Amazing bar.  Delicious food, great bear selection, and fantastic mixed drinks. I went there a week ago now that my sister is working there.  It's a great late twenties crowd.

For drinks, I recommend the Zombie.

For food, I recommend the lobster bisque (better than Legal Seafood).

The one downside - it's hard to find!  It's hidden off Mass Ave on Green Street.  The building looks like a hole in the wall, and the plastic sign with a Budweiser logo would lead one to believe that it's a regular dive bar (it's far from that).

Great place.  My sister used to work there (she's now at Green Street).  Another great place to try tons of great domestic and imported beers.  The newer outdoor seating area is awesome during the summer / early fall.

The food is awesome.  My favorite would have to be The Best Wurst Plate.

Great bar with dozens of delicious beers to try.  But the greatest treasure is the peanut butter burger.  Trust me, you need to try it.  It will change your entire perception of burgers.

It's got a neat exterior, but that's about it.  The food is OK, but not good enough to recommend to a friend.  As a bar, there's just not much going on, which is primarily due to it's location.  It's just not in a evening hot spot.  Other than Pinky Masters and McDonough's, there's not much reason to venture past Oglethorpe when you downtown at night, unless you prefer coffee shops to bars.

I went here often during my 'addicted to carbombs' phase.  Great place to hang out.  There's a dart board in the back when available, and it's usually not too crowded.  When it does get crowded, it's tough since there's not a lot of seating, and the bar doesn't have a lot of floor room.

Good place to stop in on a weeknight to grab a beer with a friend.

Kimball Farm

As someone who worked there throughout high school, we often speak horribly about that first job we had, but Kimball's is not only a great place to work, but a great place altogether.

I loved it when it was just a good old fashioned ice cream stand.  It still is, but there's also a driving range, pitch and put, and bumper boats during the season!  The ice cream is delicious, and made without the artificial coloring or flavoring (Kahlua Crunch is made with real Kahlua).

The downside; very popular, especially on weekend.  I remember working there on Sundays in July with two employees on each window, and the lines would be pouring out into the parking area.  On these days, be prepared to wait up to an hour standing in line.

My favorite time to stop by Kimball's is in the fall, when they start serving apple crisp.  Add a scoop of the fall season's pumpkin ice cream, and I'm in heaven.

As much as I enjoy little ice cream parlors in Boston and other cities, I think the best way to enjoy a "Sundae Drive" is through the outdoor experience that an ice stand gives you.

If you're a fan of seafood, it doesn't get much better than a massive platter filled with king crab, shrimp, crawfish, and more.  It's about a ten minute drive from downtown, and the perfect stop after a day at the beach on Tybee Island.

It's even a little bit of a tourist attraction with a live alligator pit!

The downside:  very popular, so be prepared for a long wait list.

It's not New York City pizza, but it's the best pizza you're going to find in Savannah.  Situated right by the square in City Market, it's got outdoor seating, amazing pizza and calzones, and an endless supply of delicious sweet tea.

It's a great place to sit down and eat with friends, or grab a slice as you travel around the downtown area.

This bar wasn't around when I was doing my undergrad in Savannah.  I stopped in here while I was on a little reunion back in Savannah with some college friends.  It used to be the Whitaker Street Saloon (which may have been the sketchiest strip club in America).

It's got a great atmosphere, and even pays a little tribute to the old establishment in it's decorations.  It's a younger crowd, so in about 3 or 4 years, I'll start feeling a little out of place going there.  But for college kids, it's really a convenient social spot.

This is a great little bar, but a little on the small side.  It's got a good mix of regulars and college kids, and the beer is decently priced.

Still, I think everyone who stops in Savannah should stop by and have a beer in the bar where Jimmy Carter supposedly announced his candidacy for President!
