The guy who helped me get the truck was a little better but there seemed to have total lack of communication with the desk people
All around awful, would not go back if I could
I thought they kinda skimmed on the jok/jook/porridge (on the pork and preserved eggs) and the lobster over noodles (sadly on the lobster). Still the $20 twin lobsters deal could be a steal
Also had very standard dou miu (snow peas) with garlic
I don't usually care for service or ambiance at these places but it was kinda bad, the tables are too close to each other. They did sit me by the kitchen, that table is half blocking that entrance. They also kept using my table to stack plates for service to others, quit that. I think prices are good though I didn't pay
Because of the proximity to the toilet, I kept thinking people walking out of there (and kitchen area) worked in the restaurant, so for once I think uniforms (or just a vest) would be good
More bitching: they have a bunch of big tables so if you're not a party of 8, prepare to share one or wait
The best part may have been walking over to Genki for some crepes
Mayflower is a bit of a ways out there but it's better http://www.yelp.com/bi...
I have to try more dimsum on Clement
I do have to point out that you get the Frankenstein slice here where you can clearly see the base (old) vs the toppings just sprinkled on (solid: combo, greco) which is a big turn off.. oh well this is the only game in town (in the area) when Orgasmica is closed
Bonus: plenty of space so you can sprawl over a table in your your drunkeness

Thx to our friend Juan for treating us
Our Korean buddy Juan took us there so it had automatic cachet
The kalbi (galbi) is indeed amazing here, even if I hated doing those wraps myself: worth it. The idea is that this kalbi is a different cut from the ones we usually get out here on the west coat. We are treated to all meat, getting the cut below the bones. Makes me think twice of getting kalbi with those three flat bones elsewhere.. Also excellent: the kimchi pancake. I love that stuff
The waitress hooked us up with this super manly soju which came in a little green bottle and kicked our asses
Note: you can skip the bulgogi and yes, Korean bbq will ruin your clothes for the day

Terroir Natural Wine Merchant
Category: Wine Bars
Neighborhood: SOMA
The place could use a menu so that you can read at your own leisure or take your time to pick. Maybe they want you to talk to them. The owner is actually an American kid who used to be the sommelier from Chez Spencer, hence the connection with the (limited) snack offerings: cheese and salami. He was thriving on the whole knowledge and education thing, so .. yeah that can be good or bad haha
Tried the white flight of wine and some cow cheese. It's funny how the little things like toasting the little pieces of bread make such a huge difference. The whole organic angle is more of a feel good thing for me, like "oh yeah no chemicals". Can't say that it tasted any better or worse
It is cool to have a wine store/"wine bar" in the hood. Bonus for staying open late and what look to be good prices

San Tung Chinese Restaurant
Category: Chinese
Neighborhood: Inner Sunset
I read recently that Golden Rice Bowl across the street might be ok as a substitute if it's too packed http://www.sfbg.com/en...
Yes
- Original dry fried chicken $8
- Seaweed soup (looks quite awful but tastes good) $6.95
- Dried sauteed string beans $6.50
- Beef and vegetables
So so
- Black bean sauce noodles (jajangmyen) $7
- Mushu wrap, I'm just too lazy for that stuff
No
- Pot stickers, celebrated but no go for me (huge size, filling: no, skin: too thick) $5.50
- Pig's ear $5
To try
- Three deluxe spicy sauce noodles $7
Portions are huge so come with people (or appetite). Food comes out atypically slow for a Chinese place
Weekdays get good deals (specials from 11am to 3pm: one dish + soup/rice for $5-7)
Date

All Japanese patrons so I would say it is safe
The fried rice is ok, not stellar. The gyoza is not cool
The ramen is pretty good actually, thumbs up on miso (I think Hakata as well) and shoyu
