on Yelp, I decided to brave the lunch-hour rush. Sure enough the parking lot and drive up area was packed! Luckily I could bypass the mess and place my order inside.

Understandably, the staff was very busy and stressed. I would not say my experience with the cashier was pleasurable, but again I couldn't blame her. So I placed my order and waited with the other 8 or so people in the walk up area. My order was ready in about 12 minutes, but I was entertained by watching the drive-up attendants running around taking and delivering orders. I was also mesmerized by watching the screen that tells how long the different order numbers have been waiting for their order.

I had the classic combo. Burger, fries and a shake. The burger was very good (for the type of restaurant). The fries were good, not great. The milkshake was excellent! It was all very satisfying, the type of lunch that leaves you craving a nap. Unfortunately that is not the result you want when you have to sit in an office for another 4 hours afterwards...

Overall, it was a very good experience. I would like to come back at a less frantic time to compare, but will definitely be returning here soon.

Cheesecake Factory

I have eaten here a couple of times over the past few months. Service has always been excellent and I really enjoy the atmosphere/decor (however you do feel a bit crowded at some tables).

The food is either excellent or mediocre, and no way to know before hand (the cheesecake is always fantastic). One of my favorites is the Asian Chicken Salad, and on one visit it was the best chicken salad I have ever had (5 star by far). Yet on a more recent visit, it was hardly edible (perhaps a 2 star). So I know they have it in them, but it doesn't always show.

The Cheesecake Factory is a safe bet... most likely you will enjoy your experience.

Zen Asian Bistro

Only a few weeks old, Zen manages to create a great atmosphere, good service and excellent food. You can tell they are still ironing out the fine details but the staff was very friendly and helped in any way possible. All the dishes came out nicely prepared and the sushi especially was well arranged. The only downside was the slightly disorganized service (which they made up for with a 20% discount on the bill) and the place was very empty. I hope more people find out about it because it is a great restaurant and the neighborhood can't have too many of those.

My experience at Coyote was interesting. The staff was great and the dining room was clean and attractive. I am pretty much a purist when it comes to pizza and ordered a classic pepperoni. The strange thing was that it was both the best and worst pizza I have ever had... depending on the bite. I couldn't figure out why one bite was awesome and the next was horrible... but overall is was a very solid pizza (there were many more awesome bites than horrible ones). Since it is pretty close to work, I am sure I will visit here again!

Ashwood Urban Market

Category: Grocery

4 star rating

The Ashwood Urban Market opened last week and offers fresh sandwiches, soups, and salads among a variety of grocery items including wine, beer, cheeses, and frozen dinners. Since opening they seem to be constantly packed during the lunch hours. I have tried a few of their sandwiches and they are good. They typically give you plenty of meat and they have a wide assortment of Boar's Head Brand products. Their prices seem a bit high but it is a solid choice for lunch and a huge convince if live nearby and need something quick without running to a supermarket.

[Update] Since opening, the plaza outside the building has been a lot more lively with people since the market opened which is always a good thing!
