Warren Tavern Restaurant
Categories: Bars, American (Traditional)
Neighborhood: Charlestown
FYI:
Monday's - Trivia Nights. Can get crowded so get in by 7:30 and get a seat.
Wednesday - For some reason Tavern is the "place" on Wed. People from all over Boston come in and the place gets packed. Definitely a scene on Wed.
Sunday Brunch: The Sunday brunch is actually pretty good.

DJ's at The Garden
Categories: American (New), Sports Bars, Music Venues
The Good Stuff:
It's a cool layout...
The Bad Stuff:
- The wait staff are simply rude and unresponsive. Everyone of us felt like we should have been apologizing every time we ordered something.
- The food isn't good... it's simply bad bar food. They charge a little more than neighboring bars and the menus are fancier, so you think you're going to get a good meal, but then it comes and you are thoroughly disappointed.
- Djs is a sports bar trying to be a club. We went to watch the NCAA tourney and they had half the bar cleared out with half naked Go-Go dancers blarring music that no one was dancing to. It was kind of embarrassing (for Djs and the dancers).
- "Management" is unfriendly. I have never had an issue at Djs, but I have seen troves of people kicked out or turned away from the door for no real reason. It always seems to be a "management" decision, yet I have never actually seen the manager every involve himself with any of the many problems Djs has....
Save yourself the frustration and go anywhere else... even Sullys.... you'll thank me for it.

The staff is wonderful and extremely friendly. The facility is a bit dingy, but they pass the savings from overhead on to you. With that said, everything is sanitary, the therapists are very competent and they are happy to refund your money if you are not satisfied.

Myers + Chang
Categories: Asian Fusion, Vegan, Vegetarian, Gluten-Free
Neighborhood: South End
Word to the wise: The hot and sour soup is excellent and by far the most unique approach to the traditional Chinese dish I have ever seen, but it's spicy as sh*t.
They serve the food family style, so I would recommend Myers and Chang for groups of 4-6 for those that are willing to try new types of food...
1) I had a reservation at 8:00.. We showed up at 7:50 and were not seated until 9:00. As we entered the resturant there was a group of 3 that had orginally had a reservation for 2. Rather than have them wait they put them in our four top, which resulted in an hour wait..
2) They then sat us in the corner upstairs which was jammed packed. There is absolutely ZERO noise control, so we were literally yelling at each other. We couldn't hear the server as she reviewed the days specials and ended up just ordering off the menu.
3) We had tickets to a show and informed the hostess and server several times that we had to leave no later than 9:45. At 9:45 the server comes over and offers us desert. I remind her that we are extremely late and simply need the bill. She then says, "Ah, that's too bad we were going to comp your desert if you choose to stay". It's as if they werent' even listening to us.
4) Ultimately the food was average at best, super expensive and we were late to our show..
I'm typically a low maintenance patron, so for me to be this pissed off should be a warning to all...

The dish I recommend is the Mahi Mahi that is complimented by a spicy slow roasted shredded beef... I'm not a huge Mahi Mahi fan, but I was converted after this dish.
Highly highly recommended.
Hotels are so boring... As an employee of the company I can attest to the advantages of staying in a vacation home rental. We have travelers email us every day thanking us for helping them out.
You'll have no problem finding a house in the Cape, up north, Myrtle Beach, Outer Banks (NC), Florida, Aspen, Vail, the list goes on.....

The Oceanaire Seafood Room
Category: Seafood
Neighborhood: Downtown
So often it seems restaurants offer you their b-league cuisine on the restaurant week menu - but we did not find this to be the case at Oceanaire. The fish was super fresh, the wait staff was excellent and the atmosphere was fun and lively. The restaurant is laid out in an old bank and features a beautiful vaulted ceiling..
There were only two of us, but I noticed the restaurant featured a number of large round tops for large groups. Given the atmosphere, solid bar menu and friendly staff I would highly recommend this as a "group night out". And if it helps, it is quite a scene... everyone there seems to be a mover or shaker of some sort... Mayor Menino was only a few tables down from us.
Highly recommended... (Note: It is expensive, so bring your credit card).

Pushcart Caffe
Category: Restaurants
Neighborhood: North End
Recommendations:
- The sausage is wonderful
- They have hot peppers (not crushed red peppers) that are unbelievable if you like spicy
- The mix green, red and yellow bell peppers into one mix if you want them on your pizza... again, excellent.
